The living expenditure in Haifa has a reputation for being expensive. Given that, the hotel is really good value for money. The hotel is located on the mount carmel and the room has an excellent view over the city and the beach. I can see the sunrise right from my hotel room! The room is not spacious just like many other hotels in Israel but the decoration is human-friendly. Love the bay windown where there're two seat cushions on which you can sit comfortably to enjoy the view. The staff at check-in was very warm and friendly. Complimentary cookies are provided in the room! Within walking distance to local restaurants. I will stay again.

This spa hotel is definitely not worth the (high amount of) money you need to pay. The facilities are a little outdated which can be seen f.e. on the curtains in the room or the elevators. The indoor pool has heated water, which is nice, but the hall itself is rather cold and the door to the outside was constantly open a bit (it was December). Most disappointing experience was the food. We certainly had much better and bigger breakfasts in other Israeli hotels. The evening menu consists of a relatively small number of choices and I was told that it changes only every six month! That's all the worse because especially the main courses could not convince us, neither the meat nor the fish dishes. Service was friendly and really tried but sometimes seemed to be not too professional. Conclusion: Compared to a top European 5* spa resort I feel sorry for all who come here believing they get something special. They pay way too much for too little.

Old style hotel but quite good location, at least wet / supermarkets nearby this hotel. Most of the settlement in Haifa is located on the hills, so need extra bus from the train station to the hotel.

I actually loved it. some small issues with lack of kettle, slippers, and NOT perfect cleaning, but overall a lovely boutique hotel in great location. good for a Haifa visit. The young man at the desk (with beard, cant remember the name) is a decent and understanding human being that helped us to make sure stay was excellent.

I spent altogether 3 nights in the German Colony Guesthouse in Haifa. PROS: -The location of the hostel is really good, since it's right around the corner from the Haifa Center HaShmona railway station, and the Metronit buses run from the street next to the hostel to the other side of Haifa (to the nicer beaches for example). -The hostel keeper, Bilal, is a wonderful, helpful, and welcoming man, and he speaks excellent English. -The hostel is very clean, which is nice, and the rooms have good air conditioning in them. -The hostel offers free coffee and tea, and there is a fridge in which you can store food. CONS: -The sleeping experience, in my opinion, was very uncomfortable. The mattresses are hard and have a plastic wrap on them, as if they have been purchased that day. The plastic makes a rustling noise everytime anyone moves in their bed, and if you get warm during the night, the plastic adds to the heat. -The hostel does not offer duvets (or blankets) but instead you have an old, thin bed cover as a blanket. Our room had two good (somewhat soft) pillows, other 6 were incredibly hard. -Even though I purchased a bed from a mixed dorm of 4 beds, I was put in a room of 8 beds (mixed dorm), so you are not guaranteed to receive accommodation in a room you have chosen online. It can be uncomfortable to be in such a large mixed room; I had to change in the toilet every day. -The door of the main entrance of the hostel IS NEVER CLOSED. I do not mean locked, I mean it is wide open DAY AND NIGHT. There is no one at the reception after about midnight, and there is no security. Overall: it's a relatively cheap alternative if you need a place to stay for a couple of nights and you intend to travel across the city, or in near-by towns. I would personally not go back for more that one night at a time because of the beds - the plastic made it impossible to sleep, which is kind of the core concept of a hostel.

The hotel located next to the beach, but the access is awfully difficult. You must climb dozens of stairs to get back to the hotel entrance. If you with stroller, than you gotta do a five minutes detour. the room furniture was so old, probably they had had it from the 90's. Even though I booked a junior suite it hasn't got a porch. the air conditioning is killing you, in the breakfast room was so cold we were eating with our coats on. the service in Israel is the regular nobody-at-your-service, so I wasn't surprised. The hotel swimming pool is just a sheer depression... and all this fun is very expensive!!! For example in Budapest you can have in real five star hotels like Kempinsky or Ramada a full week with breakfast and dinner half price. just don't get anything close to this hotel

close to the beach, this fully equipped apartment was totally suited to our needs. Parking close by was 'free' but obviously busy this close to the beach! We made use of the kitchen, the TV, the internet and most important the washing machine! However, several beach bar/cafes close by and one or two filling stations ('gas' stations for our US readers!) also had small convenience stores. the apartment was huge for the two of us and would easily accommodate a small family - two bedrooms in our case. plenty of bedding and towels supplied. thoroughly recommend this company. you might clarify the method of picking up and dropping off the keys, as the building reception staff don't really want to know .however we had the telephone number of the local agent.

