Nicely located near the Parc de la Tete d'Or. Very friendly and helpful personal. Good sized rooms. Good breakfast for a reasonable price (€ 15).

Around 20 mins walking distance to shopping area and commercial center The room is very spaicious and the staff are helpful. I love this room very much and I will definitely book this hotel again if I go Lyon again. The only thing is the church nearby rings the bell every hours or every half hour in the morning so if you are easily wake up by sound, you may not able to sleep late.

This was my first hotel in France and when I stepped into the room I thought I was starring in a French comedy. The room had a bed and not much space for anything else; and a bathroom smaller than most wardrobes. However, it's surprising what you can get used to and I quickly adapted to the compact and cosy space. The location is excellent, right by the local and regional transport hub including the train to Paris. The staff were great - typically French in being friendly and helpful. Overall 10/10.

Nice hotel in the commercial area of Lyon. Room was small with a huge bathroom but overlooked the courtyard and was nice and quiet! You can walk to the centre of Lyon in 20 minutes, or take the metro to Bellecoure if that’s preferable.

You'll love Old Town Lyon but you'll miss a truly wonderful experience if you miss Villa Florentine. The views. The patios. The relaxation. Its all here in the heart of Vieux Lyon.

Citadines is located right off the main shopping street. It's just a few blocks in, but it's silent in the rooms , the best of both worlds. We had a kitchen in the room, which was great even though we didn't need it in Lyon! There are tons of bouchons around the area, and it's a quick walk to the riverside. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Wifi was great. Overall, a great place to stay.

The hotel is the top half of the tallest building in the Lyons CBD, starting from level 40 - so amazing views. Otherwise a good/average business hotel. Large rooms, good facilities, uninspiring bar and restaurant - apart from the view of course!

Despite the room being clean, it did feel a little dated. However, the facilities more than made up for it. With excellent wifi for working, spacious room, safe (paid) parking on-site, friendly staff and close proximity to the center of Lyon this was unbeatable for price. Thanks for a great stay

Very nice neibourghood, perfectly clean room, with confortable beds. Easy to get to Rhonexpress and then to the airport: at just two metro stations from it.

I arrive by train to Lyon Part Dieu station. I only spendd 15 to 20 minutes by tramway No T3 to reach Perrache Station, area from the hotel. If you come by car, Perrache Parking, is at 100 m from the hotel. Very good value in the centre of Lyon city !!

Lyon is the food capital of France as we were told. We had a wonderful experience. We were fortunate enough to come across Les Halles during our self directed orientation of the area and found it to be the greatest food market ever. Try the Foie Gras Macaroons. This hotel isn't the closest to the main town but is manageable if ya wanna go that route. We opted for a scooter on our second day. Staff were courteous and mainly out of the way.

When we arrived in Lyon it was raining for the first time of our 5 week trip, but the staff was very helpful and had amazing umbrellas, so it wasn't too bad. We also got a free upgrade to a better room because we were on our honeymoon - much appreciated. The costumer service was impeccable and they have fantastic recommendations for restaurants and called to book for us both nights. There is a spa at the hotel and we wanted massages organised on a Sunday, which they still did for us, even though their usual guy don't work Sundays. Unfortunately the "other guy" was trying to reinvent the massage and it was more like a tickle than a massage. We appreciated the effort the staff went through to have it organised though. There is also a hamam in the spa you can use whenever you like - great in a cold, rainy day. The location is great and the double windows are fantastic at blocking out any sound when you get sick of the music from the carousel outside on the street... Would definitely recommend staying here while in Lyon.

The hotel is situated 6 tram stops away from Lyon Part-Dieu Railway Station, but it is in the inside streets away from the main tram road. Nice and quiet neighbourhood. The rooms are clean and tidy but a bit small and crowded. Free wifi connection though a bit slow in some times. Many good restaurants nearby and the staff would introduce you. The breakfast was not as rich as we thought of. The same price could dine better at Part-Dieu Commercial Centre.

It is a upper class, central located Hotel. The service is very good, people are very friendly and are supporting with any question or problem. the room wasn't to big but confortable and (whats not else expected) clean. Modern entertainment systems in the room. The Highlight is the bar on the top with a nice view over Lyon and the Rhone river.

Good location, just 2-3 min walk from the train station. There is a large shopping mall on the other side of the train station, around 10 min walk from the hotel with lots of fast food restaurants and shops. Spacious room. Good to have the toilet separated from the bathroom, esp for family travellers.

Great location, just outside Lyon, easy access to Bellecour by tram or river taxi. Next to mall, near to restaurants. Room is big, clean & with good size toilet. Breakfast is of standard spread. The wifi is a little poor in connection but definitely acceptable. Will be back if in Lyon.

