“Staying at GRT Chennai hotel was my first time. I always have not had great experiences with hotels regardless of how great or reputed they are, but this one. I absolutely loved everything about GRT Chennai. Food, staff, cleanliness, entertainment and other facilities. I was 100% relaxed at the hotel. Staff were very well-mannered and helpful. They don't hassle you or even bother coming after you for tips. And that's one of the best things about the hotel. I liked the gym facilities and also the spa. Will definitely stay there again next time.”

“My favourite hotel in Chennai, Excellent service from friendly and helpful staff. Food is excellent as well. Highly recommended. Mr Elango and Ms Merly have also helped me several times along with many other staff.”

“I only stayed in Chennai for 1 night as a business traveler so after reviewing many hotels in Chennai on the AGODA website i decided to stay at the Residency Towers after reading some of the reviews, i found the hotel to be quite convenient for the airport, only around 30mins drive, the hotel provided me with the airport transfer as i requested and the driver waited for me even though the flight was delayed, i found the hotel staff to be very kind and helpful, unfortunately i had to checkout very early and therefore missed the Indian breakfast buffet, but the front desk staff organized for a takeaway breakfast for me, during my stay there i was missing my luggage from the Emirates flight so was unable to use the swimming pool and fitness facilities but i did have a look at these and it looked very nice indeed, also there is some big department stores within walking distance from the hotel and also many restaurants and convenience stores all within walking distance, i would be very happy to stay at the Residency Towers for my future trips to Chennai”

“I have not stayed at a five star hotel in Chennai before. But I have in other countries like Bangkok and Indonesia. It measures up where it needs to, like staff friendliness and service efficiency. But I would find fault in the old bathrooms and the lack of polish in their up keep of furniture. it's an old hotel so it's forgivable I suppose. The breakfast buffet was more than what I expected with the rooftop dining have very rich and tasty selection of dishes. Friendly staff in that restaurant made the 25 minute wait for our hungry slightly more bearable. Overall, it's what I paid for, so I really cannot complain much. But it's a good four star at best. Not five star.”

“This is one of the oldest hotels in Chennai, and so we did not expect it to be well-maintained. We booked it mainly for its location, in the heart of the city and closeness to the beach. But we were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and the fairly modern rooms. Washrooms are very clean and have the facilities that most guests would require: hot water throughout the day, clean towels, shampoo, toothpaste etc. Housekeeping services are excellent. Staff, right from bell boys to reception and housekeeping is very helpful and cooperative. The complimentary buffet breakfast has a wide range including South Indian items and American. Overall, a comfortable and safe place to stay in.”

“Having stayed in many hotels in various countries, I did not have much expectations for Leela Palace Hotel thinking it was just a normal local chain of hotel. I was so wrong. The service staff made me welcome from the very moment I arrived at the hotel. Room was fantastic with a view of the sea. Breakfast buffet was good with wide variety of international dishes. Beats all the international chain of hotels in India! Has to be the best hotel in Chennai and locat”

“My 2nd time here. As before had a fun time with the family. Hotel inside the best shopping mall in chennai. Would stay here next time just for the convenience of being near to all. Hotel has a vegetarian restaurant which will not hinder ones appetite in any way considering there are plenty of restaurants and eateries inside the mall. For a 4 star hotel i was disappointed not to find any toothbrush or toothpaste in the bathroom. Over all a must stay for anyone here on leisure or business.”

“I stayed in this hotel out of God's blessings at the time of India currency crisis. I was not able to find Indian currency in Singapore. Fortunately, after landing in Chennai airport the airport money exchanger was able to give me some badly-needed Indian Rupees for me to travel by taxi to this hotel. There is no way to walk to the hotel from the airport as the hotel is not next to the airport. Quality Inn Airport should provide round-trip free airport transfers instead of one-way free transfer to the airport so that it makes travel easier between the hotel and the airport. The hotel room is clean and the bed is cosy. Complimentary breakfast includes water melon and cereals but limited. Staff especially the bellman are friendly and hospitable. The lift is modern. There is no need to open the lift door manually unlike during my previous stay in another Chennai hotel. Overall, my hotel stay and holidays in Chennai are unforgettable.”

“I'm international traveler and I been in many places in world, this hotel is truly 5 star, they make you feel like home. The staff is super friendly, it spotless clean, it for sure has a great value on you money. I stay in other hotels in Chennai with bigger name, that not even close to what you get in this hotel. For sure will hieghly recommended”

“I was longing for a break after having a few hectic months at work.. was browsing thru the hotels in Chennai and after reading some interesting reviews of Hyatt, my sister and i thought we could give it a try..I would say i made a wise choice.. service was over the top.. room was great..check-in was smooth and fast, although it was a very early check-in, they still managed to accommodate us immediately.. just what we needed after a long nights of travel... i would like to give my credits to Mr.Murali (Asst Manager Housekeeping), he was extremely humble, friendly and efficient.. In general staffs of Hyatt are wonderful.. Will definitely be back again in my next visit.. Thanks again for the great stay...”

