This city is better than I expected and it has the combination of old and new things in one place. You can enjoy the scenery of the river with a marvellous city icon the millennium bridge or shop till you drop at the city centre.
Lovely city. Easy access to parts of the city by metro but most interesting places are within walking distance.
Newcastle is a vibrant city, steeped in history. There streets are littered with interesting architecture.
The centre has an extensive shopping mall, whilst the smaller streets have more unique shops. The entertainment day and night is suitable for both adults and children, with museums and the Centre of Life for the children, or catch a show at the theatre. Newcastle can also be used as a base to visit the wonderful north east countryside nearby.
Great place for seeing concerts at one of the major venues. Quayside very attractive with Sunday markets.
Short walk from the quayside is the city centre, great for some retail therapy. The surrounding countryside is outstanding particularly the Northumbrian Coast and Newcastle is a good base for exploring the area.
