Swakopmund hotels & places to stay

one of the best hotels I've been to in Namibia! Bedroom, livingroom and toilet are luxuriously spacious, and well-furnished. Hot water with good pressure, and great view of the sea. Very well situated next to the beach and restaurants. Staff also very helpful. Will definitely stay here when I return to Swakopmund!

The Swakopmund hotel is my preferred hotel in Swakopmund, where I have visited more than 20 times in the last 3 years. My client generally makes my reservation, this time I did, through Agoda, and got a better rate! It is nice, clean, comfortable, with good facilities and location. The in-room Wi-Fi generally works very well, there was a slight glitch this time as they were changing over to a different system and the lack of availability took half a day to rectify. The 300g (10oz) Fillet steak with green pepper sauce I had was absolutely superb, so good I had it 2 nights in a row. I 'paraded' the chef to tell him so. And only US$12. The only problem with the hotel is that it is so popular with (mainly German/European) tourists that I sometimes cannot get in for the dates I want and have to use other hotels.

I simply wanted a decent place to stay for 2 nights over a weekend. The Agoda special price was a steal. The hotel is all as described in the review heading. There is no restaurant or bar, they are not needed because plenty of outside options nearby, and who patronizes hotel bars and restaurants anyway? That said, the breakfast was very good and plentiful. The rooms are spacious and have nice very touches with gowns, slippers, fridge, coffee station, toiletries, fridge and safe, along with a large flat screen tv with a mid-range satellite bouquet. Wifi I did not try but imagine that would be good as well. All in all, very satisfied and will use the hotel again

It's the only hotel by the water with a nice boardwalk with a great brewery and sushi place! If Swakopmund did not have great things to see, I would have just stayed in the hotel! The spa is also fantastic!

My husband and me spent two good nights at Beach Lodge. Because it was a rather short notice booking, we had to accept a standard room, as all the suites were fully booked. As a standard room, it pleasantly surprised us ! It had a lovely private balcony and the totally unspoilt views of the beach was utterly beautiful, both from the balcony and our bed alike ! The bathroom is rather small and basic, but was clean and provided in our needs. Because of an ugly and totally senseless courtcase as far as we can understand, the lodge was forced to close it's lovely and elegant restaurant on the 2nd floor. Fortunately it still serves breakfast ( and a very good one) to it's in-house guests. If the view from our 1st floor room and balcony was breathtaking, you can imagine what it is like from the restaurant, one floor higher !! Swakopmund offers enough restaurants to choose from and the lodge staff at the front-desk will gladly advise and do a booking for you. It is hard to believe that the lodge was fully booked while we were there. The absolute peace and tranquility was never disturbed in any way. Closer to "ON the beach", no lodge can be !!

We have used the Hansa on 4 occaisions now, and it remains one of our favourite hotels. Classic style, good old fashioned, polite service, but not over the top. Excellent food. If we return to Namibia we will be back.

This is an amazing place to stay if you plan on staying in the same place for a few days. Very central. Walking distance to the jetty and the town and restaurants. Coffee shops close by. The rooms are spotless with the best linen and extra luxuries. I would recommend this to a friend as well as stay here again.

I would say I was a little disappointed. Our first room was on the corner of a noisy street and I was a little nervous regarding the security aspect - there was no safe in the room and the windows had no burglar bars, etc. There was a massive water leak on the morning of day 2 and we were moved to another room - which had no view. Overall, although the hotel is in good shape and a good location in terms of walking to the beach/shops, etc., as a couple I was disappointed that we didn't have a nice ocean view and place to sit and relax in the room.

Liked the place and the location. They didn’t have my reservation in their system when I arrived and tried to charge me for a more expensive room. I had proof of my reservation on my phone and was able to get a room for the price I had booked after some convincing. The worst experience was when the staff called me a taxi back to Windhoek when I checked out of the hostel. The taxi they called was very sketchy, drove me alone to a nearby gas station and we waited 1.5 hours for the remaining 5 seats to fill up with other passengers. The other passengers included local women who told me it was very unsafe for me to be traveling that way as a solo female traveler. When I arrived in Windhoek someone stole my hiking boot that was tied to my backpack and asked 20 dollars for me to get it back. The women I was with helped me out but I recommend other travelers do not get a taxi through the hostel (local taxis to restaurants were fine) and book a professional shuttle service like Welwitschia.

I stayed only one night but due to friendly staff and convenient location. Super recommended!!

an affordable place to stay, a very friendly staff with cheap wifi rate and very near to the beach.

We liked it all. The rooms are very stylish and clean, bed is comfortable, most amazing were the owners, who are very friendly and helpful with recommendations/reservation/organization of restaurants and activities in Swakopmund and they also helped us a lot when we had problems with our car. Best place to stay in Swakobmund.

Great location (5 minutes walk from the centre of Swakopmund, quiet street, very clean and comfortable, very helpful and kind owner, excellent breakfasts!

From the reception at Cornerstone Guesthouse to checkout, this place is flawless. Brilliant views, easy location to all attractions and a high level of security. We've already booked next time.

This hotel is great to have a holidays in Swakopmund. The hotel is nice, big and clean rooms, and specially the staff is very attentive and flexible. We needed some help and they did everything we need.

It was a great time in Swakopmund. Easy to get from central of Swakop, staff are very friendly and bed is comfortable. We will definitely return to Meikes for next visit.

The location is really bad. It is far away from city center and you have to wait at least 30 mins for a taxi. And most drivers don;t know this place. There is no food/breakfast served and there is no restaurant nearby. If you want a breakfast, try your luck with a taxi. The room is clean but there is no other facilities in the hotel there is no public area for you to sit and you can only sit in your room The room is tiny and barely fit in a double bed. The internet connection is poor in the room and you dont have a public area to sit and use the wifi. One from desk guy is very helpful. But in early morning and late evening, there is nobody on the desk to help you out. House owner was not comfortable to see guests sitting in reception area. I feel more like an intruder than a guest during my stay and it is not pleasant. It is a relatively cheap hotel, but I highly recommend to pay extra to enjoy a decent hotel in city center.