“I have stayed in other similarily priced hotels in Chennai and this one is the best by a long way. My room was large and everything worked including the hot water(not so in other Chennai hotels) and wifi. Pluses included availablity of restuarant (rooftop) as well as good breakfast. Staff contact was friendly and helpful.”

“I was on a business trip come short holiday where I had my younger sister with me who visited India for the first time. We was traveling around few places with a tight schedule. After our long travel from Bangalore to trichy and to chennai on the same day, we arrived at this wonderful welcoming hotel. Upon arrival we were greet by wonderful staff who always had smile on their faces. The front desk officers were very polite and made sure they did the check in process fast as they understand the situation of their guest. When we entered the room we could just feel the relaxation that we would get that night. The interior of the room was really good. We had a great sleep. The next day morning we had our buffer at the hotel itself. The choices of food was good, they had lots of variety, coming from Malaysia the paradise for food, we really enjoyed the menu that they offed. I should always say this again and again the staff at this hotel really cares about the satisfaction of guest. They don't even give you a minute to even ask for something, they keep checking if we need anything and made sure we had everything needed. After a whole day of shopping we came back to the hotel and it was Christmas eve and the hotel had special buffer dinner. It was really a wonderful dinner, they had too many varieties . The next day we had a early flight and I requested for a wake up call. The officers were too kind to be concern about breakfast as we had to leave at 5am. They got us packed breakfast in the morning and gave us when we checked out. We really enjoyed our stay here and have decided that this will only be the hotel that we will be looking forward to stay during our chennai trips.”

“I stayed at the Ramada Plaza, Chennai for 2 nights. I had a really good experience staying there. They ran out of the room type I had booked last minute, so they upgraded me to a premium room at no additional cost. As a solo woman traveller, I felt very safe at all times. The room was big, clean and comfortable. The staff are really courteous and great at service. I ordered room service a couple of times, the food though pricy is very good. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a good spread. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone travelling to Chennai.”

“Location is good. We stayed here for 4 Nights. The hotel is very near (walking distance) to famous restaurant like Amma Chettinadu Restaurant, Hotel Virudhunagar Chettinad, Murugan Idli, Pakwan Chennai and etc. The Pothys Boutique is also very near about 2 minutes walk. The best thing about this boutiques is that it provides free shuttle service To Pothys T Nagar. We enjoyed shopping at both branches. What I love most about Benzzpark Hotel is their hot water shower. My godness after a long tiring walk, you would enjoy satisfying hot shower. Food is meet requirement only. I have tasted better breakfast buffet in Chennai at similar rate”

“It was really worthwhile for every single money we paid. The room was clean, fit well with young modern taste and spacious for family. They have small cooking area which is unusual for 3 star hotel to offer, very handy for those who brings small children which need simple home cooking. Really happy with the hotel staff who is really helpful. The best part of the hotel is 24 hour check in which is great for those who want to check in and check out early. Overall, the best value money for 3 star hotel in Chennai.”

“This was the best hotel I stayed in during my travels in India. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the restaurant and bakery are open 24 hours, the rooms are nicer than most American hotels, and it’s extremely close to the airport. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we are in Chennai.”

“I and a friend from Singapore traveled to Chennai for a vacation, and the best thing we did was booking Clarion. It was value for money. The hotel was just a 5min walk from a mall and it might life much easier. We were able to a catch a movie at night and walk back to the hotel without any hassle. The staff were extremely nice and went out of the way to assist us whenever possible. The daily breakfast that we had booked was a bonus. The housekeeping service was done promptly and so was the laundry. I will surely recommend this place an go back to this hotel the next time i visit Chennai.”

“The Residency located in the heart of the Chennai city, 30 mins away from the airport which is very convenient to reach! I had a wonderful experience staying in the hotel, it has two restaurant offering delicious food, Chin-Chin is one the the best Chinese restaurant in the city. The whole hotel is covered Wi-Fi with good signal, saves me a lot of work for sending emails, searching the internet. In general, The Residency is one the best hotel in Chennai that i strongly recommend it to anyone who will visit Chennai in the future.”

“Location is superb. Two doors down the hotel is the Andra government tourism office which caters for trip packages to n fro to Tirupathi and picks up passengers here at the office. Great place to stay”

“Booking a service apartment was a terrible mistake because service apartment of ITC Grand Chola doesn’t fit the claim of being a luxury hotel . I booked the service apartment as I want my daughters to be in the same room. 1. The timber floor was a horrible sight with scratch mark everywhere like not polished for years. 2. The curtain in our room was crumpled and was a pain to the eyes. 3. There were dust on the TV decoder which was clearly visible. 4. The housekeeper who did the housekeeping job left his dirty shoe marks on the bathroom floor. 5. Water stain mark was clearly visible on the toilet bowl in the room 6. The balcony was very dirty and looks like a balcony in a non star rated hotel. 7. Reception staff needs more training to be courteous and warm. I have stayed in a number of 5 star hotels in Chennai and I did not expect this from ITC Grand Chola”

“I loved the friendly environment, kindness and caring staff. Truly professional staff in all departments - a remarkable five star experience. All the staff from front desk to house keeping, restaurant, etc were very professional and took very good care of us. Special mention - Ms Ceetai, Mr Sasi (Restaurant) and Mr Bala (Front office) they were very nice. The best service i have ever had, all staff with a big smile that's the most lovely thing i've noticed. This will be my permanent stopover for me all my future trips to Chennai.”

