Traveling to Germany? Find Cologne hotels

I was visiting Cologne to meet my brother and to experience the Christmas markets. I found the Maritim perfectly located for the markets and the historic old centre of Cologne. We had a very enjoyable few days, the hotel was very comfortable, rooms spacious and the breakfast substantial and with plenty of variation. We enjoyed the open area and the bar and the general ambiance of the hotel..... and I would be delighted to stay in the Maritim on my next visit to Cologne. Many thanks, Orla (Ireland)

One of the nicest hotels in Cologne with really good prices- the rooms and bathrooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Very quiet hotel as well. The staff was very accommodating and the fitness room was quite nice as well. Would definitely stay here again!

This is the second time i have stayed here and it is the perfect location for Cologne. It is a 5 minute walk from the station and you can get all over Cologne with ease from here. The staff at the check in were again great. Very courteous and professional which for me is essential when checking in it gives you a good feeling about the hotel straight away. The rooms are small but spotless and is great for a long weekend.

aeound 5 to 7min walk from the train station but if you have luggages like us it will take longer. a liitle hard to find esp if u dont have gps. hotel is a bit old but with a relaxing ambiance. we booked a standard double room but they gave us a deluxe room. complete toiletries and slippers provided with free bottled water on the first day. compared to other european hotels we stayed in this hotel is great value for money. btw the indian lady and i think german lady in the reception are very accommodating. thumbs up to them. they are also kind enough to keep our luggages before oir check in and after our check out. if i will come back to cologne i would still love to stay with them.

It is a very nice hotel which is in the middle of the Cologne city centre. The location is great - very close to everything you might want to do while you are visiting. Public transportation to anywhere in a walking distance from the hotel. 7 minutes walking to the central shopping areas, and all kinds of food around this area. The staff is great and happy to help with everything.

We stayed one night and had a very good stay. We arrived by car and the arrival was easy. During check-in we recieved a ticket to the car parking located below the hotel. So we could carry the luggage directly from the parking to the rooms. The check-in was fast. The rooms was very fine and large and very clean. The AC worked perfectly and wifi was stable but with a little tricky log-in. Need to reconnect at every longer disconnect (little irritating) Only wifi for 2devices are included in rooms. The location is good. Approx 10min walk along the river to the Cologne Dom. The breakfast was excellent. One of the best breakfasts during our vacation. I highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely return.

Stayed 3 nights at the hotel. The location of the hotel was just 4 mins walk from the main station - Koln HBF. Walking distance to the Cologne Cathedral as well as the shopping streets and eateries. The room is spacious with clean toilets. Overall, the stay was good for us and will definitely stay in Wyndham if we were to visit Cologne again.

We enjoyed our stay,lots of parking space at the hotel at a cost of 7.50 euros per day though but cheaper than other hotels. The family room was a bit on the small side though compared to other Accor hotels I've visited. No mini bar and entertainment was in German, English channels were mainly for news. Good swimming pool, sauna and fitness center all free of charge though. The amenities are a bit small though for the size of the hotel, maybe they will increase since renovations are taking place.Very friendly staff and great breakfast. We did not dine in the restaurant for lunch or dinner. Hotel is about 8 - 9 km from Cologne city center but there are shopping centers nearby, one just across the road with a DIY, supermarket, shoe shop and clothes shop. Rooms overlook roads and buildings.

