Hunter Valley hotels & places to stay

We really enjoyed our one night stay here, comfortable bed, big rooms with the old pressed tin ceilings, and amazing value for money compared to the rest of the Hunter Valley accommodation.

The hotel itself was built on heritage grounds, feels as though I'm living on history itself. Also, the food at the pub downstairs are one of the best in the area - they open till late which was another plus point. Staff were extremely helpful in directions and recommendations and the hotel is located right smack in town and a short drive from Hunter Valley. *Request for ear plus if you are a light sleeper as the hotel faces the road.

Second time we've stayed at Peden's Pub. Everything we needed for a wonderful stay in The Hunter Valley. The pub has excellent food, though they do charge appropriately for the quality. The room had air conditioning (heater and cooler), the beds were comfortable, the shared washrooms clean and not crowded. There's a large lounge room, a sink, fridge, kettle, mugs, cups, and tea and coffee. There is one outlet in the room, a chair and table, a mirror, and a bedside table. Along with the beds and the wall mounted air conditioner, that's all that's in the room. Simple but serviceable. As for noise, there was a band playing mostly 90s covers from about 8pm - 10pm Saturday night. That's all we noticed, and my partner has trouble sleeping if there's too much noise (he had no trouble).

Came for one night and stayed for two! Accommodation has been recently redecorated. Lovely clean room. Clean sheets and LARGE towels. TV in room. Shared bathroom facilities. Men's and women's bathroom all renovated: plenty of loos and showers. Lovely private dining area for guests. Plenty of free breakfast. Other guests all very quite. Small outdoor area. Staff very helpful. Can really recommend. BUT did not stay on a Friday or Saturday, when there may be live music in the downstairs pub.

The staffs are very friendly and you can basically request and ask for anything you want. Be it the building and architecture are not a modernized, the room are considered clean and we had a good two night stay. The location is perfect if you were to go to hunter valley wineries. It is in the town with walking distance to restaurants and supermarkets. While 10 mins drive will bring you to all wineries and perfect for night stargazing. If we are going back to hunter valley, i will suggest this place =) *a downside is that the toaster in the room is very dirty that we don't dare to use*

This hotel has great rooms at a good price and a terrific family restaurant with exceptional food also with a price range including kids meals. We were 3 people looking at a cost effective short break and this hotel filled the bill. Good location to Hunter Valley, Morpeth Village and Maitland historical areas.

the proprietor, damien, of this establishment is one of the kindest gentlemen you can find at a roadside motel. he welcomed our family of four and made us feel right at home. the hunter valley motel provides excellent value for money-our family of five obtained two rooms for a total of aud. the hotel is located off the main road, right in the heart of the hunter valley, so it is perfect for hitting wineries and then grabbing dinner in the evening in the town.

Great little hotel with clean big confortable rooms. Best location with all amenities within short walking distance. Also secure pte parking. Any questions about how to go about in hunter valley just talk to the owner and you will be provided with the best options.

The room was basic but had everything we needed for 1 night. Great hot water and shower pressure, we needed twin beds which we got. Everything was spotless and we even got fresh milk, not uht. We came up for a last minute concert in the hunter and took a Rover coach in from down the road. The main road was a bit noisy but we had asked for a quiet room and got one further back in the complex. The only thing that spoiled it for us was no fault of the motel but the rotten 20 something's who were partying and fighting all night in the room next to us meant we didn't sleep til nearly 4am. You can ask for a quiet room away from the main road but you can't pick your neighbours. Luckily for us the owners pointed us in the direction of the sweet cafe down the road a a good breakfast restored us. The owners were freindly and knowledgable and even walked a shirt over to the cafe when they realised we had left it after checking out.

We would stay here again, the team at the facility were all excellent, really very difficult to fault, it was clean, well located. A minor observation that I noticed in Room 13, the bathroom window lock was unusable, because the new tiles are laid too close to the security groove. A potential safety issue. The restaurant food was reasonably priced, and well served. We will stay there again, because of the friendliness and cleanliness.

Was looking for somewhere to stay on a budget and this place did the job. I stayed in a Budget Cabin - the bed was comfortable, bathroom clean and kitchen adequate for one person. The park was nice and quiet on Saturday night and heater worked very well with sub zero temperatures around the Hunter. A good budget place to stay with a short drive to the wineries and Pokolbin. Staff were very friendly and the Thai restaurant was good too.

This hotel is located in Hunter Valley. The room is surrounded by the trees, so you can enjoy fresh air and nice view when you stay in the hotel. The front staff is friendly, she help us to do early check in as when we reach the hotel is at 10 am and the weather is very hot, so lucky we managed to check around 12 pm. We travel to Hunter Valley because we have book a Hot air balloon fly but so unfortunate the fly is cancelled due to the bad weather. Morning time can be very hot and noon time it raining with storm. The room is comfortable so we stay in the room for two days as not other place can go around. The food in the restaurant is delicious, but very costly, and we have not choice,so we have settle all our meal there for three days two nights. The vineyard is very far back from the hotel room so we only notice it when we are on our way back in the taxi.

