If you would like to stay the hotel with outdoor swimming pools, gym and restaurant within city areas, E outfitting will be very few of them and you can chill with those facilities. Almost 24 hours tea house is also just beside this hotel. Chills and enjoy!! "

"This place was much nicer than our other hotel in Mandalay. Everything worked, bathroom was nice with no smell, breakfast was on the rooftop with a nice view of Mandalay. We had a room on the 8th floor so there was less street noise to deal with. Very relaxing. Would stay again here!"

"I have stayed in hotels all around Myanmar having lived and worked in the country for 4 years. The Link 78 in Mandalay is by far the best all round hotel I have stayed in. This is intriguing because it's far from the most expensive. It's what you would say is 'mid-range' in terms of price. However the quality of the rooms, the service, and especially the food, is simply the best in Myanmar I have experienced. It's worth visiting the restaurant on the top floor even if you are not staying int he hotel, the food is truly first class and not at all expensive. In the past 4 years I have stayed in about 15 different hotels in Mandalay. Over the past 6 months it has been the same hotel each time and I cannot see myself staying anywhere else. Well done to the Link 78 Mandalay - as a business traveller, you are the first hotel in Myanmar that has truly satisfied me and achieved international standards. "

"I had some really bad hostels and hotels in Myanmar. I was very happy about this one. The staff was very friendly, the room spacious and clean, breakfast was ok. The program they offer makes it easy to meet other travellers and to do activities for a fair price. My only feedback would be that they could share more detailed informations because all of us had different information about the length of this activities. The roof top is amazing. You can watch the sunset, have a beer, enjoy the free cigars if you want, relax and enjoy your day. You have free water, coffee and tea in the hostel and I enjoyed that a lot. The decoration in the hostel is very pretty with nice wall paintings on all floors. I heard even better feedback of the ostello Bello in bagan. I can definitely recommend ostello Bello mandalay. But book online- for some reason that's cheaper than booking with them. Thank you for a nice stay"

" Brilliant hotel in Mandalay with good English speaking staff. Staff go out of there way to help and assist you with all your needs and queries. Hotel is down a small alleyway but there are staff on the main road all day waiting for any drop offs/pick ups and they carry your bags. As mentioned before hotel has no escalator but bags are carried up and down for you. Hotel is very clean.....the only negative I could point out was bed sheets smelt abit musty. Hotel arranged a driver tour for the day for me and also my onward bus travel to Bagan with hotel pick up and drop off at destination for reasonable price. Breakfast was good.....what seems to be the standard in Myanmar...tea, coffee, fresh juices, eggs (cooked to your choice) hot food such as noddles etc and various bread options. the hotel also recommend various restaurant which are nearby.....I can recommended the local BBQ restaurant on the street just opposite - fabulous fresh food and not to worry about hygiene as it is all cooked there in front of you. I also tried the Thai restaurant (Thai Mhat? I think) that the hotel recommended.....best meal I had in all of Myanmar....reasonably priced, nice air con surroundings, good service and of course a fabulous meal. All in all I would recommend you to stay in during your time in Mandalay and it was also great value for money. "

"Yadanarpon is well located close to the old palace and a few minutes in a taxi from downtown Mandalay. Room was good, everything worked. Wifi was pretty good for Myanmar, best I had during my stay in the country. Staff were really good, went out of their way to help. My Burmese is pretty bad so a bit of patience and everything got done. Rooftop bar isn't really one, they rollout a few tables at sunset. In fact, I don't think there was a bar there at all. It's just a couple of minutes walk down the road to street stalls and restaurants anyway, no problem. Close to sunset a loud noise emanated from some contraption near reception which then started to give off clouds of toxic smelling smoke, I had to close the balcony doors. Apparently it was to kill mossies.....(sledgehammer..walnut etc) Good hotel. If you're traveling in Myanmar you'll soon get used to the different hotel standards and learn not to be too picky about the small things. I'd stay there again"

"Although the rooms may feel a little small, our room had a working aircon, TV and fridge along with hair dryer and bathrobes and all amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Love the fact that there is a kettle so you can get yourself a hot cuppa when you want. The guys in reception were super helpful, booked us boat tickets to Bagan, sorted out the transfer to the pier as well as a little packed breakfast on departure. The breakfast is substantial with really helpful staff as well. All in all, a great experience, especially as our first 3 star Mandalay hotel was a bit of a disaster! "

"This was the best room that I have stayed in, so far in Myanmar (over several moths). Very large, newly built so very clean, and very well appointed, including a king bed. The spa and gym were not completed yet, but there is a nice rooftop bar and a restaurant below. The food was fine and the view very nice from the roof, and many other restaurants are within walking distance. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. It's a bit south in Mandalay, but attractions are minutes away by taxi or tuk-tuk. Airport is still 45 minutes by taxi."

More about Mandalay

Mandalay is one of the largest cities in Myanmar, and was once the capital of the country. As the former seat of Myanmar’s royal past, the city is steeped in history and culture, making it a great place to visit and experience not only the local culture but a great deal of this country’s past.

The city is served by Mandalay International Airport, a busy travel hub with flights serving most of Myanmar, as well as some international flights to surrounding countries.

Mandalay Palace, also known as the Royal Palace, was built in 1861 but unfortunately destroyed during the Second World War. The palace was since rebuilt using different materials from the original, but it’s a very large and impressive complex that should be explored if only for the glimpse of history it offers. There are several hotels near the royal palace, making it even easier to access this site without having to travel too far to reach it. There are strict rules for entry points and certain expectations of dress and behavior, as some of the exhibits are religious in nature.

Shwenandaw Monasteryis a beautiful building with stunningly intricate wooden carvings and golden details. This monastery was a part of the former palace complex, and has been beautifully maintained. This teak wood structure is a huge draw for many who visit Myanmar, and understandably one of the most visited places not only by devotees of the Buddhist faith, but tourists as well. There are many hotels near Shwenandaw Monastery in northern Mandalay, most of which are conveniently located within a short distance of the attraction and range in different types of accommodation.