“We stayed in this hotel for 8 nights. It is not a lavish hotel, the rooms are a bit old fashioned but their service was amazing. Chennai is on a water crisis but whenever we requested some drinking water they provided it without any questions. And never charged extra. The rooms are spacious, clean and maintained every day. The location is in a residential area so not much traffic around the place. They have a nice restaurant, quite famous, on the first floor which serves north n south Indian dishes. Their breakfast is really good. The only problem is - access to their front door by car is not easily possible as it is at the side of the building. Blue Iris management should work on it.”

“We stayed here for two nights passing through chennai.. The hotel is beautiful and new, the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated with everything you need except there is no alcohol in the mini bar. We were swamped with three room deliveries of complimentary tarts and cakes on the first day with a note on only one of the tarts saying it was their tart of the day. We received no complimentary deliveries during our second day... Confusing! the hotel was only recently opened there remains some building works (daytime noise and paint odor as you move about the hotel). Additionally, the bar and specialty restaurant are not yet open so there is only one restaurant available for meals and drinks. The food was excellent ( western and southern indian) but expensive, as were drinks). I suspect the staff are currently being trained as service was really unpredictable, either there was noone around or we had three or more waiters trying to take our order one after another. The rooftop pool is an oasis; a lovely place to unwind after being out in busy, dusty, noisy, intense chennai. Depending on the room price, we may stay here again as my thoughts are that the staff are just finding their feet and learning how to communicate with one another all I'd which was creating small hiccups for us as guests, but the hotel has got the bones of a slick 5 star and hopefully will start to operate as smoothly as one shortly.”

“Was very surprised to see the rates for 2 Triple Deluxe Room. We were 5 Adults and 1 Child (6yrs). We got into the Hotel and the Staff were very decently dressed and greeted and allotted the Rooms Instantly. Everything went fine with our stay for 2 days. The Staff by name Pradeep was very helpful and also smiling whenever I approached him with query. Excellent and TRUE Illustration of Customer Service. Looking forward to book the same Hotel in future whenever visiting Chennai.”

“This Hotel shows that it is located on the Airport Road, however this is not true, it is 34kms far from the Airport and 55kms away from the Chennai Central. I booked this hotel on the perception that it is close to Airport but in vain. We spend 2600 INR from the Chennai Central Railway Station to reach to Hotel. Hotel Property is very nice as it is ITC brand, polite and helpful staff, good and wide variety of breakfast, tasty food - we took lunch and dinner in the hotel as their was no option to move out. I was totally surprised to see their Cab service charges - it's on a very higher side. Airport transfer is 1050 + taxes which is doubled as compare to Uber and Ola. We stayed at Fortune South Point, Trivandrum and the cab charges was very nominal and within budget. This is totally unexpected that same Facilities charges are so different. If you are looking to see the city then this hotel should not be considered.”

“I stayed at the Belstead for two days. I was on a work related trip. The entrance is almost invisible due to the pedestrian bridge stairs right in front of the hotel entrance. But once you enter the hotel, you can see it is a wonderful place! Apparently it was renovated two years ago and got its new name. Every detail in the hotel is superb. The rooms are well appointed and tastefully done. The service is great. From check in to check out, I had no problems with anything. The only thing I had a minor issue with is: Breakfast buffet doesn't start till 7.30 am. For business travelers, sometimes this is a bit late. If they could start at 7 am, it would be a great help. Apparently, the norm in Chennai is for breakfast 7.30 am and after. So I had to rush through my breakfast in 10 minutes so that I could leave for my appointment. This was the only downside. If they fix this, I really would have nothing negative to report. Overall, a great place to stay in chennai. I would highly recommend”

“We had a short stay here. Very friendly staff. Rooms were clean. Parking facilities outside. Lots of good restaurants near the hotel. Location also ok. Near to the chennai central railway. Only issue is this hotel don't have a scale. We have to take the bags outside to check the weight in any case. But helpful staff is always welcome for such matters. Overall I can recommend this place.”

“Room was decent but it was in front of the carpark/ entrance, was easier to bring visitors into my room though. Wifi was good. Weird for a "business hotel" not to have printing facilities for guests. Staff weren't as attentive as you'd hope (forgetting to give towel/soap/bottle of water after several requests) Staff would knock on your door at 7am to ask if you wanted tea/coffee which was annoying as they repeated this the whole morning (I couldn't be bothered telling him off - I'd usually crack it!) I ended up staying a few extra days as my flight was scheduled to depart from chennai airport. Not much to see in this city - shopping is ok though”

“one of the best budget accommodation I had in s.india, one of the receptionist is very helpful, the room is clean and location is good nearby the bus stand . I would come back here again if I am travel in this area”

“150 years at least of ever changing history left a lot of patina on this grand lady of indias hotel scene. With my first visit some 30 years ago Chennai and broadlands are one for me. Time changed also the kind of visitors to this icon. In the past it was given that one would spent weeks and months and a kind of family feeling would have been established while today's visitors got to know the stories around this institution and after a day or two a check is done on the list but you will almost always find some of the older returnees who might open a vault of stories around this building. Bring more time than just a couple of days and you might can experience what home meant to generations of travellers. I hope nothing will change in my lifetime.”

