Málaga hotels & places to stay

Our short break from the wind and rain of north east England was a great success. The Silken was a lovely hotel two steps from the station and therefore easy from the direct Newcastle flight to Malaga. Hotel room was spacious and well equipped. Breakfasts which were complimentary were excellent. Malaga is a stunning city and as an extra bonus we saw the lighting ceremony of the Christmas lights. They were gorgeous.

This hotel exceeded my expectations during our recent family vacation - two families traveling with children. The hotel is within walking distance to Train, Old Town and beach. The facilities are great for young and old - the pool is delightful, the spa area is a bonus. The rooms are wonderfully spacious, quiet and exceptionally clean. The location was close enough to walk to many parts of Malaga, including residential areas to eat a local restaurants. A special thanks to the staff who went out of their way to accommodate two families traveling together.

Looking for a quality short stay in Malaga then this hotel should be on your short list. In the centre of the "old town" it is walking distance from just about everywhere. A bit like the tardis from a small entrance it opens up to be a beautiful building. Lovingly renovated we were told it was in time a former palace and the exposed brick wall was part of the structure surrounding the old town. Quality is the watchword here. Staff, accommodation, fittings and breakfast. The rooms are large and airy and the bed is very comfortable. There re a couple of things that could be tweaked so please note they don't serve dinner, the mini bar doesn't have my favourite tipple brandy and there is only a Nespresso in the bedroom- no tea or complimentary water. Picky, maybe. But for a 4* it´s all in the detail. Only open a year I´m sure they will go from strength to strength. We¨ll be back and might even see you there!

We were so pleased we chose to stay here for our brief stop over in Malaga. Hotel is lovely and rooms and facilities are of a very high standard. The staff were exceptionally friendly, professional and accommodating. We were able to extend our check out time (at a fee) until the early evening to catch a late flight which was a huge advantage as we were traveling with a young toddler. The rooftop pool is lovely and we enjoyed a number of dips here. The bed was very comfy and bathroom facilities fabulous. The location was within easy walking distance to everything. So thrilled we found this amazing hotel and can not recommend it more highly!

need a car for this location. other than that all good .. nice gym, nice breakfast, friendly staff. would return

the hotel position on the seafront overlooking the port could not be better, particularly if you enjoy watching the comings and goings of ferries and cruise ships. a room with a view of the port at a higher floor is best, although rooms on floor 12-14 don't have balconies. te rooftop pool is on floor 15 and has a great view across the city and the port. in common with most hotels in spain there are no facilities for making hot drinks in the rooms - a must have for many uk tourists. car parking is a nightmare in the centre of malaga and so if you have a car be prepared to pay an extra euros or so on parking. we parked our hire car about 20 minutes walk away to aviod the charges. hotel euros, nearby public parking euros, on street cheaper but very difficult to find a free spot. malaga is a great city that is often overlooked by those going to the airport en route to cds. it is very spanish and has a really good atmosphere. christmas decorations and new year celebrations were great.

We booked the Campanile Malaga Hotel because of the location. our plane landed very late in Malaga and we wanted to stay close to the airport. Arriving by rental car the hotel was easy to find by GPS. Hotel provides free parking for guests. Check in was quick, and the staff was very friendly. Room was of good size, basic but clean. Bathroom was also good with plenty of hot water with good pressure. Free internet in the room was a big plus. Tv mostly spanish and french channels, but had one english news channel. No traffic noise in our room. Breakfast was to basic, selection very limited but coffee was excellent. Check out very fast, and again staff very friendly. We recommend this hotel for anyone needing a hotel close to the airport. It was good value for money.

The location is good. It can access the old town and the train/bus station within 15 mins. The room is spacious that we spent two nights comfortably. The staff are super nice all the time. However, it is not good that the room does not provide free water for us. Also, I don’t like the breakfast of the Novotel in Spain. I have stayed in few Novotel hotels in Spain. There are not much choice for breakfast and the quality of the food is not too high as well

This small boutique hotel was perfect for our short stay in Malaga (which we loved). Simple, modern facilities in a lovely traditional building. Very accessible to visit the central sights just 10-15mins away on foot and similarly close to the beach and seafront walk to watch sunrise with only the men fishing as company. The hotel is close to the bus route from the airport and also a taxi from the rank outside took us to the railway station in less than 5mins. We didn't arrange breakfast with our booking and instead stumbled upon a hidden churro joint down an alley packed with locals and intensely busy staff. Great experience and when passing it again a wee while later, all was shut up with no sign of any previous activity. I can't comment on the hotel's breakfast but I were staying again I would look to go out for breakfast - it's easy to do because of the hotels accessible location and what we found was great. This hotel suited our needs extremely well.

we needed a one night stop over in malaga and did not want to stay in town. this was a great location just across from the beach. it was a 7 euro taxi to the city which is convenient for shopping and meals but a more expensive taxi to the airport make sure you plan breakfast as we could not find anything nearby and the only option was to eat in the hotel of pick something up at the airport

We arrived in Malaga for a wedding and we were pleasantly surprised how enjoyable the facilities were as well as how helpful the staff was with organizing our taxis and other services we needed from the hotel. The Buffett breakfast was also delicious. Definitely recommend the NH Hotel

We really enjoyed staying at Hotel Barceló Malaga. We only stayed one night before heading home to Sweden. We wanted to be fairly close to the airport and it only took about 10mins by car to reach the airport by car. The hotel has a modern and fun interior, the staff is professional and friendly, the breakfast buffet was fantastic and the hotel is located about a15-20 mins walk from the centre of Malaga. The hotel is located right next to the central train station and a shopping centre. I would stay here again.