I first visited cologne 6 years ago whilst on business. It was only for one night. I arrived late and left early, but i do remember it was a "nice hotel". So when i had 4 days on holiday in Cologne i immediately thought to book the Pullman. I'm so glad i did, as it was one of the best hotel experiences i had enjoyed in many years. My welcome was outstanding. If i owned a hotel i would immediately try to employ the receptionist that checked me in. She was professional, friendly, well presented, knowledgeable, and gave me all the information i needed to enjoy what the hotel had to offer. I booked a deluxe room, but was able to pay a little bit more at check in to get into a junior suite with a sepetrate lounge room and HUGE windows that looked out over the old city..it was magnificent. Plus there was a promotion on where the mini bar was included. The basics: the bed was VERY comfortable as were the pillows (there was a selection to choose from). The Television was good quality, but only a small selection of movies in English available. The in-room dining was of the highest quality and i made use of it on several occasions. (Seriously delicious). The bathroom amenities were top quality and the bathroom was spacious and well appointed. More towels in the bathroom could be useful. Location is perfect if you are planning to go shopping, eat out or explore the cool parts of Cologne, as its only a short and easy stroll (10 minutes) to the furthest parts of each of these. Lots to see and do in Cologne, and the Pullman is a quality hotel with EXCELLENT staff, who take good care of you. Special mention of Kinga from housekeeping who was a great ambassador for the hotel and Cologne. Very helpful with suggestions on where to go and what to do, all with a cheery and kind attitude. Much appreciated. I plan to return for a longer visit next year and i will definitely be staying at the Pullman....anywhere else would be a step down in service, professionalism and quality. 10/10

Overall it is a good experience to stay in Art Hotel. It only 6 Euro taxi driving distance to Cologne exhibition. A quite area, and takes 10 min walking to downtown area. The breakfast buffet is nice and lovely.

I had a good rest in this hotel for a small money (I was booking a room with discount). I like this hotel for it's location: about 2 min by walk from central station (Cologne HBf), a good view from window (at the The Cologne Cathedral), clean room and a friendly staff. Can’t say about eat because my booking was without breakfast. Surprise was a cool air in the room and a cold floor. Perhaps, it’s very subjective but I can’t make a temperature in the room higher (climate control not working). However, I got a good impressions after visit this hotel.

We booked as a result of a mix-up with a booking at another local hotel. (My fault, not the hotel!) We found the Premiere Classic at Cologne West to be equally good at about half the price. The breakfast was plentiful and most enjoyable and the staff were very helpful. The room was spotless and comfortable. If we find ourselves in Cologne again, we would not hesitate to stay here again.

After renovated is quite modern. A distance of walking to the town & train station but we enjoyed the walking. Located at the main road but quiet area. Will sure to stay here again if visit Cologne again.

I travelled to Cologne twice a year for past 15 years and Mercure Friesentrasse hotel is my first choice but in some cases the hotel rate is three times which is too high for me to cope, generally I like this hotel and will continue to stay subject to the normal room rate

It's located in such a great location that you can visit almost all important places by walking or you can get bus/taxi at your doorstep. The Cologne central station is not too far. A good Indian restaurant also there nearby in a two minute walking distance. It provides free WiFi, free coffee on a 24x7 basis too.

When we arrived the hotel had no knowledge of our booking from agoda but the man on the desk sorted this for us .Rooms are clean and spacious shuttle was also very useful but its only a ten minute walk to the train station and then 15 mins into town

Despite the name "Mariella Airport" the hotel is located in downtown Porz, a part of Cologne, about more than 5 km away from the airport without direct transfer possibilities. No shuttle, nothing! The next tram staion is 400m away, the S-Bahn (train) is about 1,2 km away. Arriving late at night you have to go by cab, which is an additional € 15.- . The hotel itself is ok for the low prize under thirty euros. Rooms are small, but everything is clean. Breakfirst is not worth the additional twelve euros. To Cologne centre it will be a walk of around 8min, then a ride on the gtram for about 25 min. Porz itself has nothing to offer, only the river banks of the Rhine are nice.

A very good stay here with only one minor complaint: I assume the mattress we had was new as it was ROCK hard. To the point where I must have slipped off the pillow during the night onto my cheek, I woke up with tooth ache! Otherwise, the facilities were incredible for the price, the bathroom extremely well furnished and the building kept incredibly clean. A stylish little escape in the middle of a busy city, we heard very little noise during the night even with the windows open.

The hotel was very close to the Cologne Hbf and is close to all the attractions nearby. One thing to note is that apparently, according to the reception staff, there's a newly imposed accommodation tax by the Cologne city - would have to pay around 5 euros over the counter.

