This past weekend was my very first time ever visiting the city of Jacksonville and I can't say that I am overly impressed with what I had to see.
But perhaps that is because I was limited on my time visiting. What I didn't realize is how spread out Jacksonville is. I don't like that at all and the apartment guide books are very deceiving by saying a hotel is located on a certain part of town but once I got there to tour the place, I didn't even feel comfortable getting out of my car. I think the best bet would be to get a native of the city to show me/you around. I did enjoy visiting Friendship Fountain. A water fountain that lights up in the night time. It was very quiet and sprinkled with couples here and there. Then took a nice slow paced stroll across the big blue bridge that lights up at night. While crossing I even got to see a group of dolphins down below for a brief moment. After crossing all the way over the bridge, came up on The Jacksonville Landing. A fun place to hang out even during the week with music, good drinks, and friendly folks. I wouldn't be doing anyone any justice without recommending The Potter's House Soul Food Bistro off of Lenox Ave...A Definite must, no matter who you are...You will fall in love with this place
