"They don't have hot watter in the privete room, when we complained the guy at the reception lough at us that we don't know how to do it, after we argued with him for a while he admitted that they were aware of this problem and if we are not happy with the freezing water we can get only half of the money back and go look for another hostel. It took us about half an hour of arguing with the guy at the reception and two phone calls to the manager until we get our money back."Show more

Good standard rooms with a great private bath room. It’s rather a dpa then a hotel with spa, pool and fitness equipment.

"This was my second stay at Valle Escondido, I just love the tranquility that I experience during my stay. They have. a small Rver that runs through the property that embodies calmness & Stress free environment the beautiful flowers and well manicured surrounding is the perfect set up to de stress & relax. Their heated poor & Jacuzzi are another plus. The only improvement I would suggest is to improve on the food selection."Show more

"After some mediocre choices in the rest of Panama, we were thrilled to find the Hotel Valle del Rio. Rooms were well decorated, with lovely soft pillows and a very comfortable King bed. My husband is very tall, and other "King" beds in hotels were really more like doubles. The pleasant balcony overlooking the river was a plus after a day of hiking."Show more

The Riverside Inn
"The building looks like a big plantation-style home in the South. The room was very classy with tall ceilings, comfy bed, his & hers sink in the bathroom, and a waterfall shower head over the bathtub. It was relaxing and peaceful. The manager, Deysi, was very welcoming and friendly. There is a communal "honor" bar stocked with various drinks and liquors so you can help-yourself to a cocktail or coffee. The restaurant immediately next door is owned by this Inn and breakfast is provided there. We also ate dinner at the restaurant which has unique and delicious upscale options with a great price-value and lovely covered back patio to enjoy your meal next to the river. We loved everything about this Inn and would stay there again in a heartbeat!"Show more

"didnt really enjoy it; grubby; rooms had nowhere to hang clothes or put anything, except two tiny nighttables. kitchen, but grubby, and for first two days had no sink.
front rooms noisy with grocery store across the alley; back upper rooms better situated.
reception staff relatively helpful, but never saw any cleaners
plumbing didnt work well, our shower went from cold to scalding in a nanosecond - dangerous!!"Show more

Hostal Doraz
"The location of Hostal Doraz was the reason why we had chosen to stay there even though there was no prior reviews available, since we wanted to stay near the public bus to David and also the tour company that operates hiking trips in David whose office is located in a hostel around the corner. The room rate is inexpensive relative to other places where we have stayed in Panama but you get what you pay for. It is a very basic room which we didn't mind but what we didn't like was that there was no bed sheet between the bed and the bed spread. Also the screen in the bathroom seemed to have a hole so mosquitoes were able to come into the room and my husband got a few bites on his arm before we went to bed. We ended up wearing our long sleeve shirt, pants, and socks instead of our pajamas that night to protect ourselves from the mosquitoes while not using their bed spread at all. Bring your own sleeping bag if you want to stay here unless you don't mind about not having clean bed sheet."Show more

"Our friends recommended many good restaurants and Downtown Suites is located a short walking distance to many of them. We did not cook anything, but it was nice to have the option and the fridge came in handy for drinks. With the wind, a lot of fine dust was found on our stuff and it would be great if there was a way to seal out the wind completely. The hammocks in the back were great for spontaneous naps."Show more

"Our plan was to stay 3 nights, but we really liked it here, so we booked 2 extra nights! Our taxidriver had some troubles finding this place in night time. The breakfast was really good. For me it was the best breakfast I had in Panama! They have a whirlpool with a beautiful view! We really enjoyed this at the end of the day :) The owner knows a lot about the environment and can give you some good tips for trips! It's near to the center of Boquete. You can easily walk to the center(also in the evening)."Show more