When I got to the hotel door it was locked with a note asking me to call a phone number. Fortunately I had my mobile with me, otherwise it would have been a pain. After calling the number, the owner explained that I was the only guest at the hotel and gave me instructions on how to find the key to enter the building and access my room. He asked for the time I wanted my breakfast the next morning and he came and cooked it just for me. I was the only person in the building that night. Strange experience!

When we planned our trip to Cologne, we knew we would want to stay near the station and the town center. Cologne Marriott Hotel definitely provides the best location. The service was OK, comparing to other hotels in Germany, this is one of the OK ones, the rests are worse. The staffs are not as friendly as we have expected for a 5 star hotel though, but acceptable.

Stayed here for three nights with my girlfriend mainly to visit the Christmas markets. The hotel is very good value for money and offers a very good breakfast that was not included in the package that we had but it was worth the money. The reception and breakfast staff were multilingual with excellent English and were friendly and efficient. The room we had was small but it was clean with a comfortable bed. The toilet was squeezed in with little planning and you had to sit at an angle. Overall the bathroom was well equipped and included a hairdryer and a free shower gel if you have forgotten your toiletries. The Hotel has underground parking for those who require it. We used Cologne's excellent public transport with the nearest tram station only 5-10 minutes away. I would characterize this hotel as more of a businessman or workman orientated hotel over a couples retreat but we hardly stayed in the hotel as Cologne has so much sights and places to visit.

Avoid the "Dependence", otherwise known as annex. It's loud and - as the name would suggest - seperated from the main building. That means seperated from the amenities which make this hotel worthwhile - the pool. During this stay, the sauna was out of service - there was no indication of how long this had been the case, nor when it may become useable. The pool, however, is great. Parking on the hotel grounds costs 15 Euros per day, on the street between the annex and the hotel is 4 euro per day. There are plenty of bakers and cafes nearby, so don't bother with breakfast at the hotel. The restaurant is good, but not exactly cheap - the wine list is short. The location is perfect for anyone wishing to see Cologne - near to the river and a comfortable ten minute stroll to the Cathedral.

We booked a room with private bathroom but when we arrived, the receptionist said it's full and they booked us a room with a public bathroom. It was frustrating but good thing their toilet is clean and no one took a bath during the night and morning, only us! The room was big enough and clean. Location is very near to the cathedral and train station. This hotel is best for back packers, not for family trips.

prof. welcome, fast check in, friendly front office, ideal location for traveler with own transport: major highway easy accessible, cologne airport , and Messe Koeln near by. Very good 4star room standards. Restaurants near by. (Hotel does not have own restaurant but that is no problem at all.

I was visiting Cologne with a friend and spent just one night at the Courtyard. The hotel is located less than a ten minute walk from the train station which made our arrival and departure quite painless. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff and checked in quickly. The room and bathroom were extremely clean and our twin beds a good size. The level of service we received at breakfast mirrored that of check in. Breakfast itself was delicious and there was a wide choice of food. An excellent experience well worth repeating.

This hotel was on a quiet side street in Cologne, but only a few minutes walk to busy pedestrian areas and main sights like the catherdral. There was also a Metro station only a few metres from the hotel. The room was very small, not much space to move around the bed, especially with luggage, but the room was very clean and all we really needed. The breakfast was quite good, with some hot selections as well as the usual cereal, fruit, cheese and cold meat. There was a huge amount of free fruit and mineral water available all day in the lobby. The hotel also offered free wifi. The staff were friendly.

Free Parking, Good View, Location is not too far, only 4 km to the central, breakfast is quite good.

Friendly Staff, Good Location, The room is nothing special, just a small and simple room for someone who does not intend to spend much time in it. There is not view to speak of, but a small patio area that overlooks the apartments behind the hotel. For the price paid, it was a good deal. 24/7 entry, and most staff spoke some English. The elevator was small and worked. My room was located behind the elevator shaft and all was quiet. The best part was a short walk to subway or simple 10 min. walk to downtown. one small criticism was no heat in the room.
