Traveling to Germany? Find Munich hotels

We booked this hotel last minute when we accidentally reached Munich Station instead of Fussen (we missed to alight at the correct station). The hotel is practically 3-min walk from Munchen (Munich) Central Station and you could not ask for more. Although we felt our lives where in danger as soon as we came out of the train station coz most of the people outside (well that was past 11PM) were drinking and there were patrol cars all over. That was normal- we were told. The manager asked our location and informed me that his colleague will fetch us, unfortunately we couldnt wait and just booked a cab to send us to the place which is just 200-m away. I regret. Breakfast was great (dining staff were all nice and professional) we had no expectations but the hotel made us happy at little cost (btw our breakfast was free for the whole stay thanks to the generous hotel manager)

Traveling from the United States to Germany for the first time after 38 years of marriage, we were excited but apprenhensive. We looked on line for many hotels, but continually came back to Hotel Erzgriesserei. We couldn't have been happier with this decision. We did not want a hotel that was by the main train station, we didn't want a hotel by Tourist Attractions. But we wanted one where we could have a 5 minute walk to catch the ubahn or sbahn and get to those attractions. The location of this hotel fit these requirements. This hotel was in a quiet neighborhood/corporate/business area, too which allowed us to have a quiet night sleep. All the men and women who are employees at this hotel were kind, helpful, welcoming and went out of their way to assure us a nice stay. Answered our questions, helped us with some directions and had a smile on their faces whenever we saw them. There is a nice restaurant on site, but it was rarely visited during our stay. The waitress was extremely nice on the one night we stopped to have a dessert and a glass of wine. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding. Served hot and fresh. Very clean glassware, chinaware, and linens. We found San Benno Italian Restaurant, which is right around the corner wonderful too. As well, there is a biergarten about a 10 minute easy walk from Hotel Erzgiesserei. The only reason we gave less than 5 stars on the facilities section is that we wished there would have been area to pick up a newspaper, bottled water, etc. Please note, the hotel is in the midst of refurbishing rooms. Ours was not one of the updated ones. However it was quite large and allowed us to get around comfortably inside. If you decide to stay tbere, and you need a walk in ahower, please request one. My wife and I had some trouble finding accommodations in Munich at first. Hotels and airbnbs are very expensive in Munich, but we were very fortunate to have found the King's Hotel First Class. It's very reasonably priced, a 10-15 minute walk from Old Town, and our room was spectacular. It was very clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. It had the feel of an alpine lodge, and it was one of the best parts of our trip to Munich!

The Eurostars Book Hotel is very new and has a very modern style. Rooms are not large but very comfortable and the sound insulations is excellent. The breakfast is great but showed the influence of the spanish owner/operator company as the choice of bread was disappointing, considering the diversity of german bread. The hotel is only 3 walking minutes from the Munich Central train station which makes it easy to go everywhere in Munich and beyond by public transport. The neighbourhood however has little to do with what you would expect of Munich, as you might think to be somewhere in the middle east and not in Germany.

The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from platform 28-30 of Munich HBF. You could take S1 from Munich HBF to the airport, which is a 40 minutes ride. Being next to Munich HBF allows guests easy access to anywhere in Munich, Germany or even train services to other European countries. Room size is huge with good buffet breakfast. WIFI connection is also strong in the room.

The hotel is conveniently located 5 mins walk to the Munich Main Train Station (Huftbahnhof). Apart from easy connections to nearby cities, you can also travel to Salzburg using the Full Day ‘Bayern’ Train Ticket for up to 5 persons including kids below 14. Plenty of takeaway food shops and supermarket (closes at 11pm)at basement level to get drinks and Asian takeaway stir fry. There is also Burger King and Macdonalds opened 24 hours. Shops are Open Everyday. Hotel has a small swimming pool which is free to use and sauna which costs €5. Choose the rooms with bathtub to soak after Long day of walking. Only thing for me is that they did not provide kettle and room noise insulation from the common corridor was poor. Also the pillows were too flat. Windows can open for ventilation and staff were friendly and professional. Offered 2 Breakfast options - continental €.9.50 and buffet €24 for adults and kids eat for free. Anyway extensive breakfast options available at the train station.

my wife and i very much enjoyed our stay in the hotel for two nights. the room is clean, spacious and modern. we do not have any complain overall. breakfast is very good and surprisingly they had live music (violin and guitar) so we did enjoy a great moment at the breakfast time. if we have to be picky, the only downside is the swimming pool is relatively small, but i think most hotels in munich do not even have a pool so it's not a big deal.

Located less than 3 km to center Munich. This hotel was very convenient to all of our needs. Three staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean and maintained. Breakfast was very good as well.

Its was amazing when I entered the hotel....its was so beautiful with classic decoration, the room is big,clean,elegant. And I love the breakfast very much, the service is good. If you have a car, you can have free parking infront of the hotel. I will re-book the hotel if I have a chance to Munich again.