To start with the location wasn't too convenient and the staff weren't able to speak English very well so we had some trouble communicating.. You can cook here but the stove and kitchenware might not work properly... our stove didn't seem to turn off for some reason. Only stayed there for a night but I don't plan on revisiting this place. It was larger than a normal hotel and the bathroom was really big but other than that, not very appealing.

I traveled with my mom and we extended our stay in Lyon, stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. It was a bit stuffy in the room during the end of August. Our room is not air-conditioned, but it has a fan, which is not bad. It'll be perfect if the room is on a higher floor, then you can open the window with the help of the fan to cool down. Ca marche! But ours is on the 3rd (In France, it's 2nd). We have to close the window during our sleep. Inconveniences: no hairdryer, not enough sockets for recharging computers and cellphones. (Only one extra, besides those for the TV, fan, and other appliances in the room...) The hotel is close to the station, but a bit far from the vieux Lyon. The people at the counter are friendly and very helpful, which is the plus!

the staff of the hotel was really friendly and helpful, and made our first night in our week-long stay in France memorable and exciting. the location was also convenient to shops and historical sites. the room was cosy and clean. in all, I recommend people visiting Lyon to stay at Mercure Lyon Plaza Republique.

Our stay was nice. The hotel is next to the Perrache station and provided very easy access to the main attractions in Lyon.

Lovely hotel , although on a main street the hotel isin a quiet residential are, felt very safe there. Good shops/cafes nearby with a restaurant next door, cafe down the room selling lovely pastries. short walk over two rivers Rhone and Saone to old centre, good transport links with trams, buses and metro covering Lyon and funiculure to the top near the old centre. Hotel so clean you could smell lovely clean crisp white sheets. Staff so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Hotel secuirity good with safe free of charge in the room, key code to get in main downstairs door and key code to enter second floorlobby. Our room was 22 overlooking the road - nice and spacious with flat screen /tv good wardrobe area and nice bathroom with bath/shower. Owner favours fleur de lys design - on carpets bedding, towelling robes etc. Good breakfast. Would certainly return.

We were a group of 4 people in total and booked 2 rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very decent and comfortable, and so were the bathrooms. Regarding the location of the hotel, it wasn't too far off from anything but not too close either. I would say it took us about 20-25 minutes walk to reach Old Lyon, which is the main thing in the city. The only gripe I have about the hotel is the PARKING LOT. The parking lot is VERY, VERY small, and there are pillars in the small lot, so it's very easy to scratch your car if you're not careful. Except the parking, everything else was quite pleasant. Would definitely book again.

This is my second stay and its even better than before after undergoing a stylish and graceful renovation. Great value for money with large rooms, great beds and a good breakfast. Staff were helpful and the location is second to none in the heart of Lyon,close to the Tourist Information office. Will definitely stay again if returning to Lyon.

The hotel is nicely located near to the University Lumiere Lyon 2 and other places of interest; one can reach the hole central town well by public transport which runs frequently. There are multiday tickets for the transport available. The breakfast in the hotel is very nice. The room prices are moderate. The staff is friendly and helpful. The infrastructure of the hotel (warm water, internet, ...) might be exhausted at peak hours, so it is good to get up early when one wants a warm morning shower.

it has good location. just 10 min walk from the lyon part dieu station. the room was clean but if you expect some hotel facilities in the room, then you will be disappointed.

This Hotel is located in a decent location and near to major train stations. Staff and reception are awesome and they do speak English and address all your concerns politely

An easy walk or electric scooter ride (if you haven't tried these, you're missing out!) to other parts of Lyon, especially Old Lyon. Grand Hotel des Terreaux is definitely one for those who prefer old world charm over generic modern hotel rooms - my wife loved it. The views are just of nearby buildings rather than any city panorama - but when you're in charming old town, there ain't nothing wrong with that. The young staff are lovely and helpful. There is an interesting indoor pool (and not many hotels have pools) that's been built in an old cellar through the breakfast area - though it's only very, very slightly heated - the adjoining jacuzzi is the same temperature as the pool - so more of a summer option than for spring when we visited.

Good things: - great location, immediately above Ampere-Victor Hugo station, with staircase with outside hotel and elevator very close by (within 30 metres) - extremely comfortable bed (firm enough) - large bathroom with heating element - 24hr reception with helpful staff Things that can be improved upon: - shower stall door -- some water tends to leak from under the door, which then causes part of the toilet to be wet. May prove a bit unsafe - no fridge/minibar Didn't try the food, not sure about quality, but looked ok. Overall, very value-for-money, will definitely choose to stay again next time in Lyon