The reason for booking this hotel was because of the very pretty pictures that we had viewed online as well as the promise of our very kangaroo at our doorstep. So imagine our delight when we were not only blown away by the beauty that our room was in the midst of but a kangaroo waiting for us outside our room. The room was amazing with beautiful decor and we felt like royalty. This hotel is a must stop for those who want to relax and take in the wonder of Hunter Valley.

We stayed here as the bus for a concert in the Hunter Valley stops right out the front. Check in was easy. The room looks like they have tried to give it a make over with furnishings but the room itself is very tired, walls with cracks, marks, rust on fittings, noisy air con and the bathroom was in a real need of some maintenance. It was ok for an overnight stay when hardly there but would be disappointed if had booked for a nice weekend away.

in the 2 days we spent, there were 2 different receptionists - both of them were superbly friendly and professional. They made me feel like we were the only guests - i will return again simply because of them! Although the accomodation and everything the village had to offer pleasantly met my expectations and i will certainly return, all facilities are pretty standard and I would rate hotel a 3 star simply because it does not fit "almost luxurious". I have stayed in most hunter valley hotels and although there are more luxurious accomodations available for similar prices, the friendlyness and warmth of village staff is what will bring me back!

We were visiting Hunter Valley and as most would know, staying at the Hunter can be quite expensive. We found this motel to be value for money and only a 20min drive to Upper Hunter and 30-40min drive to Polkobin. It was clean, quiet and have an updated bathroom. I would stay here again if I am visiting the Hunter.

Very strategic location, right infront of main road, nearby shopping complex for conveniences and food.

Only 20 min drive from the main wineries of the area. We really liked our stay: the free parking, the staff, the room, free mini bar and the pool. There is also a restaurant located within 2 minute walk which offers good food. Great of you plan on visiting the Hunter valley area.

It wasn't our first choice but still please with the overall experience. Located along New England Highway makes it easy for you to travel up to either Upper or Lower Hunter Valley.

This was most positive surprice on our trip to Australia, this hidden gem was welcoming us with personal touch i.e. Hunter Valley relax feeling with very beatifull decoration a functional arangement. Fell in love with this kind of boutique style of hotels and will definitely recomment this to our friends too. Additional plus was all the info receptionist was able to tell to us from the Hunter Valley locations and places to see and eat.

I booked this accommodation. It really knowing where it was located, when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at how central it was and how close it was to one of purr favourite vineyards. I would recommend marbles to anyone wanting to be close to the action yet far away from the hotel crowds. Yvette looked after us and she was absolutely lovely. You will not be disappointed.

Nice set up close to key attractions in Hunter Valley. The 2 bedroom unit that I stayed in was clean and everything we needed was there. The person that I liaised with that arranged for my check in and out - Matt was also very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this accommodation to anyone that is interested to go to Hunter Valley for a quick getaway.

Given that I was paying a relatively low price compared to other Hunter Valley resorts, I was pleasantly surprised at the accommodation. I would not call it 4 star Hotel no, but as a very well endowed "motor inn" then its up there with the best. I read a lot of negative reports about the place from those expecting a whole lot better ... but again putting everything into price context I would say you get an extremely good deal for the money. 1. Fabulous location... worth the tiny premium for the Vineyard View with sliding doors out onto a real vineyard. Pleasant walks down to a lake and views across rolling vineyards. 2. Peace and tranquility. 3. Nice clean "log cabin" style unit. 4. Splendid Breakfast. WOW! Talk about a "full monty". Wonderful cooked breakfast as well as fruits, juices, cereals etc. 4. Great staff. Friendly and solved any questions or issues I had immediately. 5. VALUE FOR MONEY. If you read some of the reviews, I think expectation far out-weighs the price paid. Frankly I did not understand them given we are talking fantastic features and great food for less than nearby (New England Highway) roadside motel money. Would I stay again... well I stayed 2 days and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. So who am I to judge? Well for what its worth, I have been travelling the world for over 30 years and have stayed at the best 6 star and the worst 1 star. If I say I am something of a "been there done that" and somewhat "jaded" traveler then I hope that counts for something. But really, this place stands out. I TRULY enjoyed staying at the Hunter Valley Resort because in my old age I have come to value getting my money's worth. No it is NOT a 4 star hotel. But it is an extremely pleasant motel-style facility set well off the road and with excellent "4 star" features. I hold "value for the money" as the highest of all my travel requirements and for that alone I HIGHLY recommend staying here.

There must be some newly renovated rooms (as advertised on their website) and quite a few rooms still in serious need of renovation/restoration. If you pull the short straw and end up in one of the really old rooms you may be quite disappointed with the facilities. The good news is that the hotel is currently being renovated so presumably there will eventually be consistency across all rooms. Expect contractors in and around the hotel for the foreseeable future during this upgrade process. Still, a great venue for conferences and the hotel itself oozes character.

Great little getaway, we often visit the hunter and Beltana is our first choice. Fantastic host and we will return :)

Really well located cabin / campus type lodging in the heart of Hunter Valley, great for doing a self-guided winery tour! Rooms are large and clean, and we had loads of kangaroos hopping around outside our cabin! Staff were great.
