Ancient city, rich history, easy to get around, less hustle and bustle compared to other Indian cities, vegetarian paradise!
By n large People are business oriented, fun loving and peaceful. I have noticed couples and families sitting at roadside pavements for fun, gossiping etc in late evening hours undeterred and unaffected with people passing by.
Tea, Coffee and evening snacs seems to be a good pass time for Amdabadians. Restaurants are always full wherever you go. The city has rich culture and heritage particularly old Jain Temples in and around the city. A lively, lovely and peaceful city. The bad thing about Ahmedabad is treffic jams at places particularly in Kalupur and Bus Satation Area.

Not much to see & do I'm afraid. I watched a cricket match at the Sardar Patel Stadium which was electric both in sight & sound! The entry into the stadium was chaos so would recommend arriving very early, especially if with children.
