African Oceans Manor on the Beach
Bay View,Mossel Bay - View on map
"I cannot speak too highly about our stay at African Oceans. The staff very excellent, so we'll trained and so very helpful. The accommodation was spotless and our room had everything that one would expect in a top class hotel.. Breakfast were excellent and any item required, if not in stock, was provided within a few hours. I would highly recommend African Oceans as a place to stay if visiting any where near Mossel Bay."

Protea Hotel by Marriott Mossel Bay
Mossel Bay Central,Mossel Bay - View on map
"I travel frequently and took up the Protea recommendation from a South African friend of mine - bottom line is i would recommend this to anyone in this area and are new to Mossel Bay. The proprietor JJ and Ronel do an amazing job with this venue. It starts with the reception and cascades through to their restaurant and bar area too. I was upgraded as a Marriott member to a larger room which didn’t hurt so grateful for that. Highlights I would add: Walk the local Main Street outside the hotel Visit the Kaai 4 restaurant outside the hotel grounds for authentic South African braai (you can walk) There is complimentary sherry upon reception Overall a winner for the area. Santos Express
Santos Bay,Mossel Bay - View on map
"The idea of staying on a classic old train next to the sea certainly attracted us. Such a great idea and so comfortable. At night the sounds of the sea brushing the shoreline, plus the clear morning sky early the day we stayed meant that we could see the International Space Station fly over, in all its glory, (we know it was coming and when) on one of its flights over South Africa. And then there was the breakfast ... amazing. It's a wonder we ever checked out to leave."

Mossel Bay is a harbor town with a strong tourist industry thanks to being on the Garden Route. A little of everything is provided here, from a paradise for shoppers to beaches with extreme adventures. The journey to Mossel Bay can be a splendid one when coming in along the Route. Travelers can also fly into George and take the final leg by road or rail.

As a harbor town, the vast majority of the action takes place along the coast. More than 60km of beach await the visitor here, and these beaches are teeming with activities, from simple strolls along the shore to surfing the waters. Whale watching is a popular attraction for this area, and the super-adventurous can take the chance to meet white sharks in the water. More laidback things to do while in Mossel Bay include visiting museums such as Dias Museum Complex and sites like the Cape St. Blaize Lighthouse built in 1864. The area is also big on wine, so lovers of the juice can certainly get their lips wet tasting some local brands.
