Kenton-on-Sea,Kenton-on-Sea - View on map
"Wonderful experience, our second trip. boat whizzes you from reception in Kenton-on-Sea (1 hour drive from Port Elizabeth ), to your camp upriver. Luxury boarded tented room- secure, spacious, lovely comfy bed, rugs, full bathroom with bath and shower, atmospheric candles/ lighting, sitting out bench and hammock in jungle setting. The clubhouse is thatched with comfy sofas, bar with included beer and wine, bbq area, 3 lovely meals per day, great place to meet up with other guests, super hospitality staff always there. You will go on two game drives daily- one before breakfast with tea/coffee stop, the other before supper with wine/ beer, middle of day free for siesta or swimming/canoeing. Game drives 3-4 hours in rugged Land Cruisers, excellent, knowledgeable rangers, they know where animals are- they will stop for watching/ photography, we saw impala, buck, rhino, lion, elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, birdlife, giraffe, zebra, warthog, amazing! More about Kenton-on-Sea

Lying between Port Elizabeth and East London, Kenton-on-Sea is bordered by water on three sides. Kariega River and Boesman River are two tidal rivers flanking the city, and the ocean stretches out through the horizon. It is an approximately 75-minute ride from Port Elizabeth.

Beaches here are considered some of the best in South Africa, including Kariega Beach. Here, it’s less about littered coastlines and more about secluded coves, unspoiled dunes, and easy swimming. Anything from a chill stroll to diving can be enjoyed amongst the waves. The rivers also provide recreation as well as abundant bird and fish life. The African game experience can be had with a short drive inland to Kariega Game Reserve, Sibuya, or Shamwari and Lalibela Game Reserve.

When looking for a place to stay in Kenton-on-Sea, it’s just a matter of deciding if you want to stay near the coast or within the vicinity of a game reserve. From there, options include range from self-catering establishments to lodges. Be sure to check out the interactive map of Kenton-on-Sea for information on hotel locations, attractions, and must-see destinations.
