"Very nice........but, having the best facilities is only as good as the the privacy the accommodation can offer. We were able to hear the person in the next unit snore at night. We were in unit 4 which shares a "dry wall" with the next unit. It is such a pity because everything else is nearly perfect. "

The delightful receptionist made sure we were accommodated in a beautiful ground-floor room to suit my wife's limited mobility, the assistant manager was incredibly attentive and could not have done more to make our stay memorable. And the breakfasts, served on the terrace, overlokking Plettenberg Bay, were just the best!"

"I would certainly recommend the Mandalay . We stayed there for one night this week on our garden route trip. Erika gave us a lovely friendly welcome and lots of great recommendations about good places to eat and where to visit in Plettenburg. She even was kind enough to phone and book Kango cave tickets for us - nothing was too much trouble. The Mandalay is a delightful place with a beautiful garden and pool. Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Thank you Erika for making us feel completely at home. "

"The staff at this hotel are trying extremely hard to ensure the comfort of guests. Once we found it (not at all easy if you don't know the area), we were warmly welcomed. A car is essential as the hotel is some distance away from the town centre. Dinner on our first night was excellent, though not a cheap option, the homemade bread was divine. There is room for improvement in some areas - our TV did not work properly and the aircon was erratic, also the grounds could have been made more attractive. Overall we were comfortable and there was masses of room. Ask for a sea view."
