"Impressive building both inside and out. Set menu dinner with choice of 3 main courses. Good breakfast. Very heavy bulky dining room chairs, not easy for the elderly to move. Avoid bedrooms over the bar area if you want to sleep before midnight. Singer every night in bar . Rooms at the front have beautiful view of Oban bay. "

"A comfortable and nicely designed boutique hotel in a prime location on Oban's waterfront. The property seems to have been recently refreshed and everything feels high quality and well cared for, and we were upgraded to a partial ocean view room which was lovely. The bathroom is pretty tiny, but very functional (and looking at the floorplan it seemed even the bigger rooms have small bathrooms), and the hotel was very cosy in the typically cold and wet Scottish weather. I felt the shared spaces were not up to the same standard as the rooms, however - the restaurant was comfortable but quite dark at breakfast time due to the window blinds being partly lowered, and the bar was very well stocked with a friendly bartender but too brightly lit and weirdly sterile and lacking in atmosphere."
