This hotel was by far the best hotel we have stayed at during our backpacking trip trough Thailand. The staff and especially the owner were so helpful and friendly.

The owner arranged a taxi for everyone staying at the hotel who wanted to go to the full moon party. She helped us to book our ferry and flights and drove us to the pier for free. The hotel is super clean, rooms got cleaned every day and the pool is great.

Had an amazing stay in the beachfront suite. Very modem design, in room jacuzzi, nice pool, amazing view, and directly in the middle of a small working fishing village.

Not the best swimming beach but those are only a short scooter ride away. The best swimming beach is bottle beach which is only 20 minutes by longtail. Wouldn't recommend staying at bottle beach overnight as the accomodations are not good. Lots of good restaurants by Mandalai, our favorites were a place called Texas on the corner and a great Italian place. Can't remember the name but it's the only one in Chakoloklum.

We stay in First and Frang for arround 2 weeks.. Its a good Hotel just in the middle of the center of Koh Phangan (Haad Salad).

. But i recommend to rent a motorbike if you wanna travel arround.. Otherwise for walk from the Pier i guess its arround 15minutes at least.. Very lovely rooms.. Stuff is good aswell just the girl on the reception looks like annoying and was not that friendly.. But only one of them.. The rest is friendly and smiles all the time 👍🏼 its a little bit like a home.. You can use the Kitchen and cook your own stuff (after you have to clean for sure by yourself) there is free water and you can also drink free tea or coffe as much as you want.. (we went searching shells and made them by ourself ) otherwise there is a daily Market in the center which sells everythint from seafood until sticky rice for less money too.. For clean room you have to give the key to reception but sometimes it took quite long.. But for us it wasnt any problem to wait until they make your room.. So the price is really cheap per Night arround 600 baht and you get a lot for that... Definitly a good place if you dont have the money for a high So Resort.. Pick up service from and to the Pier is 50 baht each Person 👍🏼

Everything was great, place is really super-nice as you enter the place you feel like you have really entered a jungle.

It's a few meters from the beach, there is family mart 100m from the place, quite a few cafes and restaurants around. You can even walk to a few beaches around (which we prefer) - to Secret Beach, Haad Yao (long beach) and even Salad beach if you are up for a longer walk (although there are a few ups-and-downs so be prepared for it! :D).

Pros: it's a good european standard hotel. Clean, new, pleasant, not damp or smelly. I really don't understand those complaining.

Location is very good in the middle of Chaloklum. The beach where it locates is not for swimming but all the nice beaches like Malibu beach, Haad Khom, Haad Salad are within 5 minutes on motorbike and a 7/11 within 2 minutes walk. So if you dont know the area or if you are planning to party every night than it's not the place for you, don't book it and then complain. And it is quiet all the time even the full moon party night which we appreciated. Cons: it was quite hot to sleep, usually I hardly ever use the fan but here it was hot at night and the fan turns on only together with the light. Probably the owners can do something to fix it. And you might want to opt for an AC room. And don't expect a service with a smile from the italian host who apparently is the boss.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Hiring scooters at resort is 150baht and free transfer to and from pier in Haad Rin. Will definately stay again.

Chose to stay at Tommy’s with a friend to be right in the action for the full moon party. The staff were very friendly and always looked after us being two young girls.

Koko, aming, pura and peto especially made us feel at home. Room service was always on time everyday and cleaned perfectly even after we had some wild nights in there. Massive pool with plenty of sun lounges and a dining area with pool table and also tables and lay down table restaurant seats on the beach front with a separate bar area that you can play your own music. Nothing but positive comments to say about our stay at Tommy’s and would recommend it to everyone looking to have a good time To party but also in a relaxing atmosphere. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else if we come back to Koh pangang! Love zharnay and Chloe 💜

My husband and I stayed in the upstairs double room for 1week last month and it was our favorite hotel on our 1 month vacation.

The room was modern and elegant with a very comfy bed. The bathroom was of concrete and beautiful... plenty of hot water and nice strong toilet. The location was perfect, walking distance from town... 10-15minutes but even better than walking in the hot sun, we rented a scooter for 5dollars a day and toured the entire island by ourselves. the owner, gave us great tips on where the best snorkeling was and it was one of the best snorkeling we've done in Thailand. My favorite was the hotel restaurant.. the fish that we had to order one day in advance was amazing, flavorful, fresh, big, and cheap.. like 8dollars? We wish we ate there everyday. Definitely would stay there again

Great location for a chilled holiday. Pool just by the beach, great sun loungers for relaxing in the sun.

Massages on the beach. The cottages were set in beautiful surroundings, ours had a great view of the sea. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff were all super friendly, helpful and welcoming. Great cocktails and bbq down on the beach and good choice for breakfast buffet in the morning. Although the resort is quite far from the main towns, there are a few small shops near by and it was quite nice to be chilling out in a much quieter place. We were 3 girls on holiday and there were lots of families there too so it seemed very family orientated. I would definitely recommend it as had a great stay.

