This was my second stay at Residhome Marseille. I came back for the location (200m from the TGV station Marseille Saint-Charles and all the things in the city center are at a walking distance). Via Agoda.com we made a great deal: a private studio with balcony, kitchen and a bath. Neighbouring street can be somewhat noisy, but when you close the door to the balcony, it's completely silent. Studios are pretty well isolated for heath and noise. There is aircon as well. We didn't take a breakfast at this place, because this was, according to us, somewhat overpriced (12 euros per person).

Would stay again next time. No need to consider any other hotel. Luxurious atmosphere at night to enjoy the wonderful view of the Cathedral !

New Hotel of Marseille is a quite excellent hotel for business trip as well as for leisure; Rooms are large and very convenient. Hotel is at 10 min walk from downtown city and 10 min walk from beaches. Swimming pool stays open 24 hours per day and the restaurant offers affordable dishes in a pleasant place

Loved the staff there, so friendly and nice. We were there during the World Cup and it was fun watching the game with the guests in the lobby of the hotel! Location very good, could be slightly better but definitely not bad at all! There's a tram stop right outside the hotel where you can get to the centre with literally 2 stops.

I really wanted to prolong my stay. Everything was lovely. The view was really as amazing as it looks in photos. My room was beautiful, spacious, with a nice bath, and great decor. Everything worked nicely, with extra nice touches. The breakfast was great, also with an amazing view. The hotel itself has a pretty nice restaurant/bar. And right along there is a strip of nice seafood restaurants (I liked Chez Roger). Cross the street and you're right at the harbor, with the market three times a week. Great place to relax and a great base to explore Marseille, which, by the way, is a lovely town. Don't forget to grab your free hat from your room! Loved it!

This hotel is right on the waterfront at Vieux Port, and two very easy Metro stops on Metro Line M1 from Marseille St Charles - Central Railway Station. The entrance is tucked between two restaurants and Reception is on the first floor up a broad set of stairs. Staff were helpful and friendly - and most seemed to be at least bilingual (French and English) at least. I paid EUR 20 extra to ensure a room with a view and was allocated Room 404 on the fourth floor (there is a tiny elevator so fourth floor is easy access after the first flight of stairs) which was small, but well-equipped and with windows looking straight into the harbour and the splendid sunset. Breakfast was quite satisfactory - and there are scores of restaurants nearby if still hungry. Excellent location and value for money.

Our stay was comfortable but a little bland,we stayed there at the end of a 12 day stint in Southern France and were really in need of a pool and total chill out,however the pool and pool area could have been cleaner,our room which was comfortable had a T.V which had no english channels except the news on a loop and you couldn't get movies on demand,which normally we wouldn't care about because we don't go on holiday to watch T.V,but we really were in the mood to just chill and relax in front of a movie,so we found this really annoying and a little behind the times,not a terrible stay but really just forgettable.

I think its one of the best hotel in Marseille but over priced just too much disappointed we made decision to go to Marseille didn't feel safe

Sofitel is well located it's really 5 star facilities, bar restaurant and the view is superb.. Relaxing, Highly recommendable to family, Couples and Friends.

This property is ideally located at the mouth of Marseille´s Old Port. It is adjacent to a subway and within a couple blocks of the tram. At the same time, it is a 15-minute walk from Saint Charles station (main train station in Marseille). Virtually all tourist attractions are within walking distance - or within very easy reach on public transportation. Staff members go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. By French standards, the hotel breakfast exceeded my expectations. Standard rooms have good size - particularly the bathrooms that have nice tile decorations. I really can´t say there was anything that I did not like!

It's good brand of hotel chains, you can trust them. The hotel opposite Marseille railway station.

We had a 5 day break, we'd asked for an early check - on booking (which you have to pay for by the way) but still not get our rooms until 4pm. On checking in we weren't told where any of the facilities were, including where or when breakfast was, pool, gym etc. I had to keep asking throughout our stay. We also asked for a late check out (again you have to pay) but had to leave by 12noon. Regarding the food - there was limited choice and the quality is not the best, breakfast was again limited in choice and quality. On booking I'd requested gluten and dairy free options, however, on arrival at breakfast when I asked for these options, I was given a couple of small cakes (pre packaged) out of a box in the cupboard, and when I asked if they were gluten and dairy free was told they were gluten free but a shrug of the shoulders if they were dairy free! Appaulling service, especially if you have allergies, I will defininately not be returning or recommending Nhow to anyone - stay away!!