Location: 5 mins walking from Munich main train station front door Food: Various restaurants and Fast chain food stores closed by. Room Comfort: Best as a 4-Star Hotel. Mini-bar free refill everyday during the time we stayed. Even the standard is very roomy. Room is very clean and the Housekeeping staff is very nice and responsible. Staff performace: Staff is friendly but do your own homework instead of just joinging the group tour they recommend.

room is clean but small, price i paid includes breakfast and free wifi defintely value for money. hotel is near u-bahn around 10 minutes walk, very convenience. hotel located on the small street, which is nice and quiet in the night. i will stay again next time travel to munich. breakfast were very delicious and good combination.

Spent at few Hotels in Munich however Schiller 5 Hotel was the best Hotel I have stayed in Munich. It's located right at Haufbahnhof Central Station walking distance. The Hotel had great design and I loved every Moring Breakfast. The Owner of the Hotel would come and say hello to all the hotel guest and serve Coffee and was very welcoming :) I visit Munich Twice a year and will only stay here at Schiller 5 Thumbs Up for Schiller 5

I arrived at midnight and the lady at reception was just lovely! Parking is a little of a nightmare in the area but she let me park right at the hotel doorstep and looked out for the police. The room was excellent! Everything was well thought through, the bed and pillows were super fluffy and comfortable. The room was huge as well. It’s such a quirky hotel and the staff were really friendly and nice. Gummy bears on the pillows were a really nice touch. I would stay there again when I go back to Munich.

Never thought that there is an inexpensive hotel in Munich. Arrived late in the afternoon and received extremely good service. Room was beautiful, espcialy the large bathroom with shower and full tub. Breakfast out of this world with a large selection of food.Will go to Munich at least twice next year and definetely stay at the Germania Hotel. I hope it will be available.

First of all, I went to series of Novotel hotels in different countries and all of them were very nice. Novotel Muenchen Messe Hotel Munich was very nice place to live in, as it was clean, very nice location, it has A/C (not all hotels got A/Cs in Germany!) and not that expensive. The room was very modern style, I loved it. As I said the location was very nice, the S-Bahn Train station was near it and a BIG shopping mall near it as well. It was simply one of the best hotels.

The neighbourhood was very quiet, which was great for sleeping both at night and preparing for a major time change by sleeping during the day. The reception was open until midnight, which was very convenient, and staff there were extremely nice and helpful. Our apartment was perfect, with pleasant decor, a nice bathroom with shower and full tub, very comfortable bed, small dining table and two chairs, and well-equipped kitchen, as well as a lovely view of the green courtyard. It was useful having an extra door between the living/bedroom and the hallway to keep out noise in the hallway. The building's location only 3 blocks from the subway/train station and steps to a bus, both of which have you downtown in less than 20 minutes (including walking/waiting times), was perfect. There are two great grocery stores within a 10-min walk (note stores in Munich close around 8 pm and are not open on Sundays.) The trip to the airport via public transport took 1.5 hours, not 49 minutes as Google Maps claimed because you have to factor in the time to get yourself oriented, buy tickets, get to the right track, etc.. Despite the cost, best to take a taxi if you have an early flight and make sure to get to the airport 3 hours early because getting between terminals and buildings especially with the inter-airport train down was extremely time-consuming. One tiny problem was that twice in the morning someone rang our phone or doorbell (not sure which). Reception told me it was probably someone in the hallway, and that does make sense because the doorbell does look almost exactly like the light switch. Management should probably put stickers on to distinguish them better, especially since the halls are dark unless you manually turn on the switch (which is great for the environment, but a little disorienting for foreigners used to there being lights on all the time in hallways.)

It was excellent stay in Munich for 3 days. Hotel location is perfect. Staff is very friendly and ready to help. Rooms are ok, don't expect something special, but everything is in the room and room is clean.

we had no problems checking in and founding our room, the front desk service was excellent and everybody was very helping with everything we needed. room service was fast and good, the restaurant has good food but a small menu, and the bar opens until 1am so we could catch a cup of wine before bed. the bathroom is somewhat small but very well equipped, the bed was great and comfortable. the only downside is that the hotel is about 45 minutes away from munich, our main destination, and the wifi wasn't complimentary which is something we're always looking for in hotels. besides these small issues we highly recommend this hotel.

The apartment was just as we had expected from the photos. It was great having a supermarket just underneath. The apartment was cleaned and the beds were changed during our stay. The beds were a little too soft, but apart from that there weren't any complaints. The underground station Trudering was about a 10minute walk and remember the shops are closed on Sundays. If you need a place to eat, head for Munich hauptbahnhof ! I would recommend this apartment.

Really clean hotel that's brilliantly located in the centre of Munich. The only con was that the heating in our room was broken and couldn't be fixed while we were there. The staff gave us free coffee and tea and extra duvets to compensate. Located beside lots of great bars and restaurants and close to Christmas Markets. The German Museum of technology is very close and worth a visit. Tip: you can get the S1 train directly from the airport to the hotel. It is a 3 minute walk from there to the hotel. Saves about €70+ on a taxi! They only run every 20 minutes though so make sure to plan your return to the airport and check there is no works on the line. Great hotel.