Is located in the area with the best beach. Renting a bike to drive around is a must. It was amazing holiday for us, we relax and engoy the beautiful sunset on the beach and lot of masage :).

I recomend this hotel with all my heart. For the monety we payed is was very good. You really feel in paradise. Villa next to the pool it is a good choise. First think in the morning jump in the pool for a swimm it was amaizing.

Visited many islands in Thailand over the past month and Phangan definitely had the best beach. Its private with a bar for partying and hammocks and bean bags for relaxing.

Food is gorgeous and the staff there are really friendly (in particular the dude who looks about 12 but is probably 30) Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Check in was fast and efficient, very much appreciated when you have had a lengthy journey. The bungalow was clean on arrival with a bright spacious room and a sea view from the porch.

However we were told they generally gave the place a clean after 2 or 3 days and to let them know if there was anything we needed before. We tried to ask for clean towels after 3 days but the staff didn't understand and consequently the room was not serviced for the duration of our stay and we had one towel each for the 5 days. The bay, though impressive and pretty was not suitable for swimming. The location is isolated if you don't drive a motorbike. The breakfast was adequate but they ran out out of baguettes on day 3 of our stay so the only option was toast. The quality and service did not encourage us to try the restaurant for an evening meal. Top tip try the nest 89 next door for tasty, reasonable food served with a smile.

Small island you can travel around in one day on motorbike. But with very different beaches, some really very quiet and beautiful, some very busy full of party people.

We went to Phangan on a day trip. I would not recommend it. You have to hire a boat taxi to get out there and once there you are stuck.

Full of snorkelers looking at rocks in the ocean and who over ran the place. Beer was twice as much as on the main island. Even to sit in a chair on the beach you had to pay for it. Locals were not too friendly. A waste of a day in my opinion...unless you like looking at rocks under water.

5 nights is enough time. U can see the island in 1 day shopping is very basic. It is a very quite island and very relaxing and slow.

A great place to unwind. Eating local is wonderful. A few temples etc to visit which can all be done in a day trip around the island.

Based on what the locals say, this island receives about 5 - 6 times the no. of tourists during full moon party dates and super peak blocks compared to the rest of peak season.

That should give you an idea on how party centric the island is. There's not much to see/do otherwise. There's always a party going on somewhere every night. It honestly felt like walking into a secluded beach at Had Rin 2 days after the full moon party. If you're a thrill seeker, check out the Slip n Fly. It's just about the only fun to be had during the day.

Southern Part is Haar Rin Beach full of parties with nice beach but with very craggier road ahead to.

Middle part is Tongsala,the only one Pier in Koh Phangan also location for food market & weekend market.Northern part is Mae Haar Beach suitable for people looking for peaceful,also connect Koh Ma by sand which similar like Koh NanYuan can walk across through.The western part of Koh Phangan can drive by land route but eastern part only can visit by boats.CAUTION:Terrain of Koh Phangan is quite difficult for motobike specially aheading to southern part,highly deprecated riding motobike by none experience rider!Three traffic accidents per day in Koh Phangan!

Beautiful beaches and fun place to party with other tourists, but if you're looking for a Thai culture experience, this is NOT the place to go.

This island probably operates off of tourism for 90% of its revenue. It's a lot of westerners traveling to party and trash the island, all to be cleaned up by thai youth and poor families. Pretty disheartening to see, but at the same time, that's their livelihood I suppose. It was tough to witness, but overall I still was able to enjoy my time on the island. I just don't think I'll be returning to support the culture of herding tourists within the industry that further marginalizes the native people.

Just visited for my second time and I can say the island is the fasted devolping tourist spot I've ever been to, within 18 months time i feel like it's gone from a chill somewhat foreign feeling island to going and visiting a china town in the U.

S, if your looking for an exotic location here is not the spot, it's just about raging your face off here even if your going for yoga or mediation or sightseeing it's infused into the party scene, I won't be going back but to each there own.

Koh Phangan has changed a lot over the years, it use to be a place where one could go and relax, take some tail boats around the islands.

But now its become quite a comercial place. If you are looking to party days in a row. Its a great place to go. If you are looking to relax I would consider the less develop islands like 'Koh Lipe'

Don't hire a bike unless you really have hadalot of experience, the bikes for hire usually have no tread on tyres and there is a lot of sand and gravel on the roads, get songtheaw taxis, they're cheap enough or use a water taxi to get to other beaches

very beautiful Island , if you go to Haad rin and you want a remote beach go to the coco hut beach- beautiful and quiet very close and almost not known to anyone take a trip to Haad sadet waterfalls there are many nice tours sold on every tourist booking shop make sure you take one and go with good camera - if you can , take a waterproof camera and a waterproof bag the boats dont have pier and you need to swim to the boat make sure your stay is either on "halfmoon party or full moon party try to stick to one resturant which doesnt make you sick.