The hotel is good, clean, excellent location. But: The staff is not honest and not welcoming. We ordered a partially sea view room with big bed and we got no sea view at all and big bed but with two mattresses (which depart all the time). The staff's answer was: "partially sea view" means that only part of the rooms have sea view. This answer is between a joke and deceive. And the same answer for the bed: "it is a big bed!" if we weren't too tired we were moving from there. Honesty is the base. The other disadvantage is that there are no stairs and you must carry your heavy suitcases more than 50 stairs in a narrow stairs. Of course the staff didn't offer help. We also forgot a earphones in the room and they are gone.

Very nice little hotel in a rather sketchy area of Haifa. The owner was very nice and helpful. I liked the fact that when we arrived, there was complimentary food and drink in the room--- a bowl of dates, chocolate cake and a bottle of wine. Parking was on the street, but not a problem right in front of the hotel. The breakfast was small but adequate. We spent a relaxing 2 days in the hotel and did a day trip to Rosh HaNikra and Akko, and had dinner at the nearby German Colony. The hotel is a half-mile walk from the Cable cars, which we took to the Carmelite Monastery. This site offers a great view of Haifa Bay.

Comfortable beds in a clean room. Bathroom VERY narrow/crowded, so I could not stay there again. Also, although I booked the hotel from Israel, in Hebrew, I was not notified during booking that what I was paying was only the basic rate, and that I should pay VAT on check-in.

very nice hotel in the center of haifa. convinient location to get to all of the tourist attractions in the city. nice stuff, serving with smiles. the room was pretty clean, so as the bathrooms. every room in the hotel has safe box. in general, i was pretty setisfied of my stay, concidering the low price i paid for it.

Do go for the breakfast buffet: it will hold you well past lunch. The staff is lovely, efficient and professional, and the hotel is clean. The TVS in the room are small and limited. The location is very good and not far from public transportation.

I only recommend one night here as there is not much to do in Haifa. Great hostel and positive environment. Only issue I experienced was the lack of WiFi in the dorm room.

I stayed for one night in the Golden Crown Haifa hotel. I had a great stay - the Executive room is nicely renovated, the bathroom is big with space for all your knickknacks. There was a shower as well as a tub which I like very much. Since we checked out on a Saturday, they let us keep the room until 16:00 in the afternoon. Good restaurants and pubs are walking distance. Would definitely come back!

Value for money. In excellent location. We arrived with balance expectations after all its not a 5 star hotel we booked in. What greeted us was a stunning view of the Baha’i garden when we parked by the street right at the doorsteps of Haddad. The owners stay behind the guesthouse. Andrew was so hospitable. Parking is generally available though there are so many highly rated restaurants on the same street. Near everything. We had a good night stroll and ate along the ‘strip’ which is alive till past midnight. I would stay there again. Travelled with a senior (Mom) and though we didn’t request it, for a first floor room. Owner told me to make sure we requested next time.

Love the Dan. Stayed there many times. I think it's the best Haifa but priced higher then much more prestigious hotels around the world.

We enjoyed an excellent stay at the Dan Panorama. The hotel management accommodated an extra bed in one of our rooms upon arrival. The rooms were clean and cmfortable - the mattresses really comfortable. Very nice touch to welcome us with a bottle of wine and some fruit. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts each morning with a selection of fresh salads, fruits and pastries. The location suited us well with easly access to the main routes, the Bahai and a Japanese museum and a tresure of a jeweller's shop down the road. sSaff professional and friendly. All in all a first rate experience. Thank you

The Dan Gardens has a fantastic view over the Haifa bay and is located in the Carmel area. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance and the Baha'i Gardens are a few minutes walk away. The hotel itself is a bit dated but clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. You would probably expect a bit more from a Dan hotel but this was probably one of the first in the chain as the building looks like it is from the 50ies. If you can accept 3-star standard then this hotel is good value for money.

we enjoyed the location and the interior of the hotel but expected to have the place in a better maintenance level. we had a noisy refrigerator , the showerhead holder was with loose screws looking as if it is on the verge of dislodging. A twin bed that separated apart at night. the manager was kind enough to let us checkout at 14.00 but there seems to be no information exchange between the staff. even after we notified the staff upon arrival of this we got a first call to our room at 12.00 and even after telling again that it was agreed that we could stay longer , somebody came to ask us to leave at 13.00.Still, basically the staff were polite and patient..

