Traveling to Mexico? Find Cancun hotels

We had visited for a friends wedding the previous year and decided to go to another spot for a trial. After 1 night at the new resort we booked this place while in Cancun. We found the Foyer and main dining room remodeled and quality still up to our exoectations. The drinks selection could be improved but that’s only because I saw they have JW red label instead of Black displayed on the bars.

The reason for choosing this hotel is because I was under the impression that this is an all exclusive adults only hotel. But we were surprised that the hotel was swarming with children. Nothing wrong with it but just false advertisement and misleading information. It was even briefed to us that it is an adults only hotel. Jacuzzi was one we were looking forward to was overcrowded by children. Beach also starts to smell like sewage.

The beach is absolutely world class. Amazing sand and clear water. This alone makes the Grand Oasis worth it, but then you add in the 1/4 mile long pool, day parties/concerts, and views of Cancun from the Pyramid and the beach deck are breathtaking. The scene during March and April (Spring Break) is for singles looking for a good time. The bars and pool are always full of fun people. Not recommended for couples or families during this time at least. Stay away from the two Oasis Lite restaurants at either end of the property. These are the cheaper restaurants for people who did not pay extra for the Pyramid. It is easy to go there because they seem to always be open, but there is A LOT better food at the Pyramid only restaurants especially White Box and the buffet restaurant above White Box.

I have been to Mexico atleast 7 times, I have stayed at all-inclusives before. I consider myself and savvy travel shopper. Not just a value traveler, we also will do luxury. We had my daughters best friend from college with us. I had promised the parents not to leave resort due to the unrest in Mexico's political climate at this time. I chose this resort because it had enough amenities between both resorts (Royal Solaris Caribe) that they could play tennis, mini golf, all pools, hot tubs, restaurants, bars, kayaks and paddle boats. This was not the case. We were not premiere members? We were falsely sold our vacation. Also, as soon as we walked in the travel sales membership people were all over us! I'm sorry to say that I could never buy a time-share of any sort at this place because it is dated. If you wanted bacon at the buffet, you had to ask. There was water leaks and a musty smell. On a positive note, the beach is nice, the location is nice, the people that cleaned room GREAT!

We had a wonderful stay at GR Solaris Cancun Resort. This day was simply an additional day added on to our 4 night stay because we didn't want to leave! Peter, our concierge was a great help. The entire Entertainment Staff kept us included in all activities, and kept everything very fun! I wish I had half of their energy! Our servers, especially David in Marco Polo, and Mayky in the buffet, were exceptional! Wish they would have free WiFi throughout the hotel. Would have made booking another night easier. Also wish the food would have been a bit on the more exceptional side, but for an all-inclusive, it was good.

I had really a great experience staying in such an amazing resort . Location is perfect , u can find around lots of restaurants, shopping and clubs . Beach is nice and u can go to another beaches related to your neighbor hotels . I really loved my room with the amazing sea view and balcony . The room has been cleaned every day with changing a new bed set ! Stuff is really friendly , helpful ! U feel they care about you and as for me they support me in some questions . I recommend this hotel to everyone and if I come back to Cancun so deffenetley to First Americana Cancun ! Thank u to make my vacation . I hope see u soon .

My first Cancun experience became wonderful thanks to GR Caribe By Solaris. All staffs are very kind and helpful. All restaurant's foods and drinks are excellent. Especially Marco polo is my best place. Don't miss making the reservation. I have 4-year-old daughter. She loves all pools and Kids club. She enjoyed water slides again and again. If I had to pick up disappointment points, it is that they do not have a coin-laundry. We need to use laundry services with additional price.

hotel is big and spacious but very crowded. rooms big and very good. restaurants and bars busy and sometimes difficult to get a table. food ok and plentiful but not great. entertainment at night and tvs for watching sport. outside areas very good. beach and swimming were outstanding. water service to sunlounges. good tours desk. some staff very difficult to deal with and night mamager on check-in was rude and unhelpful. no 'old part of town' to visit in cancun. weather great.

