I traveled as a solo tourist, I found the people friendly, with heaps of things to do, loads of historical places, free things to do with the kids such as the Grosvenor museum, the Military museum was only £3 and the Cathedral tower climb only £8 and well worth a look, see the whole thing from above and look out over Chester from the roof.
there are loads of castled locally, and the rows in the city are a must. 5*
A lovely city which has a fine mix of Roman & mediaeval buildings as well as the city wall. I would advise visitors to view the city using the tour bus & can be followed vup by a trip on the tour boat on the river Dee.
Many fine independant shops in addition to the usual chain/department stores. Foodies can really enjoy great cuisine in the city & enjoy a vibrant night scene.
A walk around the city walls is a must. There are so many pubs and restaurants and practically everyone is situated in beautiful old buildings.
There is such a wide range of shops and not just the normal chain stores.
A beautiful City with a lovely Tudor high Street. It is a really quirky place with lots of history, great shops and lovely bars and restaurants
