"A beautiful heritage mansion in a village setting with modern conveniences. Personal touch by interaction with owners. Excellent staff but the main credit is for the Manager Mr.Gopakumar who holds all of them together and offers the guests a wonderful time. Very helpful with anything we needed. Wonderful to walk around and admire the various lanes and homes. Just a word of caution. If you are staying here, don't waste money by going to view other heritage homes. It costs INR50/- per head and sometimes INR100/- if one is a foreigner. In this regard, Athangudi Palace is just not worth it. All these heritage homes have similar layouts and Chettinad Mansion is one of the best maintained ones. The only downside I can think of is that the food especially breakfast is served a bit cold if one is eating late. Things like idli, vada, paniyaram etc is best eaten hot. Maybe microwaving them would help. I made this suggestion to the Manager and he has taken it on board. "

"The stay was excellent with the manager & his team offering extended support in traveling, food arrangement & sight seeing. The location is very good and close to many historic places. The main aspect is about the low budget for a quality place. Presently, the swimming pool is located at a different place instead of within the hotel premises. Nevertheless, it is a great place to take a break if you are an enthusiastic art lover."
