Traveling to North Macedonia? Find Skopje hotels

Thanks for everything from Valentine's hostel, great location and nice bed, feeling warm from owners. It was the best in Skopje for sure!

Besides the good location and brilliant price, the place had a really 'homely' atmosphere. The host really knows how to take care of his guests, so if you're up for a chat (and some raki) definitely go sit on the terrace after dark. I loved staying here and will come back if I ever go to Skopje again!

Clean, tidy, free tea and coffee, all the time, very friendly and helpful staff, going out of their way to assist be it from getting more milk, changing linen to helping find out how to get by train or bus to a distant destination, which are the best options, etc. I was here three nights last week, and have returned for another three nights now, and was made most welcome by each person on reception as they recognized me as they came on their shift. A real home away from home, and competitively priced to boot! It being a lull between shoulder- and high-season I have had a 4-bed dorm to myself - just lucky with my timing I suppose. Even so, the dorms are well designed to minimise light and luggage of others sharing with you (I did have one night with anther dorm-mate).

The Shanti Hostel is conveniently located, just 300 m from from the Skopje main bus and railway station and 100 m from the nearby bus stop. The hostel and particularly the bathroom were spotlessly clean and the staff was courteous and professional. Despite the outside temperature below freezing (in mid January), the owner was keeping on the fire in the central heating system almost all the night and rooms were properly heated. Although the hostel is located in a somewhat shabby (but still perfectly safe) neighborhood, it is well maintained and good value for money. Highly recommended for backpackers looking for a hostel close to the main train and bus station.

Hotel is clean and nice. Location is a bit far to walk to the bus station but still ok nearby the main road. The staff, Vaneesa is really nice, helpful and english speaking.

The hotel is ideally located between the city center and the train/bus station. However, it is in a rundown neighborhood. I would almost not call it a hotel. It was located in a courtyard that appeared to be a bunch of office rooms. The room was all glass walls, as you might find in shops or office complexes. (There were curtains over the windows) The lack of walls meant that the room was really hot during the day, cold at night, and we could hear everything going on outside. I would not suggest staying here during the winter time as I imagine the room would be freezing cold. For its price though, the room was a good value. The staff were very friendly.

The Hotel Kapistec was so good we stayed twice. The rooms are spotless and spacious. The staff were incredibly helpful and the location is only 10 minutes from the bus station and half an hour from the airport. Nearby are 4 or 5 excellent local eateries which we tried. Their breakfast was everything that we needed on a sunny outside deck. If and when we are back in Skopje we will definitely stay there again as it is excellent value for money.

We stayed in the motel Atika for 2 nights. Thee location is just perfect, as it is directly indide the old town full of restaurants, shops and cafés. The old market was literally behind the corner and it was also close to the fortress. The price is the lowest in the area and everything in the hotel is new. We can fully recommend it!!!

I was offered a room at another address, in a shared apartment. I didn't like being transfered like that to an isolated place with no real common area

This is actually part of the Opera Hotel. Nice small apartment. It was clean and comfortable. The internet did not work in the room. The staff are really nice. Breakfast was extra for €3 and was a good deal. All in all it was a great stay. The location was very close to the major downtown attractions.

A beautiful hotel at a stunning location. Staff are extremely friendly, and prices are ridiculously cheap. On the downside - no air-con in room, breakfast is a bit poor (cornflakes were dirty) and a super small car-park that's packed on a regular basis, which forces parking really far. Nevertheless - highly recommended! Had a great time.

If you go to Skopje, Please don't look further. Only book with Calla Bella Residence. I grantee you will be impress by their hospitality. Only suggestion to Calla Bella is please put your phone number on the web page and send to guest in advance. Next time I am coming to Skopje I am definitely staying with Calla Bella.

It is a great place to stay. One can see different architectural house styles of Macedonia/Balkans and it has a lovely position. Also there is a nice restaurant with very delicious fresh food. Staff is nice and communicative.

