Oasi Azzurra Hotel Village
"We booked a 4 bed apartment in error with a kitchen in the second bedroom. We think this is better than a 2 bed apartment with the kitchen in the double bedroom.
We had a side sea view but were on the east of the building which meant we got almost no sun on our balcony, but did see the sunset.
There is no lift & we were on the 4th floor-77 steps up! We would have preferred a lower room & with sun on the balcony.
The restaurant had lots of sections & tables & is popular with locals at weekend. We ate there once but our meal was overpriced & nothing special, & service poor. This stopped us eating there again.
The home made ice cream is good.
We found some of the staff unfriendly & they need to take some lessons from the always polite & friendly Dangi, & the male reception staff who always remembered our names.
Nice fresh bedding, & nice, fluffy towels which were changed daily & the beds made up, & the apartment cleaned daily. Good pots, crockery, cutlery, gas hob, & fridge. Aircon in bedroom only.
Unfortunately, we had 1 noisy evening/night/morning with the arrival of a party of schoolchildren running up & down the stairs & from room to room, and climbing over balconies. Although we complained, there was still noise, & we heard them at 3 in the morning and again at 7 when we guess they were getting ready to leave.
It could be accepted that children will be children, but we felt they should have been in 1 section of the hotel where the teachers might keep better control.
On our last full day we had planned to enjoy the beach & good weather. Bad planning. There were workers on the beach installing a wooden platform, with hammers & power tools. I know it is work that needs to be done-but not when there are guests who have paid for a beach hotel.
I summarised my complaints to reception, & was provided with a voucher for a return stay. Not much good if we have no plans to return to Sicily. Although this was a good stay it could have been excellent-so disappointing."Show more