No exhaust in bathroom, and no shower curtain, very hard to avoid getting the bathroom floor wet. Provided cute Marseille soap cube, shower gel, shampoo, and creme, took them as souvenirs. Staff was very nice, allowed us to check in early as the room was ready. Gave us good recommendation for Bistro L'Horloge near by and we could have a very good meal. They provide room service meals at okay prices, thought it was interesting...if I had been a writer instead of a tourist.... Petit dejeuner (breakfast) was for 12€ or express for 6€ (?) but we didn't take it as a decent looking pâtisserie was literally next door.

we only had a one day stay in marseilles, so location was key. this place was just 2 metro stops or a manageable walk from the main train station. it's also walkable from here to the port and many interesting neighborhoods. the room itself was nothing special, but we have no complaints either. we would stay here again for the location and value.

The hotel is very close to the metro, Perier (I think) and was very easy to find. The security at the hotel is very tight, which, for us, is a good thing. The bed is comfortable, and the room is quite spacious. The best thing was the kitchen set-up, it was great to be able to cook simple meals for ourselves. And Carrefour is in the same building, which makes it very convenient! We really enjoyed our stay there, and will definitely stay there again, if ever in Marseille.

Very good experience and we enjoyed it very much~ the reception was very friendly and very nice, they gave us all the instructions of the city and good places to view, and the hotel is very close to the old port of marseille. We like it very much and we will be back when we go to Marseille again.

Perfect for our Group. Just not you need to pull out the sofa bed and put the linen on yourself. It had a kitchen as well if you needed.

This hotel was unobtrusively located in the heart of Marseille, just a few blocks from the Port. The rooms were small but efficient; the breakfast was complete and more than adequate; the staff were great, including speaking English well enough to give us very good help and advice for getting around the city. I can easily recommend the hotel with one qualification: rooms on the alley side are noisy, as the alley seems to be a gathering place for men in the neighborhood. Once we asked for, and were easily given, a move to a room overlooking the street, we had no further problems with noise. Be prepared for a stimulating slice of life: it's a busy, vibrant, and diverse neighborhood, but great for getting an authentic experience of Marseille. 24/7 access to the guest coffee machine was a very nice bonus.

This neighbourhood isn't the best, but it is near a Carrefour City, near the metro into town and has all the facilities (like kitchen, laundry, etc.) that you would need for a comfortable stay.

We are an elderly couple who required a hotel in Marseille for just one night. The location, near the waterfront was ideal and the beautiful outlook from the bar enabled one to 'people watch' and witness the vibrancy of the port whilst sipping a good wine in air conditioning. The location was ideal and walking to Notre Dame and the old town was not too demanding even for us. The hotel room was of a high standard and the large bathroom was luxurious. The hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful with their advice on restaurants and local transport.

This is actually not a hotel it is an appartment building. While you do get a kitchenette and a very new comforatable room at an affordable price they do not make up your room daily or have facilities like a hotel... The room was very clean, however we were a little disturbed to find a condom wrapper under the bed! Staff were helpful and printed off my bus tickets when I asked them. Their english was a little poor though so be patient with them. It was a short walk to the tram and only a few stops to the Vieux Port (beautiful). There is not much around the hotel except a few seedy little shops and alot of construction. We paid $49 per night which we found to be fair.

First of all its wrong information that hotel located at Marseille city. Actually its located quite far away from Marseille - at the industrial country side La Valentine, where you'll not find any restaurant or even any bistro, just industrial properties and few hotels. The service at the hotel restaurant where we unfortunately decide to dine (as long were no any more restaurants around) was awful, so we paid hell of money and got bad mood. Reconstructions at the hotel were in progress, so impression about lobby was awful as well.

The hotel is within the Saint Charlies Train Station complex. Very convenient to get around Marseille with the public transportation (train, metro, bus) just a few minutes away. The hotel is within walking distance to the harbor. The room was clean and the room was enough space for a budget hotel. There is a paid parking space available. It was a little bit hard to find the hotel entrance because the sign is not very visible. We went around the St Charles Train Station block a couple of times before we found the IBIS sign board which entrance from the Rental Cars complex.

Enjoyable and relax..it's my first time here in Marseille, the hotel located in the heart of city so I could access to anywhere quite easily.

Location is excellent in which close to train and bus station, around 20 mins walk to the city center. Stayed for 3 nights and cooked every day, love the kitchen and it's very user friendly. Only picky thing was no hair dryer provided. Will definitely stay here again if I travel to Marseille. Helpful and sweet staff, thanks for making my stay fabulous ;)

It's not the most opulent of hotels but for the price, it's a little gem. Great breakfast too.

The staff. Aproachable and helpful, good security. The whole building is rustic, maybe door ,into the garden, needs replacement However adds to the charm. Small touches would help ,if garden and sunbeds were cleaned every day. Love staying there Marsaille ibis
