Traveling to Taiwan? Find Tainan hotels

I am a loyal SPG member, but due to the fact that there is no SPG hotels in Tainan, I chose Silks Place Tainan for my stay. And I am thoroughly impressed. From the front desk to the executive lounge check-in, staff attitude and thoughtfulness, room decor, comfort and cleanliness...all these were impeccable and may even outshine certain SPG hotels I have stayed in Taipei. The only qualm is that room service is only up to 10pm, and though the food is very good (beef noodles..yum!), the selection is very limited. Would be good to extend or have have some simple late night room service menu, and a wider selection will be nice. Overall, I think it is a very professional hotel!

Had more the feel of a business hotel but catered well for us leisure travellers. - e.g. free bike hire available. Of all the places that we stayed during our Taiwan trip, the staff here had the best grasp of English. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful though this could get a little overbearing. Very, very large room (though my understanding of suite is separate bedroom?), very clean and lovely spacious bathroom. Buffet breakfast had a very good selection and set us up for the day. Great location with wide range of restaurants within walking distance and the tourist shuttle bus stop, which visits all of the main sites in Tainan right outside. Would stay again.

Hotel receptionists are very friendly and nice to provide all information about tour in Tainan. Every time when the manager is at lobby he always stand in front of the elevator to invite us get in it , even more , when we leave our luggages due to it is not checking time , he got two bottles of water when he heard we thirsty. The room is spacious, clean and cozy. The location is convenient , it closes Tainan railway station in 10 mins walking distance. There is also a bus stop beside the hotel. The only two defect , one is the restroom at the second floor is not clean enough and toilet paper was used out but no supply , the other one is no parking lot .

We arrived in the hotel while a typhoon hit Taiwan. We didn't have a chance to enjoy the pool and garden within the hotel. They looked good, though. Service is wonderful. The hotel staff are willing to offer help anytime. The dinner buffet was excellent. Seafood was fresh and many dishes were served hot. The breakfast, however, was not so good. Some of them looked like from last meal. (I'm not sure.) The thing I didn't like most is this hotel didn't provide commute bus. We either could choose taxi or THSR Express operated by the government which goes around the whole Tainan city and takes an hour to the hotel. Taking a taxi, on the contrary, only takes half an hour.

Strongly agree with comment from Mr Tan earlier. My family and I had a short 3D2N stay at Kindness Hotel Tainan Chihkan Tower from 22 Mar 16 to 24 Mar 16 and this has to be one of the best Hotels in Taiwan we ever had! The Hotel is just about 5mins cab drive from Tainan Railway Train Station (~NT$100) and about 30mins cab drive from Tainan High Speed Railway Station (~NT$400). Amazed by the wide variety of food available for supper (even dan zai mian!) and also free snacks and drinks available 24hr (e.g. tea, coffee, ice cream). And most importantly, we felt welcomed and homely during our stay in Kindness! Their staff are very patient, helpful and polite! Would also like to take the opportunity to thank Mr Xu during our 2 nights stay. He has been extremely kind, helpful and even though we had approached him late at night for assistance, he has been smiley and very patient with us! He has offered several itineraries to us based on his knowledge and assisted us to make arrangement for transportation within a short notice. Next day he saw us, he has also asked for our feedback on our day trip. Excellent services, keep up the good work! Definitely will return and strongly recommend this Hotel to all!

We stayed 3 nights at Toong Mao. Loved our room with the view. The bed was nice and firm. The room was well kept throughout our stay. Very clean and huge bathroom. We had asked for assistance on a few occasions, including self-serve laundry room. The front desk was always very helpful and courteous. We got a room with a view of the canal. The continental breakfast was phenominal... The food ranged from salad bar to hot, cooked dishes - sausages and chinese breakfast items. We took advantage of the free 2 hour bike rental to do some sightseeing around the historical square of Tainan located across the canal. We would definitely stay at this hotel again when we go back to Tainan. Love this hotel!

If you're looking for a reasonable-priced hotel in Tainan, this should be a great choice. Not luxury, but comfortable enough space for a 4 person family. And it is located with a shopping mall and a cinema, so even if you didn't want to go out far for night market, you still have place to go at night.

I was in Taiwan for 16 nights, staying at 7 different hotel. The best hotel I love the most in Taiwan so far. New , modern design, great facilities, nice shower, best location, only the car park have to pay as hotel doesnt has own car park, but you can still get a great deal from Hotel. Walking distance to close by local food, night market, morning market. No matter day or night, you will found everything you want by walking distance. love the food map created by the hotel, but the most me and my family love were the customer service provided by the staff , xiao weng and xiao chen who working at the night shift. They will provide more than you asking on information of help which really impress us. they did a really good job on recommend and arranging my dad birthday dinner as it was weeked and everywhere fully book. We couldnt thank you them enough on their kindness and great hospitality. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all of my friend who coming to Tainan.

We stayed at UIJ for a night on our trip to Tainan. The hotel is in the centre of the city and is very close to many attractions (and food!). UIJ only just started this March but is already very well run. The room was beautifully decorated. We have a record player in our room and countless vinyl records to choose from at the reception. Still and sparkling water plus free re-fill! I thought it was a nice touch. All the toiletries were of the highest quality. Breakfast was standard, but I thought it was quite nice to have local food as an option. The greatest part of this hotel has to be its staff! All of them were being extremely friendly and helpful. The service was greater than many 5 star hotels! Very well done! An extremely impressive hotel. Will definitely stay there again next year when we do our annual visit to Tainan!

