"After staying in Cairo & Aswan, I was finally feeling relaxed once I stepped into this hotel. As a single gal traveller (Chinese gal) - I felt harassed everywhere - guess not many Asian single travelers in Egypt!! Feeling secure & at ease was just what I needed!!! Staff there seem more flexible & smart- after talking to people in Luxor - major difference is that it's a town all about tourism! And indeed, wandering ard town, guys still came up selling you cruises, or asked "what's ur name?" - but none was as pushy as elsewhere!! So I dared to walk around Luxor alone at night, though still not highly advised if you are off the main streets, of coz! I got a room facing Nile - must request! As they have other rooms facing the inside of the hotel with no balcony - that would be gloomy!!!! Anyhow - I woke up for the tour during daybreak and saw across hot air balloons flying towards the not yet descended moon - it was just awesome, ESP it's above the Nile!!!! :))) Highly recommend here!! Their restaurants don't serve much Egyptian cuisine!"

"Had an exceptional stay at the Steigenberger Nile Palace. The location is good, only a 15 mins walk to the Luxor temple or a 5 mins cab ride to the Karnak Temple. The reception was courteous and warm. There was a bit of confusion regarding the reservation leading to a delay of 30 mins in check in, however the management more than made it up for us by offering us a complimentary upgrade to the Nile View rooms. The view from the room was breathtaking, our advise is to pay a bit more and book these rooms. The buffet breakfast at the Nubian is a sumptuous spread and we enjoyed it. We also had a nice dinner at the Nubian restaurant. The service was impeccable and very attentive. The hotel has quite a few restaurants to cater for every taste and two quaint bars. The hotel has a nice river front from where we were picked up by our felucca in the evening for a sail in the Nile. Overall, a memorable stay. Only negatives is the empty mini-bar and no shoe shine strips in the room, you need them both after walking the dusty Valley of Kings. Wish you a pleasant stay."

"This resort has beautiful landscaping and very clean modern rooms. A relaxing place to stay with kids. We enjoyed the pools, restaurants and convenient location. Concierge was helpful and called reputable taxi drivers for us. The staff let us know the taxi fares to the sites( Valley of the Kings, Tomb of the Nobles, temples) so we were able travel independently, which we love doing. There is a tour guide office on site if you prefer. Cleaning staff left us bottled water in the room, which was a nice touch. We were surprised that more tourists were not staying here since it is such a beautiful hotel and service was outstanding! This was a five star hotel experience and Luxor has a plethora of ancient Egyptian temples and tombs. "

"stayed here at the end of a family adventure holiday wanting a better standard of hotel with pools to relax in and we were not disappointed. great room, clean, decent size with pool view. my daughter spent most of the time in the rooms since she wasn't feeling well and appreciated the amenities including the large widescreen tv and great film channel. fantastic buffet breakfast - all the usual egyptian and continental food plus omelettes and pancakes. pools were wonderful, one heated like a warm bath and one lovely and fresh to escape from the scorching heat. i was told that only about 25% of rooms were full, so we had no problems with getting sun loungers and space. gardens were incredibly well tended - i was up at 5am and the staff were busy sweeping away every stray leaf and polishing every light fitting. the staff were very friendly and helpful. we only tried eating at the italian where my daughter was a bit disappointed with her pizza but since we spend a lot of time in italy, that was bound to happen! the only negative thing was that since we were getting the sleeper train back to cairo we had to pay for a late check-out which was as much as the room cost in the first place, which i thought was a bit excessive. but i suppose with tourist numbers down they try to get every extra bit of money that they can and they had let us check in early so that we could get away from our previous not so nice luxor hotel! "It was amazing! The value is unbelievable. Very clean hotel and super friendly. Food is great. They literary grow their own vegetables on the bank of the Nile river and harvest it every day. Free breakfast buffets offered delicious food and dinner buffets cost only $12. There are Italian, French, Buffet restaurants and a bar that also serves food. Staff are very personable and helpful. Pools are nice and clean. The big pool with slides is very good for the children. There is another one that is heated in the winter months doesn't allow children - which is a plus for couples. All pools have bars. The SPA is very affordable as well. 2 hour massage with steam room and facial was only $50. You also can do your nails done and get a haircut at the Salon. Taxis are only 2 min call away. Drive to the downtown of Luxor (Luxor Temple) takes only 10 min. Free of charge shuttle to the city. Hotel has a fixed price for taxis to take you to an excursion, which is half of the street price! Book it! "