The hotel was nice and clean and not far from the city centre. The guy who runs the hotel was extremely nice and helpful and spoke very good English. It's also very close to a bakery that sells the best borek!

Its a 45 minute walk to centre which i enjoyed doing each day, as its a pleasant area ,staff very nice, room spacious and comfortable.. some minor points , first room shown stunk of smoke! second room lovely ,but shared terrace filthy , full ash trays and empty beer bottles, been there a while too.2 guys chain smoking in the small restaurant lobby area downstairs also on my first day there. Otherwise, thoroughly enjoyed it... there....

Great location - this place is really close to city center and bohemian street. The flat is bright and clean, however,AC was not working do we had three really hot days during our stay. Apart from that,everything was good.

The View inn was great, an amazing view over the city and the mountains both from our balcony and the restaurant. Great breakfast and nice staff. Location was not a problem for us, we walked down to the city approximately 20 minutes and then took a taxi back to the hotel 100 - 120 Denar. We will definitely return to the View Inn and Skopje. // Per

Room was cleaned w/ fridge & hot water boiler. 1min walk to Macedonia Gate & supermkt. Great location!

The apartment was modern, perfectly cleaned and in a great position, close to the center. Many thanks for Zlatko, who organised everything for us and who made our holiday perfect.

Beautiful hotel and the staffs arte very cooperative and friendly. They surprised us giving a souvenir as gift while we are checking out. It's fantastic experience for us.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Leonardo hotel. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to help you anit is in walking distance to the city center. Overall, very happy.

Great location - 200 meters from Skopje's best part, Old Bazaar; close to airport, bus stations and other attractions. Rooms are basic, but spacious and clean enough. Breakfast was very delicious, with wide choice of food and fruits. Restaurant staff were very attentive at all times and served fresh food. However, it's the hotel reception team who are the highlights of the place! They were always there to cater for each and every need and question I had to solve. All my requests were attended to very promptly. And they were super friendly and welcoming! Thank you, guys, for my amazing stay in this hotel and in Skopje! I surely recommend this Hotel to everyone.

Unless you are into hotel buffet breakfasts (oh why?!), taking an apartment is way better an option, in my opinion - for one, you have so more space! And this fine apartment -- with plenty of room, central location, along a pedestrian street (music from restaurants can be a bit loud though sometimes), half the price of a decent hotel, all the amenities you might ever need, etc. etc. -- is unbeatable. And then there's Vladimir - a kind, lovely person, whose warm welcome will make you feel right at home.

is very nice hotel. Staffs are friendly. The location is good, close to the city center, but a bit hard to find if you are not familiar to Skopje. The room is very clean and large enough and the hotel has an elevator. The breakfast is good too.

the hotel is ok, could use an "update". helpfull staff. room a little bit full with big pieces of furniture, modern bathroom. clean. breakfast was ok, enough to chose from.

We had 2 nights at Hotel Square, which as everyone else has said is brilliantly located. Our room was comfortable enough for a cheap hotel. There were some small irritations - the shower fitting fell off the wall, there was no plug for the basin, their laundry service hours weren't very accommodating (such that you really would have to stay there 3 nights to make use of it, allowing for their broad window of time to return your laundry) and the sheets were a bit too small for the bed which seems common for Eastern Europe and is really frustrating when there are two people fighting over one small square of cloth. But the staff were really lovely and let us do a late check out we were grateful for. The wifi worked really well too as did our air con (phew!).

The hotel and its rooms are really nice and the reception staff is also very kind and helpful. However, on a Sunday morning the cleaner entered at 8:30 the locked room without knocking... but not only that. She started cleaning the room before we checked out and continued when we got back from breakfast. It seemed that she wanted to kick us out, clean the room as early as possible and go home. Dear Hotel Manager! Please instruct your cleaners to knock 3 times and introduce themselves with a clear friendly "housekeeping" phrase. Breakfast was good but the waitress seemed unmotivated and didn't say good morning. Once they worked these things out, the hotel would be really really good!