“I had such a fabulous time staying at Zostel Chennai. The receptionists were utterly helpful and welcoming. They taught me how to use Swiggy to order food and got a cab for me when I couldn't use Ola on my phone myself. They even printed my E-visa for me free of charge. The hostel is located in a posh area of Chennai with lots of consulates nearby. I made some incredible Indian friends here. I'll definitely stay with Zostel when I come back to India.”

“I highly recommend this property to stay. The staff is really excellent and helping. I was impressed by great hospitality of Mr. Suresh. Thank you so much brother. I will again visit the place if I travel to Chennai.”

“check in with the hotel on 23.11.2018 with 6 guest. Arrival after midnight. Very good staff and very alert about their guest arrival. Immediately three staffs came and carried all the six luggage's up to our roomd. Room was very clean, unable to complain since it just for a night at very affordable price with good cup of coffee and tea with 3 choice of the morning breakfast. Overall the Manipuri staffs were very good and kind and respectful. Again bring all our luggage down to the taxi. Good for those coming in late flight to Chennai.”

“Save your money, and book your stay elsewhere, for the same budget. This is a shabby hotel, in a dilapidated old building, that is not elder friendly (no elevator, bad stairs). Bed linen and towels are old, and have a yellowish unclean look. Toilet had stains, fittings were cheap, and of poor quality. Included breakfast is adequate. But you can have that anywhere outside without breaking your bank.”

“The room were very nice and clean. But the front road is disappointing. The road going to the hotel will shock you. Otherwise loved the hotel.”

“I felt very safe at the hotel. Being a single, female backpacker safety and security is very important. The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the manager who directed me to Pondicherry on buses to avoid expensive rickshaw drivers who had already tried to scam me :)The location is central and the room was clean and basic, perfect for someone on a strict budget.”

“This hotel's check out time is after 24 hours from check in time. I wish all hotels are like this!”

“We spent most of our time in the hotel because to be honest there was a not a lot to do in Chennai. The hotel was a comfortable haven from the chaos outside.”

“Mangers keep calling for payments which already paid to Agoda. Asking again and again and again for payment details with Agoda. No bottle of water served during 1 month stay 2 bottles of water given.”

“Very small room, employees are very friendly. Breakfast is not very good. Location is OK if u come for treatment in Apollo. Overall mediocre more experience”

“This hotel is located in few minutes walking distance from Tambaram main bus stand. Besides this, there is no many facilities to say in this hotel. The breakfast what I had is a decent tamil nadu breakfast like Idly, Dosai, Pogal etc...”

“Cheap and close to the station which is good. Room was average, bed was quite hard, only one towel for 2 people. Fan worked well to cool us when on max setting but then it was very loud. Also no sound isolation, you can hear people talking loudly in the morning. Bathroom was very old and grimey, but it did appear to have had a basic clean. Porter staff seemed nice, desk staff not so much. Good if you need a cheap night near the central station but not much else going for it unfortunately.”

“Staff were nice enough, room was clean, no top sheet but upon request we were given one, location is right next to a train station, well ot opposite but a 5 or 6 min walk which was handy, they have a 24hr only policy where by if you book a room you only have 24 hrs in the room so we checked in a 7.20am and was told we had to be out by 7.20am the following day, i simply refused this and offered a 9am checkout time which they said yes to, i feel if you pay for a room and can check in then the checkout time is standard 11am or what ever time is stated but the above rule is a bit petty, i would have waited had we not been so tired from a day and nights travel....overall the stay was fine with no complaints just a few gripes, if this hotel changes a few details i could recommend to other guests but for now there are cheaper and vetter options in better areas of the city...”

“I arrived late and so initially it was a but of a hassle. However, in the morning, they manager and secretarial staff could not do enought for me. They do not have WIFI but they personally took me to an Internet bar and also to the lovel hotel to show me a decent place to ear. IAs a painter and a photographer, I loved the area. IThe Tahngam Balaji is in a local neighbourhood with temples, markets and tea shops..the local bus is convenient to get one to all places..So I for the price, I rate this as an 8”

“I came here because it was halfway between the airport and the Ramachandra Medical Center. Its a bit out of the main city center but is accommodation itself is fine. You can see a full review at SurviveTravel.com/samrat-guesthouse-review-chennai”

“It was a really fantastic stay at Keys Hotel Katti - Ma, Chennai with my family. Hotel Staff welcomed all of us in a Royal Manner. We really surprised after our welcome. Hotel staff and room service is really appreciable and remarkable. I definitely recommends Hotel Keys Hotel Katti - Ma, Chennai, if you are planning to visit Chennai. The best part is location. It is in the Center of Chennai. The Hotel Staff especially, Madam Rashmi, Restaurant Manger is really good and admirable. She always took my baby and keep with her until I and my wife not finished our Food. Really, Nice behavior. I should say that Hotel Staff is the Crown of Hotel Keys Katti Ma, Chennai. Best Wishes.......10 point out of 10 points.”