There was a group of four of us that went down for a week vacation and stayed at this property. We all four had the best time of our lives at this place. The staff were very professional, friendly, and accommodating. The hotel was 5 star hands down. The location was perfect, in the middle of everything you needed within walking distance or riding the bus too. We have now found our new favorite place to go whenever we go back to Cancun, MX.

I was extremely disappointed when arriving at the hotel and decided to move out early because of the noise from the neighbouring venue.. a BIKER BAR! They were playing VERY loud music all night long and attracting nothing but sketchy characters. The staff was kind enough to cancel my 2nd night though and help me find other accommodation.

Beds are comfy, the place is clean, and it's a great place to meet fellow travellers. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. I loved the free yoga in the morning! Would 100% come again (alas, I am trying to avoid cancun haha).

The food, the service, beach, night life activities, friendly staff and large comfortable room all made this stay very enjoyable and would recommend Dreams Cancun to everyone I know.

Good location for Cancun -- near the big clubs and right on the beach. Taxi drivers all through Cancun, especially at the airport are horrible. If you want to travel around, or even have a group, rent a car. The Hyatt is one of about only 5 hotels in the area that is not an all inclusive. Whenever negotiating to buy something, including taxis, don't ask how much in US dollars, ask how much in Pesos. This will save you about 25%. Best to always pay in pesos also, for same reason. There are 2 buses that run up and down the strip. They cost 8.5 pesos, and they will give you change if you use small bills. To exit, go to rear of bus and press the stop button.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel which has 2 pools which are immaculate and beautiful well maintained garden surrounds. Tennis courts are free to use and the complimentary racquets were better than my own racquet back home! Walk out onto the beach which although not quite as nice as the beach on the eastern front, is protected from the wind which was blowing a gale on the eastern beaches. Its a US$10 cab fare to the restaurants/bars/clubs of Cancun although the bus system is very easy and efficent and costs less than US$1 to get to where the night action is.

The entire staff especially Adriana did an exceptional job to make our stay enjoyable. Our room was exceptionally clean and quiet the view of the ocean was amazing the pools were warm and clean and inviting, and the music was superb. This was a hidden gem that I am happy to have found. Thanks again to Adriana and to the staff at the Westin spa and resort in Cancun.

I travel often and have good reference points to assess the value for the money . This property is really overpriced. The rooms are average at best, there's no garbage can in the rooms. my room was advertised as "ocean view" but really had only about 5 degrees of view of the ocean. When I checked in which took 15 minutes, I heard literally 6 people asking to be changed to a different room because the view was not as promised. Food was below average. The beach at this spot is terrible , there is nothing blue or turquoise about it. The location is far from everything 45 min to Cancun, 45 to playa, 1h30m to tulum. The only thing to do here is to stay in the property and spend all your time eating at the limited restaurants (4 in total, which is not a lot of you take into account that they have 20-something buildings).

good place. wonderful artwork around the hotel, it is more like a gallery with rooms. when in cancun, particularly the hotel zone, location is not really that important. there are buses that run out the front of the hotel to take you into cancun centre, as the hotel is about half way up. it is next to a high market shopping centre, which has convenient stores as well as high fashion. there are some wonderful restaurants in walking distance (la distilleria). it was small enough to feel cosy but luxurious at the same time. it looks a little like a greek palace, but there is jacuzzi's on the balcony and the rooms are huge. would stay there again and recommend it. thoroughly enjoyed my stay there.

We absolutely loved this hotel. IMO the best location on the island - that is if you like to be as close to the water as you you can get and if you like it quiet. If you need restaurants and nightlife close-by it is not for you. There is snorkeling and swimming as well as a dive shop on-site. The rooms are well appointed but a bit worn. They were reasonably clean. However, they need to get rid of that terrible masoned wall/ledge thingy that is directly in the way between bed and bathroom. It is hard to avoid tripping and severely hitting you legs - ouch! We loved the view from the balcony. Room service was great. The restaurant food was really good, too. Great plus that the rooms were not musty (we saw two rooms)! Well done. First we were given a twin instead of a king room - despite double checking while checking in. They showed great service when they made it possible for us to get back an item we forgot at another Avalon hotel - thanks a lot Avalon.