I stayed for 2 nights. All staff were nice and helpful. We stayed in room no 7. The room was clean, the furnishings are dated and its very basic accommodation but offers value. This place could be much better and its in need of a renovation like many hotels. Israel has become very expensive since my last visit in 2010 so be prepared!. Back to the room the double bed might be small for 2 people (i made a mistake to book a double) The TV had limited channels in english the wifi was great on all levels. The heating system was just sufficiant but noisy. Theres a nice common sitting area and balcony with great views. The area is ok but everything closes early so there's not much to do in the area unless you walk 15 minutes. By day the area is more alive and theres plenty of shops around. The baha gardens around a 15 min walk away.

Haifa was kind of disappointing, apart from the Shrine there is not much to do/see there, we arrived on a FRI evening (ok, our fault), most of the bars etc were closed, also on SAT. And it was raining heavily... we fled to Akko. the hotel is ok, but i think too expenisve, the room was too small. and the staff at the receotion desk could be a bot more enthusistic. the breakfast was delicious though, huge portions, very good quality - so i thnik the restaurant is good there :-)

We spent one night here and we could not complain about the hotel, it is starred correctly basic features etc but finding it in the streets of Haifa was a nightmare, even with phone gps. We should point out this is not the hotel's fault, just Haifa is difficult to navigate on first arrival. If using taxi's or buses this problem would go away and you would find yourself in a quiet suburb and a 10 minute drive from the city centre. A great central point for exploring Northern Israel: We drove up to the border, around the Golan, the Sea of Galilee and Tiberias from Haifa.

This was an easy to find, well priced hotel in Haifa, Israel. The family and staff that run it are friendly and helpful, in a place where clear, understandable, helpful information is hard to come by. Great choice for the price!

It's smack in the middle of a lowbrow consumer area and right next to a haredi area. The road was under construction and the only parking was in a parking garage located in the bottom of the hotel but run by some other company (20 NIS a pop to park for any length of time). It's nowhere near the coast, but it's a 5 minute walk to the science museum and a fifteen minute walk to the German colony and the bottom of the Baha'i Gardens. The hotel towers over the neighborhood and the view from the top is expansive. It's pretty at night with the lights of the city around, but in the day you get to see Haifa, which is a port for container ships and not that pretty. The room was clean and small, with basic amenities: a TV with 21 channels, a safe, free WiFi, one tea bag, instant coffee bag, and sugar packet per person. Each floor has a small bookshelf in the corridor outside the elevators. Breakfast came with the reservation and it was neither lavish nor pitiful, but ok. Dinner and lunch on shabbat were very good. Unfortunately, the hotel was ill-prepared for a large group. There were not enough tables for dinner, and it was incredibly loud the whole time. The hotel lobby and dining area rapidly turned into a disaster area by the middle of Friday evening and stayed that way the rest of shabbat. Room service and desk service were helpful. The management service was not. The manager was suspicious of us when we came for meals on shabbat and he wanted to charge us twice for the meals. This was eventually straightened out. After dinner, the dining room still had a shabbat water urn running, and my room didn't. I was on floor 15 and didn't really want to go get a teabag from my room, so I asked them for tea and they wanted to charge me for the teabag. It took ten minutes of arguing with them but they eventually relented and gave me hot water and a teabag, but when I asked for a packet of sugar they said they would have to charge me for the sugar, at which point I ga

very nice. Although the location is in a slum area and challenging to find, the staff and rooms are great. Plus the neighbors are sweet Ukrainian/Russian families, accommodating for laundry, etc.

Combination of location, cleanliness, staff, facilities and value for money makes this accomodation unforgettable. I will recomend this place to all my friends and relatives. George and all his family made my vacation. Next year vacation at Tamer guest house ONLY ! !

I was satisfied with my stay at the Maris Haifa Hotel. Staff were friendly. Being near the train line was a surprise but tolerable. Having the reception desk on the second floor was also a surprise upon arrival. One has to notice the arrow near the lift without any words in any language. The legs of the chairs in the room need rubber cups to avoid being noisy on the floor. There is no comfortable chair to sit in the room to watch television. The hotel does not supply breakfast food so one needs to bring food in or go to the nearby coffee places.