“Hotel was good. But Agoda is very bad because I paid the full amount in app but when I went to hotel they collect the belance amount. so Agoda is not give the full amount to hotey”

“So I wanted book a hotel for five days in Chennai. Hotel Pandian was my choice. It costs me only LKR 12,000 for all the five days with breakfast and premium Wi-Fi included. There internet sevrices are good too. But you can use only one login details for one device. So if you want to log from two or more devices, ask from the reciption for more login details. Food was okay. Variety of selections. Lunch and Dinner are bit expensive though, comapred to the restaurants nearby. I had a single room. Pretty clean. It had only a fan, non-A/C. If you are staying here for two or more days, go for a A/C room. Lots of taxis and tuks nearby. Also Uber’s. Staff was friendly. Not everyone though. That’s alright. Not on the main road. You need to walk a bit from the main road. Very safe place. Walking distance to Egmore railway station. People around were okay. If you are on a budget, I highly recommend this place for solo and family trips.”

“Stayed for two nights as part of a business trip. This is a really nice business hotel. While I do not know whether I should call it as a "five star" hotel (may be the government has lowered standards/ ambiance required for 5 star!), I would consider it as a great place for business stay. The best part of this hotel is its staff. Room service staff were very quick in response and very courteous. Front desk and travel desk were also very helpful. The ambiance of the hotel is okay, and I wouldn't say its the best. The colour scheme inside resembles more of a casino, than a luxury hotel. I would also say that the entrance door of the hotel with advertisements looked very odd! May be the management should consider replacing it with a see through door.”

“This is my first stay at this hotel. The check-in was quite smooth and the room provided was very clean and well maintained. The staff were very courteous. The room as such is quite big and comfortable. The bathrooms are well stocked and clean. It is what you can expect of a hotel of this calibre. The breakfast had a good spread and the staff were welcoming. THe best thing about the hotel is it at the Guindy Kathiapra junction and is reasonably priced for a hotel which is just 10mins away from the airport.”

“Overall this is a decent hotel in fairly good location. But don't let the grand appearance of the driveway and lobby fool you. The staff service is at best average, while any poolside service is deplorable. Twice to took +30min for anyone to take an order, and when we did give them a sexond chance, it took almost an hour before a simple soup/salad/sandwich appeared. Breakfast area is nice, but buffet choices very limited. Room: fittings old and at the point of breakdown, several lights broken, crap view onto a roof, TV didn't work, minibar warm. Check-out desk didn't get the charge right so now the hotel is asking me to spend my precious time completing charge authorisation forms. I've been a loyal user of another hotel in chennai. I regret my choice to switch.”

“A great hotel with excellent management. Great experience started with my pre-booking inquiries by emails. Of the three 5-star hotels I contacted, Hilton was the most responsive, giving the most detailed information on tours and car service on the same day. Room size is good, not particularly big, but very clean and comfortable. Lighting is just right - bright but warm. Hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The first hotel staff we met in person was the hotel rep who picked us up at the airport. The rep was in hotel uniform, looked professional and was very courteous. Concierge staff who helped us with our tours and the lady Front Desk Manager were particularly impressive, very composed and patient and always wore a smile, despite our complicated tour arrangement and demanding room requests. My special requests for rooms that I put down at the time of booking were all taken care of. You felt you're really welcome. Staff were attentive to details and courteous. I ordered some amenities but forgot to remove the 'Do not disturb' sign. The bell boy who came to my room with the items didn't knock at my door; instead, the front desk called to let us know the bell boy was waiting outside. Food was not so good as we wanted. Steak was fine; pasta, so so; Thai green curry chicken, not quite the taste. Food needs improvement but the multicuisine restaurant where we had our meals was comfortable. The hotel doesn't have great views anywhere, but the lady duty manager took effort and managed to find us a room with an ok view. Anyway, it doesn't seem easy to find a hotel in Guindy and Chennai city with great views. Overall, we were very happy with this hotel. We picked the right choice.”

