"Requested a Twin room when booking, upon arrival I realised the room only had a double bed in it - they provided a second room at no charge to make up for the error - I didn't even ask for it, so much appreciated. The gardens are small but beautiful with two fat geese walking around, very pleasant to sit and watch them waddle around. Very quiet, off the main road but very close by."

"we stayed in one of their cottages which isn't part of the hotel. Fantastic in every way - not cheap but you get what you pay for. We had the set menu dinner in the hotel which was simply delicious and a real treat for the senses. We also had breakfast in the hotel once but opted for al la carte rather than the set menu as R190pp for breakfast is just a bit much. the cottage is set up really well with all the small touches making it really great. More about Dullstroom

Dullstroom is a unique South African destination set 2,100m about sea level, making it one of the coldest villages in the country. O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg is the gateway to reaching the city. If not a destination in itself, Dullstroom makes for an ideal stop if heading to Kruger National Park as it is halfway between the park and Johannesburg.

This town is a charming hamlet in the heart of the Highlands Meander. Like much of South Africa, it offers breathtaking scenery and is known for its clear streams, lakes, and waterfalls. Animal lovers, especially bird watchers, will enjoy viewing the endangered Blue Crane, Crowned Crane, and Wattled Crane. Other than its beautiful wildlife and scenery, modern touches have put Dullstroom on the map. A bar called Wild About Whiskey is found in the town and offers the world’s largest whiskey menu. The largest selection of clocks in the Southern Hemisphere can also be found here in The Clock Shop. Whether it’s checking out the exquisite flora and fauna or tinkering around town at world-renowned shops, visitors are sure to be pleased in Dullstroom – even if it’s just for the atmosphere.

The town lies up against Dullstroom Nature Reserve and Dullstroom Caravan Park, and accommodation options can be found within the town itself or within the vicinity of the park. Cottages, bed and breakfast establishments, and lodges are but a few of the options to choose from when looking to enjoy the atmosphere of Dullstroom.
