When you arrive or leave this hotel, it is best to do so from below, using the hillside cable railcars (funicular). This approach allows you to avoid a lot of steps along a narrow path to the street above, which is especially important if you are not in good health or have heavy baggage. To reiterate: on arrival, ask your taxi driver to drop you off at the base of the funicular if you have much baggage. Your taxi driver is unlikely to be able to easily locate where to drop you off if traveling on the street on the hillside above the hotel. Our stay went very well. Our room was clean, comfortable and well-designed. This would be a good hotel down in the city, but it is special because of its hillside location overlooking Guanajuato. As for the old centro of Guanajuato... I was a bit disappointed due perhaps to high expectations. It seems to be developing into a bit of a tourist trap with lots of pizza joints and T-shirt shops. Not as great a variety of restaurants as I expected. There are a lot of police in the area within a kilometer of the funicular, mostly there to help guide the tourists, but I was shocked regarding their lack of knowledge about where things are and how to get there, considering this is such a small area of the city. They generally showed a good attitude, but they often gave bad or conflicting directions.

Very well situated in the gorgeous historic center of Guanajuato. Loved the roof terrace with a lovely view of the city. I enjoyed the extensive free breakfast except for the coffee but there is a good coffee shop 2 doors down. We got a room on the ground floor that was rather dark and a bit damp so maybe request a higher room if available. Overall would definitely stay here again if I found myself in Guanajuato.

this hotel was a great place to be for a couple who wants to be in center of all the great sites of guanajuato. restaurants surround the hotel as well as must-see sites. the rooms are humongous and have a great old time ambiance. my only complaint is that the church directly across the street rings it's bell every hour throughout the entire day...i mean, the bells go off at 4:30 am in the morning. very annoying. other than that, a great hotel. some staff members were a bit unhelpful, but that happens when you can't speak very much spanish.

Great location near Plaza del Baratillo in the center of Guanajuato. The owners are friendly and helpful. Must stay!

Casa de Dante is seriously amazing! Its lovely atmosphere and incredibly hospital staff made my time in Guanajuato one of the best trips I’ve ever had.

Staff okay, but seems not knowing the town well, cannot give much advice. The room is dirty, hairs and dirt every where on the floors. The only good thing is the shower is hot and stable WiFi.

Casa Tepozanes is truly a home away from home. The house with tasteful interior decorations has 5 rooms for guests. It is in a quiet lane that one may reach quite easily. The location is very convenient because all major attractions in the center of Guanajuato are within a short walking distance (5 to 10 minutes depending on your pace) - and it is possible to book tours here as well to visit nearby cities and towns. My room was very comfortable and attention to detail was evident in many aspects. I enjoyed a delicious breakfast featuring fresh fruit (including real orange juice) with Granola and Mexican sweet breads. Roberto is the owner, and he looks after all guests with extreme care. Pricing is competitive, so I will go directly to Casa Tepozanes the next time that I am fortunate to visit Guanajuato.

Pros- location, price, superior apartment was as advertised. Once I was able to get in contact with the hosts they were very responsive throughout our stay. The fan in the apartment was appreciated. Cons- check in was a bit of a mess. I had to contact Agoda customer service in order to get in contact with the host since the phone number I had for the host was out of service. Things to be aware of- parking nearby will run 15-16 MXN pesos per hour and driving through the Guanajuato tunnels is confusing. We ended up leaving our rental car out of town and using Ubers and cabs instead. Most things are walkable from the apartment.

Good location. clean and quiet. The price is reasonable. Nearly no wifi in the bedroom and the staff cannot speak English

The hotel is classical style and impressive, especially the bathtub which is very big and deep which enables even four persons could enter at once, I believe. The room charge is marvelously low with a reasonable brekfast. A supermarket is available in one minute walk to buy beers and so on. A receptionist locates on the lobby at a desk and responds quickly to your requests without keeping you wait for.

It was a delight. We checked in and our room didn't have a chair at the desk. I asked and had one in 2 minutes. The internet kept on disconnecting and we told them and they moved us to a superior room at the sa,e price. We liked it so much that we stayed there for 3 nights.

The building was fantastic, the location quite central, there were three outdoor areas, a well-equipped kitchen, and the two other sets of guests were pleasant young couples. The only negative is that we were told at check-in that the child in our group did not meet their age minimum, and should be hidden from other hotel guests. What a strange rule, no children under 14, and it made us feel like sneakthiefs, circling around to enter our rooms secretly, and telling her to shut off her pre-teen movies on her iPad, in fear that someone might discover a very well-behaved sub-14-year-old.

It was ok - receptionist did not speak English, only Spanish - had to look for a certain manager every time I needed to order anything from a meal to a taxi to any request - not very nice for a hotel! Our stay was very average. Room very small and stuffy.

The hotel has an unbeatable location, just next to Teatro Juárez. We had a nice stayed in the hotel

Loved the location in the centre! The room was nice and clean! We had some issues with other guests who were loud at night and there was no one to help us...also the staff does not speak english at all, so you cannot really relay on them. Otherwise very nice place to stay. Would choose it again!

I cannot understand that is a HOTEL. In our room, there was kid bike over the curtain, TVs which they were not using anymore. It was loke warehouse. With that cost, I will choose nice hostel instead.

The room is so big and clean, staff are so nice and helpful, Francisko (the owner) even drove us to the bus station! It’s like 15~20min walking from the hotel to the central, and you can see nice view from balcony.

Casa de Pita is wonderful! Such a cute, colorful house, with a great terraza to overlook the city! The breakfast is delicious, and the staff are so helpful. The room was clean, bathroom clean, comfy bed, and very accommodating staff. I will return to Guanajuato and no doubt stay here again!