The staff were very helpful, the hotel is charming and the view is beautiful! It’s peaceful and off the beaten path (and touristy hustle of the North shore), which was perfect for us. Thank you for a lovely stay at La Joya!

Finding a good hotel in Cancun is quite hit and miss but La Quinta did not disappoint. It was a great value and lived up to my high standards of cleanliness and service. I also felt very safe and secure here as a solo traveller. If you want to stay in downtown Cancun or cant afford one of the beach hotels, this is a very good option. Highly recommended.

hotel location near the shopping center (walking distance) morning breakfast was good , the last day we r early morning flight 4.30 pick up, but hotel still prepare the simple breakfast for us, thank you so much, will stay at this hotel when one day i go back to cancun.

I can't think of any cons except maybe the water pressure for the shower but it really wasn't a problem. The hotel is in a great location and everyone was great.

I was a little when we realised we would needed to spend a couple of nights in downtown Cancun, we previously stayed in the hotel zone. I shouldn’t have been. Smart Cancun by Oasis is a perfect place to base yourself either for a stopover or even a holiday. We loved our room, which was labelled as standard but was far from standard (or what we call standard). We had a large room, huge bed, road side balcony, massive tv, coffee machine and percolator, safety display box and daily beach towels. Plus the welcome information, and anything else you wanted to know, was held on a tablet which also controlled the tv. We didn’t have breakfast with our booking (do so if you can) but paid 130 MX peso each for an unlimited amount of good quality breakfast each day. The pool area is great with lots of sun loungers, shade from palm trees and jacuzzis. Plus the staff are all super friendly (especially Rosalia, Jose & Iris). Only slight thing that could be improved are the cardio machines in the gym, they could do with a refresh. Local restaurants cater for all cuisines and budgets. The fish taco place opposite does a mean mixed ceviche taco for 45 MXN pesos which can be washed down with a reasonably priced beer. Rino’s Italian restaurant is also another gorgeous place to visit while you are here. We loved our reasonable priced stopover at Smart Cancun by Oasis and would recommend to others.

When we came to check in I presented my confirmation from agoda, which showed that I pre paid. The employee working the counter said he could see my reservation but insisted that I needed a PIN number that I “should have received” (I didn’t) in order to complete my check in. He wasted 30 minutes having me forward him my reservation and fumbling through his computer before I eventually convinced him to place a hold on my card to give us the room. At check out we had the same issue they said we would have to pay again until I showed them my credit card statement and even though they claimed they had no record of the charge they eventually came back and said they could complete the charge and I was OK to leave. On top of that the room was very muggy, AC didn’t work well, and the resort is clearly made for spring breakers but I guess that’s what you get in Cancun.

The hotel is excellent. Located in the hotel zone of Cancun so everything is near. The room is great, breakfast is really nice, there's a nice pool (and also one pool for children), and the hotel is right on the beach!

Speechless. I never imagined making such a proposal in my dreams. My fiance told our story and everyone were so jealous. A huge thanks to Jorge Nolasco for helping to prepare all this. I was texting with him through the WhatsApp for around 2 months to prepare the romantic dinner, and for our luck, there was a veggie menu. On the same day it was supposed to rain, and Jorge tried to find an alternative in case it would be indeed raining. luckly for us, it wasen't, and we had a butiful dinner in the beach and we got to see the sunset. Everything was perfect, the food (I never eat so much in my life lol) the view, the beach. They made the decoration so amazing that I didn't even imagine that it would be like that. And the best part is that she didn't think that I would propose. I think that the pictures would say it all. So in one big word THANKS!!! thanks for making this experience that wouldn't be forgotten for life.

Property has 2 pools and had concerts. Family pool was closed and the other pool didn’t allowed children to be there. Paying a hell amount of money can’t probhit kids to be there at other pool cause it’s for youngster only. Didn’t respect the room type , booked a junior sweet and given a normel ocean view room. So if want book the hotel better without kids.
