A great place to visit for 3 to 5 days, lots of outdoor natural walk and views sunrise and sunset. Very Relaxing.
Visiting Ayers Rock is truly a memorable experience, especially during the sunrise and sunset. The night sky was a sight to behold.
You have to rent a car to explore the terrain.
There is only one town near Uluru, all accommodation are just within walking distance. Tourism township, able to cater to different luxury level of need.
It's better to go during winter than summer. Better rent a car so you can have the flexibility. Go to see the sunrise and sunset, and do sky watching, amazing experience.
When you book backpacker, keep in mind that it's sometimes mixed dorm.
Clearly, if you are going to Ayers Rock, you are going there to see Ulluru & the Olga.... We stayed there 3 days, but I could have easily stayed there another 2 or so days, just so I could take my time and not rush through the visits.
The "town" itself is pretty big... I was expecting something much smaller... In addition to all the different hotels, there was a shop, a supermarket and a restaurant... Honestly, a great place to visit!!
Beautiful area, excellent for hiking around. The top of Uluru was closed because of strong winds which was good, because it solved the dispute if we should climb it or not.
Amazing sky at night, full of stars. Nice visitor centre but we didn't see any aboriginal people working there. Also, there were many flies everywhere.
Exceptional wonder of nature, ideal for hiking. Nice aboriginal centre but we didn't see any aboriginals working there.
Everything is expensive, even food, but it's worth it.
very interesting area. To be in the outback is an amazing experience. Recommend the SEIT tour for around Ayres rock.
This is located in the information centre at Desert Gardens Hotel town centre. This tour actually takes you walking round the rock and you can have a hands on experience. Some other tour operators only go within a distance of the rock. Recommend Desert Gardens hotel for a reasonable rate to pay. Go to the other hotels to check put the cost of eating. There is a shuttle bus which goes around them very regularly throughout the day.All the hotel restaurants can be quite expensive. There is a town centre area in the Desert Gardens Hotel area which has shops, restaurantss, cafe, post office ets.
Standing there at Sunset ,with a glass of wine, watching it change colour, was a treat. it must have changed colour 7-8 times in 30 minutes.
and when the sun goes down there is the light show [millions of stars].
