Great accommodation to Hanmer Springs. Hot towel rail and a good shower much appreciated after a long drive. Slept very well after a soak in the hot springs. Beware if driving a rental, there is a policeman hiding at the junction departing the Hanmer village to highway whereby there is a stop signage. Stop and give way. For the Singaporean, no. 31 Restaurant food is not good. Salt & Pepper cafe serves est. $35 breakfast, else drive further towards Queenstown direction for better & cheaper food eg $22 same breakfast.

We had a great break and will probably stay again next time we're in Hanmer Springs. Good room, nice extras, great location. I recommend having an upstairs room with abalcony, though if a flight of stairs are an issue, you'll be happy downstairs too.

Another stay in the top ten cabin shared bathroom facilities, cabin has kitchen with all you might need. Sky TV a hit for the ABs games and free wifi. Downside booked & paid via Agoda but reception staff tried to charge us again so take evidence of your paid for booking with you or use the phone app. Close to the pools, cafes an well everything in Hanmer Springs. We shall be back.

The Alpine Lodge Motel provided us with a well maintained self catering unit that was comfortable, clean and convenient for our stay in Hanmer Springs. The friendly Alpine Lodge Motel staff also may our stay pleasant and enjoyable. There was a car parking space provided that was part of the motel unit designation which was a pleasant surprise. The view of a gardened area containing roses and other cottage plants from the sliding doors was pleasing and added to the homely feel of the motel.

This motel is located in the middle of Hanmer Springs so we could walk everywhere. The Spa is at the end of the street with the village around the corner with restaurants and pubs. There's also great walks to do from the motel. Would definitely stay at this motel again.

Propably the best place to stay in Hanmer Springs with low budjet. I could have stayed there easily longer than 2 nights! Beds were really comfy.

A nice little motel. Friendly and helpful managers. Spacious rooms, good off street parking and spotlessly clean, Alpine Garden Motel offers well priced accomodation in a quiet area of Hanmer Springs only a short stroll up the street to the shops. The bed was comfomy affording good quality sleep in a nice quiet area of town.

Was welcomed by a very friendly manager who was very accommodating, offering additional mattresses as we were travelling with a baby. Room itself was spacious and pretty clean (save for a couple of stains on curtains). Ensuite was spotless, though toilet was dripping throughout the night. Overall- if you’re spending time in Hanmer Springs and are looking for a bit of community and good value- I don’t think you can beat this place- we’ll certainly be back.

About 5 mins drive from town, the lodge is in a quieter corner of Hanmer Springs so no worries for light sleepers. Check in and out was very easy and the room was lovely. Clean and spacious with enough space to cook and a great bathroom!

Really enjoyed our stay here. Room had fantastic views and owners were lovely people. If we went to Hanmer again would definitely stay again. It’s a great place for a couple, highly recommended.

Great place in Hanmer springs. Staff was very friendly, room was spacious and clean. Location is perfect, just a couple of minutes walk to the hot pools and main eateries. Highly recommended.

This place is slightly older but its been kept in excellent condition. Everything you need is supplied. Its very clean and the bed and pillows are very comfy. Its within walking distance to the pools and the awesome walking tracks Hanmer has to offer. The location is brilliant, easy check in and check out. Thanks guys, we'll be back.

Make this your first choice for Hanmer Springs. Nick and the crew will ensure you have a great stay. (This sounds like an infomercial but we are just common old garden travellers). The spa bath is the BEST in room spa we have ever used. It is not huge but it's deep! (Of course, you're most probably visiting Hanmer to go to the mineral springs, but hey, you can't have too many spa options in cold, wet NZ!) The only thing missing from the room is a cooktop, but hey, that's what restaurants are for. Highly recommended.

My friend and I stayed one night here. It was a good clean room with friendly service. The room was modern and had a nice kitchenette. I'd happily stay here again.

Such a nice hostel, I definitely recommend it to anyone headed to Hanmer Springs. It's in the middle of town, lots of good hikes around, spa pools and good cafes close by. The owners are really nice and welcoming, it feels like visiting someones home. It's a fairly small place with a tiny kitchen and two showers/toilets for the dorms, so might have to wait in line sometimes.

Motel was located 5 mins away from the hanmer springs thermal pool. Just beside the hike. Very easily accessible and got the biggest motel. Came with a fully stocked kitchen for family of 6 adults to cook dinner etc. Came with 1 shower and separate toilet cubicle. Rooms were all very spacious and very comfortable. Receptionist was friendly and helpful. Heater in the hallway and living room saved our lives. Electric blanket were comfortable as well. We love it very much and will stay here if coming back!

Located 5 minutes from town and away from noise and crowds. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Our room was large, very clean with amazing views of mountains. Would highly recommend this b & b and would not hesitate in staying here again.

village lake apartments have that wow factor from the moment you are shown in the front door by brian. the 2 bedrooms apartments are incredibly spacious and have a modern design that is immediately both pleasing and cosy, if that makes sense. there is a fantastic feature fire place which warms the entire large open plan living / dining / kitchen area. the views to the snow capped mountains are breathtaking, yet the complex is 1 block back from the main street and is peaceful and quiet, ensuring maximum relaxation. there is a gate (open fence) at the back corner of the property allowing access to the main street via the heritage hotel car park, making the walk to all the cafes, pubs, bakery etc a short 500 metre stroll or so. this includes the front entrance to the famour hot springs complex. brian is the consumate host, and provided us with accurate and concise tips and suggestions that answered all of our questions. highly recommended

It was a lovely room and would have been very comfortable. Unfortunately we were in hammer springs during a 30 degree day and the room had no air conditioning. Sleeping at night even with the fan provided was difficult. We discovered early the next morning that the shower head was in need of repair. When turned on it would not stay up so had to hold it while showering. Both of these are not major issues and had we noticed the shower while the hosts were available then I am sure it would have been fixed.

Prior to our overnight stay in the Mt Dunblane Suite at the Marchmont Gardens B&B in Hanmer Springs we had spent the previous two nights in a newly refurbished Harbour View Executive Suite at the 5 star Intercontinental Hotel in Wellington and we have to say we found the accomodation on offer at the Marchmont Gardens to be comparable and the breakfasts by far exceeded what the Intercontinental had to offer and all this at a fraction of the cost. After my stay at the Marchmont Gardens I will be certainly looking at using more B&B options in the future and when in Hanmer Springs the Marchmont Gardens would be my B&B of choice.

Staff were friendly and informative, the location is great -not on the busy strip. Carparking provided. The TV has a lot of channels and there is a wide range of DVDs to select from for those slower nights! Perhaps the only negative is in Australia the sliding doors generally have a 'Fly Screen' to keep out the flies/mosquitoes etc while allowing natural air into the room, the unit we stayed in only had a glass door (so bugs can come in), no big deal as the room has air conditioning. I would stay again, and I think this is the most important bit. We initially went to Cheltenham House and after seeing this place decided to stay elsewhere, Alpine Springs Motel was a great choice. There is a little walk to town about 10minutes but its a scenic walk and entirely acceptable, The other half got quite scared to walk back at night so we went the long way.

The prices for their rooms are fantastic. Highly recommended for a family or a group cause it's way cheeper that spending in a hotel. Place is quiet and relaxing that is 2 minutes away from the town/shops. If you are a backpacker, and your wanting to stay a night or two for a quiet hotel like experience without spending too much this is for you.

The lady who greeted us was great, she was really helpful with suggestions and advice about the area. The room was nice and clean and the location is walking distance to the township. This place is also dog-friendly as we had our 2 goldens with us as well.
