Chamonix-Mont-Blanc hotels & places to stay

The hotel is located in a perfect location close to the Swiss and Italian border and Chamonix. You can choose from a great variety of hiking trails from very easy and short ones to advanced whole day trips. Vallorcine is perfect if you would like to have a calm place to rest after your day full of exciting activities. The hotel staff was very helpful and managed to assist us with several queries (we traveled with our 9 month old daughter). The wifi is very good and a parking spot is available with the room. Would recommend for sure.

my very first impression would be staff...the staff were so friendly and helpful, especially sandra.... i amazed to beautiful design of the hotel, they give us coffee time 24 hours...afternoon tea with delicious meal and drink i got room with balcony, and the view from balcony was very amazing the hotel located in heart of the chamonix, so you will very easy to go around the city...it is also very near from many attraction (5 minutes walk from gare montenvers and chamonix station, 10 minutes walk from aiguille du midi cable car station) perfect place in amazing town...definitely would return again if i had a chance to be here again...

The Hotel de l'Arve is a bungalow type of hotel for skiing and mountain hiking travellers. I found at the entrance of the hotel that it boasts a 2-star Michelin restaurant within the hotel, so I booked the dinner, but the staff told me that the restaurant was closed for dinner, they only served for breakfast. The room was nice with the window facing a small river. Some of the rooms can have snow capped mountain view. The hotel was closed to many restaurants, one of which was my favotite Chinese restaurant called 雪園飯店, where you can find authentice Chinese dishes. The hotel provided a visitor card for checked-in travellers which can take the buses for free within Chamonix. One point which rather disappointed me was that the wi-fi in the hotel was very slow.

The stay in the hotel was very lovely. The breakfast he’d a wide of choices. The staff was helpful and kind especially soraya And the location was 5 minutes from Chamonix center , pool was nice treat at end of each days traveling.

I have stayed here 3 times. I have stayed both winter and summer - it is only a 10 min walk from the centre of Chamonix and right next to the bus and train stops if you're carrying skis. Very friendly staff. Breakfast and dinner are both very tasty and good value.

Since we arrived late, the first thing we find at the reception was an A4 sized note with my name, room number, and "Bienvenue Welcome :)". We felt home straightaway after hours of flight, waiting at airports and van shuttle to this hotel. We arrived late at 8:30pm, and although we'd been informed that keys will be there for us since reception closed at 8pm, Richard was still there, seems to be waiting for us (perhaps he's worried, us being Asians). Hospitality was at its best during our 2 nights stay. It feels like a ski resort and home, more than a hotel to us. Room was more spacious and better from the photos shown on Agoda, not something we expected. We got a balcony with mountain view (Mont Blanc on far right), and waking up with bright white mountain just in front of us was heavenly. They've got Wifi for guests and we're able to share our photos instantly, bathroom was at its best condition. Bar below looks cool, patron seems to be local, but we're too tired to check it out. Choice of breakfast was not in large but we're talking about quality here, everything was at it's best here. Must try their croissant, best we had in our life (no kidding). Yogurt, cereals, juices, coffee, butters, etc, is simply delicious. Either this hotel source the best for their guests, or because it's France, we couldn't tell. Hotel is 1.9km from the town center, but we enjoyed every bit of the less than half an hour walk there without taking transport to and fro. There's a Chamonix bus stop a stone throw away, and town center (Tourist Office) is 2 bus stops away. Take the walk anyway, after all, that's why people visit this valley ain't it. Extra feature is that within 50 metres away from hotel entrance, you can see Mont Blanc, clearly.

We enjoyed our stay at Mountain Highs, it was on the outskirts of Chamonix which made for a longer walk if you wanted to get downtown, but on the upside, you were not far from the Aguille du Midi. You could catch the free Mulet at the hospital to save yourself some walking. The kitchen facilities were a nice option, we found the rooms to be quiet and enjoyed the full bedroom with our own bathroom option. The staff were welcoming and accommodating when we needed storage for our bags on the day we were leaving. I would recommend them if you are looking for an inexpensive option in Chamonix.

i was welcomed by the receptionist with a warm smile who promptly led me to my room. nice and cosy chalet to stay in at chamonix. although the bus frequency to the hotel was long, it was worthwhile to stay far away from the city to get more tranquility. wonderful!!!

My wife and I stayed here during a couples retreat vacation through France and Switzerland. All of the other guests at this hotel seemed to be mountaineers and climbers. So we felt a little out of place. Having said that, the climbers made very pleasant dining companions during the very nice communal dinner that was put on, and they all went to bed very early, which I appreciated. We got some of the best pictures of our vacation right around this hotel with the purple wildflowers and the mountains in the background.

a solid hotel in the heart of town. its not the latest and greatest hotel, but it is definitely worth a stay if you are watching your $$$$ or even not. rooms are comfortable and have a fabulous view of mont blanc. dinner and breakfast are served on the top floor with panoramic views of the town. staff are friendly. no complaints in the end for the price of the hotel.

