The hotel is centrally placed for local amenities with wonderful views of the Atlantic and the Cornish coastline. A Victorian hotel built on a grand scale with wide staircases and large lounges which would allow plenty of room to spread on a wet and wild day. Newquay is well placed for visiting places of interest all over the county.

The hostel was located in a very good location overlooking the main bay of Newquay. The atmosphere was good however The bathroom was a little dirty and sink kept getting blocked. You also had to pay for security lockers which is a big negative.

Great Western Hotel Newquay 11-15 September 2017 We booked this hotel through Agoda after having researched online hotels in Newquay. We decided to stay in Newquay as it appeared to be the centre of all tourist activity in that part of Cornwall and as we had decided to travel from London by train. We selected this hotel due to its price, location (near railway station) and past reviews. We were allocated a unit on the 2nd floor which involved a lift and a corridor with 6 fire doors. We got used to these as time went by. The room was adequate, clean and serviced daily. The window overlooked the car park at the front of the hotel and the main street. Units overlooking the sea were more expensive. The staff were helpful and courteous at all times. We used the hotel dining room /bar for most of our meals and found the menu adequate for the days we were there. The Monday special “steak and a pint” was excellent value and very tender. We had breakfast in the hotel each morning with the choice of buffet or a la carte because it suited us. The bar and wait staff were excellent . The views from the dining room are beautiful. We would recommend this for travellers on a budget for up to 2 weeks.

Excellent place to stay, friendly host, really nice rooms and breakfasts. Right in centre of town was ideal place to explore Cornwall.

A lovely guest house in the heart of Newquay overlooking a harbour. The hostess Chris is warm, funny and welcoming; nothing is a problem for her! Comfy bed, great location, quiet despite being very central and super clean. Highly recommended!!!

Totally loved staying at this hotel. Big traditional hotel right next to the cliffs - we had a sea view and a gorgeous room. Loved the layout of the room- they had thought of everything re facilities. Great bathroom. Had a lovely pool too. Staff totally fab and theres even a hotel dog! Totally recommend.

A great little hotel close to the Newquay beach and town centre. Upon arrival, the host gave us an intro on how to get around Newquay. The reservation arrangements between the hotel and the third party wasn't efficient enough as I ended up with a standard double room upon arrival, having booked the one with a balcony on Agoda. Neither the hotel nor the reservation provider took responsibility for the miscommunication, although the provider later refunded the difference after a complaint was initiated. The room was very spacious and clean, but a bit noisy as it was next to the busy road. Parking provisions are limited. Great breakfast spread and amenities for recreation. Barring the reservation goof-up, everything else @ the hotel was great.

Lovely relaxed weekend. location near the beach just across the road. Not far to walk into Newquay. Staff was very friendly and helpful making our stay very pleasant. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

We booked on line and had good communications. The Staff on our arrival and during the stay were always courteous and friendly. The Hotel is well resourced and is situated in a commanding and strategic position for views of the sea and walks around the coast. We really enjoyed our stay and the new 'Massage or Knot' service offers a breath to the relaxing facilities and atmosphere that's available.

quiet, calm, friendly, lovely staff and dog friendly. The wild restaurant serves excellent, simple local ingredients with clever spices cooked to perfection. This is is a delightful hotel with a colourfull sense of style

Value for money guest house. I was made welcome on arrival. Free Wi-fi in bedrooms, Tea and coffee facilities in room, clean, quiet and comfortable room, great breakfast with excellent, cooked to order "full English breakfast" (Vegetarian choice also available). Close to Newquay bus station. A very good overall experience. Recommended.

Location was good, city centre was about 10 minutes walk away. Jayne and Andrew were really lovely, and we were welcomed with homemade scones once we arrived. The place is neat and clean, showers and beds very comfortable. Couldn't been better.

The room was tired, tv the size of a matchbox, no shower, edges of bathroom filthy, no breakfast in the hiked up price of room. Basic as basic can be. Not particularly impressed. Used it purely as a pit stop for one night and stayed in another place in Newquay for half the price and much better. Sorry Sandy Lodge Hotel, you need updating.

the room was lovely, the breakfast was great, the shower worked great as did the Wi-Fi really comfy bed too. add to this that the lady who owns this place is really a very nice person. she's very friendly and when I was leaving she was kind enough to give me a lift, you don't get that type of service at t star hotels