“I would rate this place as one of the most professionally operated places among all hotels and service apartments in Chennai. And if you want all five star comforts, facilities and features......even better than many five star hotels .....at a significantly lower cost, do try this place out, it is an amazing experience. The entire service apartment complex is impeccably maintained. Facilities include a infinity pool, a jacuzzi pool, a kids play pool, sauna, a huge gym, two restaurants, kids play area, a bar ( under renovation when we were there ) , a lovely lobby and exquisitely appointed full service apartments. The single bed apartment was more like a studio with an open plan, a curved large sofa and two other smaller round cushioned chairs around a circular table, a long writing desk and chair, plenty of find wooden storage for your belongings, hair dryer, iron, ironing board, plenty of excellent bathroom supplies and a full kitchen including fridde, microwave , electric hob, washer cum dryer, utensils and cutlery, toaster, kettle , room safe, needle and thread, torch, fire extinguisher etc. Airconditioning is effective The furnishings are extremely tasteful, the room large, the beds too huge and very comfortable for sleeping. Plenty of lights all over the room and the bathroom. Bathroom includes a separate shower cubicle and large tub. Even five star hotels do not offer daily newspapers or wifi without charge, this place does. The wifi is decently fast. The objective of this magnificent place is to try and go all out to meet the needs of the resident, and anything you ask for is promptly attended to without any waiting. The daily breakfast ( included in the tariff ) is sumptuous and excellent. Hot food made to order includes pancakes, waffles , all kinds of egg preparations, dosas, french toast etc. Other options on the table include cereals fruit juices, cut fruit, stewed fruit, yoghurts, salads, breads, selection of marlalades and jams , and western and i”

“I stayed at this hotel twice on my trip to Chennai (trip to Pondicherry in between). The hotel is close to the airport and is a nice hotel. The staff are fantastic. In particular, Isaac (with the bell desk) went out of his way on both visits to make sure all was OK, checking on my flights to Mumbai to see if they were on time (heavy rain), etc. He was very attentive and fantastic. My only complaint is I wish the bicycles in the gym got more than just 4 Indian channels. BBC of CNN would have been nice. But, this is a small complaint, as I really enjoyed my stay here.”

“3 day stay in Chennai was spent in the hotel as travel was not possible due to floods - all meetings cancelled. However, the hotel is fantastic - gym is great, pool is fab and food is great. You can always depend upon the TAJ group - Chennai was underwater that god I was floating in a Taj hotel!”

“I have been a visitor to the Connamarra for some twenty or more years, this is one hotel in Chennai that I keep going back to. Resturants have been consistenly good, the staff always obliging and friendly, very clean, pool and garden, very well cared for. I am sure any discerning traveller would appreciate this hotel.”

“The hotel is beautifully situated close to Chennai and a short drive from Mallabapuram UNESCO listed site. We have a wonderful experience here which started with our welcome and staff quickly finding a room for our early check in. The staff continued to go out of their way to make our stay comfortable and sought to assist in all respects. The cottage was generously sized with a bathroom and an outdoor shower area. It was well equipped with wonderful bedding and pillows and flat screen tv with cable etc. Wifi available both in the room and around the resort. The beach is spectacular and the resort keeps its area very clean ( which is not the case on other stretches of beach). The pool is very lovely and relaxing with a swim up pool side bar. The hotel has a coffee shop which serves buffet - and two lovely restaurants which only open evenings one on the beach serving sea food and the other above the beach serving mediterranean. Both were very good and my only criticism is that the a la carte was just okay at lunch in the coffee shop ( the only choice for breakfast and lunch).”

“Really enjoyed our stay at The Elite Grand Hotel. Everything from the check in to the check out was organised and the service never missed to please the customers. Impeccable Cleanliness every where in the property. Their package including the food was really worth to each buck paid. Excellent selection of foods available in the buffet. Rooms had every thing detailed to the next level. Perfect for Business travellers who need a place to wind and work both together. Overall Excellent experience at the property. Will do visit again and will surely recommend it for others.Thank you!”

“We went to Chennai to see one of the IPL matches over extended weekend. We reached Taj early morning and without requesting we were given our rooms by 9 am and even upgraded to a superior room. The registration and check in was a smooth process… I must acknowledge Mr. Simhan for the smooth registration process and also the tips on Chennai travel and activities in the next 2 days. The travel desk also helped in arranging the tickets for the IPL game (albeit a bit costly). There was a Sunday buffet brunch which had a wonderful spread and the quality of food was very good. Sreekanth and Mahesh from Travel desk too were very courteous and made travel arrangements for us within the city very well. Considering that I don’t speak the language and I did not have a India sim card, they made arrangements with fast track taxi, explained them how I wanted to move around in tamil making it convenient for us. If I come back to Chennai… its going to be Taj club house again.”

“We chose Gateway IT Expressway Hotel because it was closer to Mamalipuram ancient stone monuments and Dakshina Chitra heritage village than Chennai city madness. Only had 2 touring days so Pondicherry next time. Hotel was clean, functional with very obliging staff. Hotel tours/transfers were pricey but probably worth it for security & convenience.”

“We were looking forward to our stay at the Ambassador Pallava Chennai Hotel. From the moment we arrived were were greeted at the front door by a gentleman in a fine uniform, then a very efficient check in. What a nice surprise. Our large room was well appointed and cool on a hot day. My children were straight in the swimming pool to cool off. We had a really relaxing afternoon and a great sleep. Jancy attended to our room any of our needs with a beautiful friendly manner. Great work Jancy. If only we could have stayed for longer to enjoy this excellent hotel with it’s lovely ambience, but we only had one night. Will definitely be staying here again when we are next in Chennai. Thanks to all the staff who looked after us. David”

“we enjoyed our three night stay at the lemon tree hotel in chennai in january 2010. they provided pickup from the airport when we arrived in the very early morning. the room was quiet, clean and comfortable. breakfast was included in the booking price and there was a good selection of 'western' breakfast items, as well as 'indian' food.”