Very good value for money for a 4 stars. Extraordinary location close to everything and with stunning views from terraces and balconies on the nearby summit of Europe, th world famous Mont Blanc and it's giants glaciers cascading down into the valley. Great bar and Boutique Hotel atmosphere, free wifi and parking. Rooms are nice even though small. Same for the beautiful but tiny swimming pool downstairs.

We were upgraded to a 2 room apartment, which was great and it had it's own kitchen. so we could cook our own meals. Lovely views on Mont Blanc. Great place to stay for the ski season or in the summer.

Hesitation cost me my original first choice hotel on Agoda.com as it was picked up by someone else, but for once I'm glad I hesitated, because Les Aiglons is quite possibly a wonderful choice! Close to the Aguille Du Midi Telepherique, it offers a spa-style sanctuary for holiday/thrill seekers. The double room i booked was reasonably spacious, clean, carpeted to keep one's feet warm, and came with a small balcony which offered a pleasant mountain view. Wi-Fi connection was stable, reliable and easy to connect, unlike other French hotels we stayed in. There was cable TV, and a safe to keep valuables. Staff were warm, extremely friendly and very helpful in offering hiking tips. Quite possibly one of the better and more comfortable hotels in Chamonix for an affordable price!

The reception was probably the most effusive welcome I have ever received. Fiona was simply marvelous. She greeted us at the gate to the private parking garage and took us though to reception while giving us an overview of the hotel facilities. Then while checking us in, she ever so gently inquired as to our plans in the most helpful way. We received a number of dinner recommendations and descriptions from which we selected a restaurant (all taken care of) and she gave us the scoop on going up the tram/gondola to top of Mont Blanc. I'd recommend this simply because of her service but the hotel itself is quite charming. A very lovely room. I will say that it was a little difficult to find access to the hotel parking (I had neglected to pay attention to the instructions in the follow up email to my reservation so ... my bad). But one call put that all right (the hotel is actually in the pedestrian district). We loved our stay and would definitely return.

the staff of this little hotel is nice and helpful. the room was a little small, but as there's a lot to experience around chamonix, we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. as we stayed in the summertime, the room got quite warm during the night, but it was okay to open the windows (no noise and no mosquitos). we tried the breakfast one morning, it's quite basic but not too expensive. the hotel is located around 20 minutes out of the city by foot. during the day there's a free bus, but we mostly walked back and forth by foot. if you arrive by train, then make sure to get at the station located nearby the hotel (unfortunately we forgot the name).

Stayed for 2 single nights before and after mont Blanc walk Excellent hotel, large rooms, very friendly staff, great breakfast, centre of town. Only downsides, internet only available downstairs and and slowness of obtaining drinks at attached bar

No problems with accommodations. WIFI was available for purchase in the reception area but it was unreliable in snowy weather and very slow. The residence was economical. Spartan, but clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is convenient. There is no food or dining on the premises so making it a required field in the rating block above is pretty silly.

Very nice hotel with rooms view of the Alps plus a small balcony. food is quite good. snow sport there if you want. very romantic atmosphere. very near to Swiss.

Our stay at Chalet Les Frenes was extremely pleasant, the room was clean and the view from the adjoining balcony, breathtaking. The owner, Phil, was very pleasant, helpful and accommodating (way beyond what could be expected of him). We loved our stay here. It cannot be beaten on value for money in the area.

We had a great stay and would use the hotel again. Staff were friendly an accommodating. Excellent location. Lots of walks close by.

Really loved this small hotel - chose the double economy - rooms were tiny-ish and no view from our class of room, but they were impeccably maintained. Staff were kind and the housekeeping was done very well. Did not bother with getting the breakfast as the hotel is located just next to the downtown area of restaurants and shops, just on a quieter back-street...

Great location, close to town (right down the street) but it felt like we were in the country with a fabulous view from the large back porch of the mountains. Quiet, peaceful, comfortable and best of all breakfast and interesting conversations with the owner. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs and a nice living room downstairs. We felt like we were at home and nice to meet travelers from other places. Communication with Sofia was easy and thanks to her wonderful husband for breakfast of course and rides to/from the train station. It's probably a 10-15 minute walk if you know where you're going. We hope someday soon to return and do more hikes and we will stay here again.

The best Hotel in Chamonix in terms of everything, the view from the Balcony facing Mont Blanc is woooooooow, believe me you will not get a similar view from any Hotel in Chamonix, the way they maintain the room temperature, you will feel like sleeping the whole day, the Bed is so comfortable. They have excellent breakfast, This was my second time staying in this hotel, I really feel that I'm in love with this Hotel and I will not stay in any other hotel whenever I go to Chamonix

Right in the middle of the high Alps, only reachable by cog railway or hiking trail, overlooking the Mer de Glace glacier. Historical hotel beautifully updated, amazing views, terrific food, very helpful staff -- a truly unforgettable place to stay unlike any I've ever stayed in before -- a fantastic experience!
