Excellent hotel in a lovely setting right on the Nile - beautiful views - we could see the pyramids in the distance from our bed! Many of the restaurants, bars and the pool are right on the river's edge. Breakfast was the best we had in all our travels in Egypt. The suite was very spacious and comfortable with top quality amenities and two balconies overlooking the river. The club lounge was a great facility with drinks and snacks throughout the day and lovely views. The staff were always extremely courteous, friendly and helpful and even arranged a very early check on our first morning due to our very early arrival.

Very good hotel with great location. It will be fine for business travellers & for holidays also. In 2 min one can reach a very nice park & one can have a walk along the riverside. There's a roof which offers to admire fantastic views. Heated pool & jaccuzzi. Breakfast was pretty good, but not the best one. I would stay this hotel again & would ecommend it to my friends.

overall a solid hilton hotel. everything is up to standard and what you expect for a 4 star hilton hotel. breakfast good except the lack of real bacon(same thing all over egypt, pork a bit of a no no). as a swede i especially enjoyed the smoked salmon which was really good. staff really nice and good as you would expect, the only nice people i met in whole of egypt. the hotel is good in all areas, except maybe a quite noisy aircondition in the room. get room with nile view, really nice. alot of guards all over zamalek island, feels very safe.

I would recommend the GNT for a few reasons, primary among them would be location. The hotel is in the perfect place to see all of the town. It has breathtaking views, easy access, and stands out from every vantage point in the city. It is ON the Nile, not near the Nile. While there doesn't seem to be a good part of town, this area is the closest you will get. Definitely the most attractive part of town. Additionally, there are segments of the staff that are most helpful. The concierge desk is always staffed and welcoming. Mr. Mater is first rate. The security staff are delightful in what could be an unnerving situation. The staff at the small bar in the lobby met my every request. The price was average. Negative elements: Checkin was a nightmare. We had to return to the desk 3 or 4 times before we finally got into our room. The line was horrible, but we did get an upgrade. The room was basic. Few towels; no glasses. Never did find the mall. Odd hours for restaurants, etc. Tours are

among the few hotels in 6th of october, novotel is relatively inexpensive yet it location is superior in comparison. 15 min walk to mall of arabia & 10 min away from local shops if you want a true egyptian buying experience. as will most hotels there, internet cost a lot. about daily. you can bring you laptop to the lobby if you want free wifi though. the free breakfast is good. again, i am comparing with other hotels in egypt. there is a wide selection of bread and fruits. lesser on meat products. i would always get the chef to fry me an egg. the rooms are slidely small. this makes it manageble for business travellers like me. remember to lock your balcony door before leaving the room as the balcony are common to a few.

I am glad that i chose this hotel as i was hesitated to chose between the next door hotel.i arrived at 9 am in the hotel and the front desk gave me my room even i before 2pm.it could be because on monday, if on weekend i might not have a chance.the room was fine, i did not expect the room to be lavish even it stated 4 stars. It was expensive due to the location as Zamalek is for rich egyptian.i booked the city view as the nile view faced non interesting part of nile, because this hotel was located at the west bank. The fancy view during night was on the hotels located on east bank and facing the downtown Cairo.Zamalek is an island, where the embassies and colleges located.i got the top room and i did really need the quiet area, less hearing the car honk.the room service was good, even during my 9nights stay they did not change the bedsheet but they never failed to provide the toiletteries and fresh towel.The breakfast was mixed western and local breakfast.there was snack bar which served local dishes at reasonable price, pharmacy, money changer and metro supermarket just next to the hotel. It was convenient. My return flight was late at night but the hotel gave me room to be used to ease myself before i left for airport.even for couple of minutes but it worth. It provided the cab service at fixed price but the taxi driver still asked for tip. I had a pleasant stay in this hotel. I was concerned about the safety, and location near British Council, and this hotel is not really suitable for people who want to experience the other life of egypt night life.

We really liked this hotel , staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was smaller than expected but warm and comfortable, loved our little balcony with its great view of the pyramids There is not much around in terms of shops etc but that's what we liked about it. It is a short taxi ride into another part of Giza and all the drivers knew of this hotel so it was easy to get home. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and so grateful that we were supporting tourism in Egypt

i was in egypt for about three weeks, and this hotel was one of the two best i stayed in...got a good rest,an amazing steam bath and massage, and the room was more like a suite than a hotel room: large bed, two chairs, table, desk, fridge, giant closet, balcony and chairs, etc. the service was also excellent and cheerful, and so much better than in other hotels, esp. in cairo. there is a 12% service fee, so no tipping...which is also a wonder in cairo where it seems every one has a hand out.