“This is the first time we are staying in a hotel in Chennai and even after providing the Photo ID's they took a picture. I have never seen hotel taking pictures of the guest anywhere in the world we have stayed. I'm giving one star for this policy and never ever recommend it for any traveler until this policy is changed. And I thought, it was standard practice in Chennai. Then we went to another hotel in Chennai and all we had to give was our photo ID. No photos were taken! We were given a room first, it had the damp/wet smell. Immediately after calling the reception, they switched to a new room. That was a good move on their part. Complimentary breakfast was good. We tried Dine-In room service and it was good as well.”

“I really loved the entry with perfect booking tracking at the reception. No errors of any such funny things, which blended well with an concourse to the clean and neat traditional designed decor room. I was fascinated by overwhelming vegetarian buffet which i didn't expect. But Truly the Veg Buffet was really nice and not overpriced with some discount.”

“I actually really liked the hotel, they got roof swimming pool which unfortunately we didnt have time to try...its right near the beach where nobody swims really but very quiet, coming right after trip in Delhi with noisy hotel, i actually had a good rest. but its far from shops and u have to get taxi all the time or walk a bit. but they go nice restaurant with SPA and night club...overall I liked, its good if ur on vacation to relax as Chennai is very busy and noisy but its quite a distance to some attractions, and whatever looks close on the map is not that close actually cuz of the traffic..”

“we were totally 6 adults and 2 children, booked 2 garden view rooms. Pros :- 1) Room - the room was very spacious and was good with the bath tub. 2) Morning break fast was good. 3) Staff's care for the Guests was very much appreciated. 4) Location - Very calm place to relax. Cons:- 1) House keeping - they should check the rooms before handing over to the Guests. There was problem in the Phone they provided. so we have to use the phone in other room for everything. In the evening the lights in the garden area was not working. Kids could nt enjoy the garden area in the evening. 2) Costs of the Food. its very much costly and we tried to order a cup of Rice and Dhaal for my 1yr kid, and the cost they said was Rs. 450/-. 3) They did not refill the water bottles in the next morning. and the room toiletries was not changed. place we can enjoy for a day and not more than that. NOT WORTH.”

“we returned to this very comfortable and luxurious hotel for another night. the staff at reception as well as everywhere in the hotel are very good and we had no problems at all. everything worked very well and the complimentary breakfast was the best we had in south india. would highly recommend this hotel to all travellers.”

“we stayed at hanu reddy residences (wallace garden) for a week in january 2013. we arrived in the early hours after a long flight but staff were ready to greet us and made us feel very welcome. it was our first time in india and we were very pleased with the location which was an oasis from the chaos of chennai roads. the room was very comfortable although we did have some problem with mosquitos which was quickly fixed by the staff. the south indian breakfasts were a real highlight and it was a great time to meet fellow guests in a relaxed atmosphere. a big highlight was a game of cricket with the staff in the back yard and claiming new zealands first wicket in india for a very long time ! highly recommend hanu reddy in wallace garden”

“Nothing bad to say. The interior decoration of room and bathroom are so nice. Good breakfast, well attitude from all the staff. Surely will stay again when visit chennai.”

“The Design Hotel is a great place to stay if you're in Chennai. The ground floor opens to the new Phoenix Market City shopping mall plaza which is pretty unique in that it boasts all the leading international brands so nothing is fake. On weekends they often have live music events in the plaza. More importantly, the staff at this hotel are exceptionally friendly and helpful. (The manager even loaned us his mobile phone to take across town in a taxi for an appointment.) The food in the hotel restaurant is also excellent. Each room in the hotel is uniquely designed (hence the name "Design" hotel). The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport. You can't go wrong staying at the Design Hotel.”

“Whenever going to Chennai for business trip, I only stay in Citrus Hotel. The service is much more better than the hotel I used to stayed nearby. Moreover, it is away from the busy & dusty main road. The environment is cleaner than other near roadside Hotels. I always recommend to my friends who go to Chennai near SIPCOT Industrial area to stay at Citrus Hotel.”

“I would return to this hotel in the future, as it is clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. Had some problem about check-out, but caused by misunderstanding, so not a real drawback. Security was, of course, not 100%, but reasonable and a genuine effort was made, though probably anyone planning major harm would not be greatly deterred. Not the fanciest hotel in Chennai, but very, very good.”

“It is very close to most of the prominent offices of the Chennai, so it is very good hotel as the proximity to all the major companies and being on the main highway it has good connectivity too.”

“Every thing about the hotel is superb. Staff and services have improved a lot. They give attention to detail and provide the utmost service to guests. Always enjoyed my stay there and will keep going there.”

“Hi i stay at this location for 3 days, I have done booking through agoda.com, i have paid agoda 7800Rs and i got bill from MWC club is of 6000RS, Saying Agoda has given them this much amount only. i said thats not my problem but they are not ready to listen and saying we will give bill for what we got from AGODA. In this case i have to spend 2000rs from my pocket. I am not happy with this and will not book here from next time.”