We had a fabulous time in Munich. Hotel was perfect, great location for travelling around the city and also it had all mod cons. Staff were very helpful, friendly and couldn't have done anymore for us. Breakfast was amazing, spoilt for choice. I would looting return again. Great Italian restaurant up the road too.

This hotel markets itself as an exclusive Munich hotel along with its sister hotel (which is nearby), the Koenigshof. But caveat emptor (buyer beware). While Koenigshof is indeed very nice (at least the lobby and spa facilities), Excelsior is at most a 3 and a half star hotel, probably just three. The breakfast room is nice and the food yummy. They have a nice bar and restaurant as well. This staff is professional and efficient. But the rooms are old and very simple. Unless you are a huge fan of "rustic simplicity" you will be disappointed and feel that for what the rooms are the hotel is overpriced. One bonus though: you get to use the sauna/spa of the Koenigshof for free if you stay here. The hotel is also very near the central train station

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pullman Munich Hotel. It is very easy to reach via underground from Marianplatz. The staff made check in very smooth and our room was very spacious, beautifully furnished and cool. The temperature in Munich was around 40 degrees so air con was much appreciated. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices to suit everyone. We will definitely stay here again.

Munich is very busy place, the hotel was very good and the food was very good also the staff are friendly the special thing about this hotel is the rooms, its big and confortable also many shops and resturants near to the hotel.

Aloft Munich leaves me a good memory in Munich ;) The location is great, just exactly across one road to Munich Hbf. Very chic and clean, room is spacious with modern design. Down from the street, there're quite a lot of restaurants, like German, Turkish or Italian cuisine or you can just lay back in the lobby of the hotel. Convenient choice, just 15-20 mins walk to Karlsplatz, then you can get every thing down from the street. And close to Bahnhof is one of the best selling point of Aloft, I can save much time when going out in the morning. Breakfast buffet, choice and the replenish time are less than expected, it can be improved. All staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend to stay at Aloft Munich. Wise choice!

We stayed here for 2 nights. Our room was on the 3rd floor and faced over the side street but we heard no noise from either inside or outside the hotel. We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel or use any of the facilities. Location was great - 2 minutes walk from train station in one direction, shops and restaurants in the other. We would definitely stay here again if in Munich.

Perfect for me. I know the outstanding Munich public transportation system well. With the public transpo everything in munich is just minutes away.

We certainly have mixed reviews about this hotel. We did not receive a warm check-in, and the lady who checked us in made no effort to share any of the hotel amenities with us, which prompted me to ask her. Even then, she gave only minimal info. Not an impressive start. The hotel room was definitely nice and spacious, though you would think that with the price we were paying the beds would be soft and comfortable. They were not. On our second full day there we were very dissatisfied that the pool/sauna/spa facilities were closed for cleaning and would not open until after 4 pm on the second day of the closing. We had booked this hotel with these facilities in mind, especially for our young daughter. So so disappointing! Explaining our disappointment to the manager, she quickly made amends by giving our daughter various toys - a watch, small stuffed animals, and games. This was a kind act, but made me wonder how often they had to do this to other families. I asked for a free breakfast initially, which she also gave to us. Later that evening, room service brought us a courtesy fruit basket, another tasteful apology. The breakfast the next day was a terrific buffet, but we heard it was pricey and so had not had it prior. Hotel was a good 20 minutes from the downtown Christkindlmarkt, but was a beautiful walk crossing over a pretty river. Hotel a 8 minute walk from metro, which we used from the Munich airport and back (costs about 10 Euro per person from/to airport). Overall, the hotel certainly "made it up to us," but we still missed out on using facilities that were totes to be a great part of the hotel. We are not sure if we would stay here again.

Most of all, thank you for helps and kindness while I stay. This place is very convenient to go to central station and touristic places. Staffs are very professional and helpful. And the price of hotel is very reasonable. And they have a good coffee on the ground level named California coffee bean. They will make the best coffee in Munich. I strongly recommand this place if u have kids as well. I stayed there with my 11old daughter and I feel safe and cozy there.

The Hilton Munich Park has a lot going for it, it’s in a fabulous location literally opposite the English gardens and so it’s easy to get to Schwabing. It’s not on the train line but it is directly on a tram route straight into the centre of the city. The facilities are fantastic, a couple of restaurants, a spa and gym pool, bicycle hire, and coffee bar. The staff are also great. The rooms are big, with all the amenities that you expect. The one thing I expect a hotel to get right is the bed. And the bed in this hotel was appalling. If you like sleeping on a brick with a second break for a pillow then you’re in for a treat. After an awful night I complained to the hotel staff who told me that these were Hilton standard mattresses around the world. They did get me a mattress topper and new pillows and although the bed was still very hard I did manage a reasonable night’s sleep. I’d stay here again but ask for a mattress topper in advance.