Booked this hotel online because the price suited my budget. Read mixed comments on Trip Adviser but prefer to judge for myself. I arrived late at night after a long train journey from Luxor and staff were very welcoming. Only stayed one night but asked for and was given a high room (7th floor) away from the noise and a fabulous view over Cairo and the River Nile. Room was nice, clean and had everything I need. Comfortable bed, nice white fluffy towels!!!Breakfast was very good, lots of choice. Staff were happy to store my luggage even though I had checked out the next day. I was on a shopping trip to Cairo Malls but because it was Ramadan, they closed from 3pm until 8pm. My train to Luxor was at 10pm so I didn't have time to go back but had to return to the hotel for mu luggage. Thought I would need to wonder round Cairo alone for 7 hours but I was able to sit in hotel lounge with coffee and a book as staff were not happy to think I was wondering about alone. I will definately use this hotel again and recommend to friends. Thank you Swiss Inn Nile Hotel.

i never wanted to leave this beautiful hotel , it has such a beautiful view of the pyramids of giza and the nile river is in the same road , u can find a lot of restaurants , and the managers are such amazing persons and friendly they can help u get along everything , i would come over and over to egypt and book in this same hotel everytime , don't forget to watch the sunset from the rooms , and even book the 3 bed app it s such a huge place and great price

This hotel is considered to be a luxurious one in Egyptian standards. The hotel itself is clean and quite well-maintained although it looks slightly old. Location wise, far from the downtown city area but relatively close to the Giza Pyramids site. The hotel is very very near to Egypt Mall which is great if you want to do some shopping or watch a movie- it’s quite a luxurious mall and it has all the amenities to keep you busy for a full day. The hotel rooms are nice and the swimming pool area looks great for relaxing around in summer but definitely not winter. The one thing that majorly turned us off was the so-called international buffet breakfast. We are not sure if this is the Egyptian standard and local food quality but let’s just say we’ve had way better breakfast at other hotels. The food is cold and the spread does not even have much variety and doesn’t taste that great. Disappointing for a supposed 4-star hotel.

I made 2 mistakes - booking 8 days for the hotel before I planned my itinerary cause went to aswan and luxor in between. And also paying more to be upgraded to the Nile view. Honestly nothing much to see and the balcony door couldnt open so didnt see anything. Pros - room is big and hotel was going thru some upgrades so it look pretty new. Bathroom was also big and spacious. Breakfast was really good too and staff were very helpful. Cons - They didnt clear my room when I left for aswan/cairo and the food was left there for 5 days. a new club opened on the 3rd floor and it opens till 4am! You can't sleep. Dont send stuff for laundry there, ended up almost missing my flight cause they wont pick up. Also the doorman will ask if ur keen for a guide. Thinking it's from the hotel so it's trusted but it's not. The guide was a rip-off, and the doorman prob pocketed some earnings from that. Just uber everywhere.

Best way to see pyramids, two nights here and two nights in Cairo perfect. This place is right across the street from the east entrance, walk over when the gates open at 8AM for a less crowded experience. Guardian Guest House also arranges tours to Memphis/Saqquara/etc, expensive but good value, our guide Youseff was kind and knowledgeable. Note: if you plan on riding a camel, get one of the guys at the guest house to arrange it outside the gate... still negotiate your rate but you'll avoid the hassles by having a local start the process and you'll get a licensed local who won't hassle you when you decide you're done riding. We took the camel out to the "viewpoint" area first thing then had him drop us off at the small pyramid to walk back from there for about 150 EGP for two people.

The receiption staffs were very friendly and tried their best to get the room for what customer expected. As I was stranger in that city, concierage staffs provided usable information and guideline for me to access to the destination. Although the hotel outlook is old, but room was clean. Bathroom design needed to be improved as after bath the bathroom will get wet. Paking has to be charged. Internet needs to pay.

My husband and I traveled to Egypt on holiday in Sept 2009 and we tried a variety of 5 star hotels in Cairo including the Four Seasons First Residence, the Mena House Oberoi, and the Villa Belle Epoque bed and breakfast. We loved our stay at the Four Seasons First Residence. While the location is not within walking distance to the pyramids or museum, it's still close enough for a cheap cab ride. Taxis abound and the traffic is not nearly as bad as we thought. The service is impecable, and the rooms are quite spacious and finely appointed with lovely views of the Nile or the pyramids. Swimming pool is well maintained, and there are a number of high-end restaurants and shops in the adjacent mall. The concierge was extremely helpful in addressing all our needs. We found Cairo to be a bit hectic, but all this dissolved away the minute we stepped into the Four Seasons hotel. There are two locations, but the First Residence is more magnificent in our opinion. The tea lounge is a nice place to sit for a drink and a chat. If you can afford this expensive hotel, it's worth every penny. I highly recommend this hotel for business travelers and luxury vacationers!
