Traveler impressions of Bologna
Bologna is an interesting city that is easy to visit since you can walk everywhere . The museums are open and free on the first Sunday of the month and there is such variety of types of museums for every age and taste.
Bologna is most interesting over weekends when there are lots of free open air musical performances and when the pedestrian shopping steet, Via Del Indipendenza is the most vibrant.
A beautiful and interesting city, well worth a visit - or two. The churches, towers and museums are very good but the best is just walking around the streets.
Bologna is not very touristic as compared to other famous Italian cities. The university quarter there is very nice, with many interesting museums to see.
I went to Maranello for the Ferrari. The Museum was not as special as I thought. But driving a Ferrari is really an expeience that I will never forget.
Bologna has a bit of everything - sights, museums and most especially shops. Shopping is very easy since the shops are all close together and conveniently located under archways so sun and rain is no bother!!
If you went to Firenze, Roma, or other big cities before, you will feel that it is not much to see in Bologna.
nice city to walk around with many religious places and museums to see. restaurants serve good meal at reasonable price.
We came to the region to explore a 'foodie' region together with Parma. As it was december we had less daylight hours but we enjoyed them as well as a couple of nice meals.
Surprisingly lively city. Full of life but not touristy. architecture interesting but in a different way compared to siena or florence for example.