We always come back to this little, charming hotel! It's situated in a perfect walk distance outside Malaga city. Outside the hotel window you hear the Mediterranean Sea waves lacy fall down on to the beach. The restaurant serves you fantastic meals, all day long. The breakfast is even accompanied by quiet classic music performed by serious practitioners. An amazing experience!

We were pleasantly surprise seeing the new modern equipped apartment close to the historical part of town. The staff was very friendly and gave us a lot of valuable tips to find our way around Malaga. The apartment is approx.20 minutes walking distance from the railways station, 30 min.from the bus station and 10 min from the historical part of town. Malaga has so much to offer our three days stay was much to short to see everything in Malaga and surrounding. We can highly recommend to stay at the Apartementos San Pablo.

Even though it around 15 min bus from city of Malaga, it is situated in a nice calm neighborhood with a short walk to the beach and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Staff is polite, hotel room was clean. It felt like a safe place to stay.

We stayed in this beautiful ancient parador for 2 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. When we arrived late in the evening and were greeted warmly by the helpful front desk staff. Our room was clean and appealing with a beautiful view from our balcony of the the Mediterranean, the lights of the city and the mountains. We had dinner in the restaurant with excellent food and wonderful service.. The breakfast buffet was also great with a lot of fresh fruit selections in addition a spread of meats, cheeses, cereals, juices, coffee, tea. Gluten free options were available at both meals. During the day, the view of Malaga from our room was fabulous. Located close to the Gibralfaro Castle, we walked down to the city/beach on a stone walkway which was quite steep but a fun adventure. Climbing back up to the hotel was quite strenuous, but a fun adventure, so beware - taxis are also available. This was an amazing place and we'd definitely stay here again!

Great location and facilities on the beach. About 20 minutes from Malaga. Nice spot to chill if you want to take a break from sightseeing and ditch the city.

Very close to Malaga airport, so ideal for late arrivals, early departures, but rooms are very well sound-proofed, so no problem with aircraft noise. For those arriving late and hungry, the restaurant serves excellent food, up till 11pm. Friendly, helpful staff, many of whom speak good English. Spacious gardens, right onto the beach, plus a golf course.

Booked last minute and delighted. Fantastic central location in quirky back street. Spacious room. Clean and bright. Kitchen facility perfect. No outside space might be a downside in summer. Would have appreciated clean towels after a couple of days. Absolutely loved Malaga. Was a revelation. Beautiful clean city. Very Spanish, great restaurant s and bars and very reasonable.

We loved our stay at La Siesta Malaga Guesthouse. The location was great - close enough to walk to everything but still set back enough to be really quiet. The room was beautifully done and was immaculately clean, a real haven to come back to at the end of a busy day. We also loved the small touches at La siesta. There is a blackboard with daily recommendations e.g.. best places to drink wine, best boulevards, how to order a coffee in Malaga etc. There were also beach towels and parasols on offer for lazy beach days for only €3 per stay. The staff were brilliant, on arrival Agnes showed us everything we could need and was on hand with great recommendations for places to eat/things to do. Overall a brilliant stay and we would not hesitate to recommend!

Second time we stayed here, handily positioned between metro/train station and shops in centre of town. We opted to pay for an upgrade of 8 Euro per night, so we could have a room (203), at the front of the hotel, with a balcony. Well worth it. Room had kettle and coffee/tea facilities, enough power plugs, little fridge, good wardrobe space and dressing table, flat screen TV and very comfortable beds. Bathroom had shower over bath, nice toiletries and towels. Very friendly and helpful staff, both at reception and 'behind the scene'. Free safe keeping of luggage on last day. Room always cleaned/made up to an excellent standard. Definitely only staying here from now on when we're visiting Malaga, thanks Atarazanas!

We had a pleasant stay at this small boutique hotel which is tucked in a quiet alley just off the main square Plaza de la Merced of Malaga. The rooms are individually decorated with Moroccan theme, and staff/ owner were very helpful and friendly. The only problem is that some water features in the bathroom (sink and shower) don't work probably so sometimes the water got blocked and sometimes water was everywhere.

Everything is excellent about this apartment. Spacious, good cooking facilities, located perfectly in the historical centre of Malaga. Rooms were modern, spacious, clean and tidy. I will definitely re-book when I return to Malaga.

Staff were very friendly, neighbourhood had a laid back vibe unlike the stressed commercialism of those hotels downtown. Still, the neighbourhood has lots of food places and even shopping (at Malaga Train Station). Room was well sized and very clean, bed very comfortable, WiFi strong, TV had channel with English news and good showers. Definitely recommended.

Everyone was very kind and welcoming. It was clean and organized. Bus stop to the Málaga Center was right around the corner and even the beach was close. I really enjoyed staying at this hostel.