“There is only 1 bath Tawol. Not have any other. Bath Tawol is not white. Used too much and grayish. The bathroom (rest room was so high urine smell. I asked them to remove smell. Pillow covers also very grayish. Dirty. Please change new one.”

“Nice rooms, even though it looked old from outside, interior was perfect, the mini zoo was extraordinary and unique we got to spend time feeding cattles, goats, rabbits, ducks, parrot, dove, guinea pig. Kids loved them, we went there both days, clean green cricket ground, volley ball area, Badminton nets, few kids Play area ( which could be improved. ) food was tasty, moshi moshi was extraordinary except for heavy pricing which could be revisited, parisal in small venice like setup was awesome and unique. Also to add beauty to it were the quorum of fishes which entertained us everytime we visit them. Did i forget to mention the swimming pool, a clean kids pool with two choice one very much safe for a kid less than ten..it had artificial waterfall too to add more value, believe me one could feel the same effect as like how it would be to take shower in courtallem..a natural waterfall, the restrooms are well maintained, lokesh from food service was excellent in handling, overall awesome”

“Although the first impression of the lobby was disappointing, the check-in procedure was quite efficient. The room was well designed and the bed/pillows were very comfortable giving a good night's sleep. Response from House Keeping was prompt and smiling, and from room service efficient and food tasty. Lots of choice at the buffet breakfast, but the fried bacon was disappointing as it was swimming in oil !”

“My husband and I stayed here for two nights after a visit to Chennai and had my 22 year old daughter and a friend with us. Our room was 609 and was set furthest away from the sea but a more modern room, very comfortable. The girls were in an older style room closer to the sea front (521) but it was still a good standard. Had very bad experience in the restaurant on the first night. It was valentines night and they were putting on a special buffet for 650 rupees per person. We were not very hungry and had asked earlier if we could have a table and order from the menu and were told that was ok. Once we were seated the waiter insisted that we have the buffet and was rather rude when we declined. He eventually went off for the menu but only after many requests. He was obviously not happy after this time and was quite rude to us throughout the meal. We were given a customer satisfaction form and when we ticked the "poor" box for service he was very angry and brought it back to us saying "Change It". We were concerned about eating in the restaurant on the second night but it was much quieter and the service that night was really good (we had a different waiter). They are definitely trying to upsell all the time on food and drink so be prepared for this. They organised us a car for a half day sightseeing in Mahabalipuram (well worth a visit) and also a car for the airport. Prices were reasonable and drivers good.”

“I have visited STARWOOD Group of Hotels Multiple Times globally. This is the worst ALOFT Hotel. Mosquitoes in Lobby and even in the room. Hotel room daily necessities not available readily. it will be made available only upon request. This is the 1st time I am seeing this kinda standard in ALOFT HOTEL. Staff were slow but this may be due to their country customary practices but I would not blame them at all and would infact compliment them. One of the staff used his own accord to book a taxi for me. Ms Sunitha is an exemplary role model staff as she helped me handle multiple issues professionally. The A/C i the ballroom needs cleaning for more clean and viral free air.”

“It was my first time to Chennai and staying at this Novotel. It was the closest to my training venue. So location for me was good. I did not explore much, just for the workshop. The staff at the hotel were extremely polite and helpful, always with smiles. The room was relatively big and clean. Food was good too. except there are more choices in the room service menu than the a la carte menu at the restaurant. Would stay here again”

“Our first stay on this apart hotel, we thought it was really great. The room is clean and tv has english channels, though the room is quite small than other rooms in other hotels, but it’s ok. Food- the breakfast buffet offer indian cuisine only and we loved their dosa! The same restaurant - Hola, offers great mexican inspired food. We loved their Mexican chicken tortilla soup! It was amazing! Their chicken tacos is also great and ofcourse their nachos! You dont get nachos easily in this part of Chennai but the one in Hola is must try. Facilities- great pool view! It’s nice when the pool location is somehow in private. Some hotels pools in Chennai are located near the restaurant or reception area. I like that they have sauna and steam bath too! For these, i really give citadines, 5/5. Also, not all hotels gives you a kitchen where you can cook! They have almost everything you need in the kitchen aside from a cheese grater. 😅 So yeah, this is a major plus for me! 😂 2nd time staying- this time we booked it for 2 nights; all of the above remains the same except for one- our room. When i checked in, there is a lot of stuff missing- toiletries, slippers and robes. Aside from that, the last person who cleaned it left the rag or scrub she used right on the headboard of the bed- all this were ok because you can just call and ask them what you need which they will provide it immediately. What put us off is that on our second day, we decided to go out and thought that’ll be the best time for someone to clean the room. Before we actually call them for that, we had a doorbell and it is one of the staff asking if she can clean the room, which is great isn’t it? She started tidying up the table and then we left. We told her we’ll go out and she can continue cleaning up. When we came back, we were surprised that nothing was cleaned. The kitchen was still a mess and so is bed and the toilet. We were so disappointed and frustrated about it. It was good that the managers came up”