Big rooms, spacious rooms, parking lots. Parking pouch at hotel lobby for easy loading and unloading of luggages. Staffs are friendly. Assistance to bring my luggages to my room as I checked in early and room was not ready. Water dispenser is easy reach. Breakfast was great. Many food to choose from. Staff initiated to prepare eggs for us. There are also cakes to choose from. I will come back to this hotel again if I come Tainan. Have to drive as location is out of the town area.

Two days of accommodation in Nan Fun House Hotel, the staff offered their best to the traveller. Their whole hearted service warmed my heart. For example, the breakfast. Ｉtravelled alone. And they insisted giving me two breakfasts. One eating in and another going out. As for the room, Ｉhave to say the design was just perfect. And the BED, it was five stars! Wonderful! I definitely will come back when I visit Tainan.

We are very impressed by the service of this hotel! The receptionists are always so kind, friendly and helpful. It's one of the best hotel in Tainan I've ever stayed. It's very clean, and surprise with such well designed room! The breakfast is delicious with good food quality and reasonble variety. Free self laundry! Strongly recommend to travelers!!!

It's a hotel with Cartoon Network's cartoons as a theme. Although the theme dint reflects much inside the room, you can find the characters at the hotel entrance, reception, OUTDOOR playground, and in their cafe as well! The room is comfortable and spacious (King Comfort Room), and we are fortunate to have a room with a view of Tainan City. The only flaw that they have is that the room we stayed had their toilet floor not properly slanted to have the water drain off to the drain, as most of the time the water will flow out to the room if we wet the floor. However, my overall stay felt great and love its location! The hotel is located directly beside Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, Watson, and most importantly 2 streets away with local delicacies; Guohua street & Bao'an street. As well as it's neighbour, Landis Tayih Hotel, is one of the drop-off points for H31, shuttle bus from THSR Tainan Station. Super convenient!

It was my second time i stay at this hotel in Tainan. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel located just around 5 minutes walk from Chikan Lou and other attractions. Highly recommended.

Boutique hotel located in Tainan, 5 mins drive to reach Anping attractions. There are 7 of us stay in 2 huge rooms, each came with 2x king size beds and 2x individual bathrooms. Very clean and spacious. Easy to get around to surroundings with car. There's a large car park beside the hotel which is free of charge for hotel guests. Breakfast is provided with good selection of western and Chinese food.

Tainan Hotel is a four star hotel.In many aspects it's living up to those expectations. The reception staff are working very good. Always trying to help you. Some of them though don't speak English, but that's really not a problem since there are always someone else to help you. The breakfast buffet has a standard variety of Asian and Western dishes. Unfortunately they didn't succeed in keeping the food warm. So, if you like room-temperature hot dishes it is ok. The croisssants they kept in a warm box to keep them warm and fresh. The problem is that the bread was in there too long time so it was so dry, some days uneatable! The restaurant served a buffet dinner, which we didn't try, but seemed very popular among the locals. The restaurant was full every night which is a good sign. The room was good. Spacey with a desk and a small table with an armchair. Funny enough there was no safe in the room! So you have to keep your valuables at the frontoffice. And you didn't go there everyday with your laptop and your iPad. But, if you have to use your computer and wifi: forget this hotel They claim that they have wifi but 98 % of the time it just didn't work! We were lucky to get into another persons wifi (an open one!) in some evenings. I can't understand why a hotel in the year of 2013 can't have a working wifi! And this is a hotel that caters to business travelers! Our room was even called business room! The location of the hotel was great. That is their rescue. Two blocks away from the train station. The citybuses (with the touristic lines 88 and 99) just outside the hotel.

Though a little bit far from the central area of Tainan City, this hotel was pretty new and clean. Staff there were very kind and helpful. In addition, I had not expected too much on the breakfast served so I wasn't disappointed. Overall, the price of my room was very reasonable for the quality of this hotel.

Not necessarily a good fit for foreigners. Way way outside town and staff are generally friendly but not used to foreigners. It’s a motel for a more specific purpose and while the rooms are nicely done and the shower is great, impractical for most tourism purposes in Tainan.

Staffs were helpful and hotel is pretty near to chihkan tower. Journey to anping fort or tree house from the hotel is also about 15mins journey by cab. Rooms are clean but the hotel could seriously improve in their breakfast selection. As a Chinese, I would say that they serve great porridges but if you are someone that does not fancy porridge, then you are only left with bread, jam and salad. They even ran out of butter the day I was there.

The room we stayed in felt like sleeping in bathroom because there were no barriers between bedroom and toilet， wouldn't recommend this to family taking a trip

This is one of the best hotel in the city of Tainan, Taiwan. The facility is reasonably in good condition, and the service is great. I forgot some personal belongings, and the hotel was able to help sending it to our next stop. I recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Tainan. There is a department store across the street.

I was arranged to stay at the another building of their hotel instead of the origin hotel (check in reception), but it was just fine as it located opposite of the hotel only. Room and shower room was clean but desk area was a bit dusty. Staff was friendly and everything were just fine.

In general it’s very nice. Especially impressed with the sauna in the room. The lounge is very nice and staff there are perfect. The only thing is the gym doesn’t open until 900 which might be good to let guests start earlier then we can enjoy the day.

excellent stay in tainan, hotel was conveniently located (about 15 mins walk to huayuan and wusheng night markets, but hotel provides 1-way shuttle to the night markets), breakfast was decent, room was very spacious and all in all a very enjoyable stay. will definitely stay here again when i next visit tainan

The location of the hotel is close to various historical sites for your visit. The room is clean and the facilities in the room were simple but all you required for your daily needs are there. The staff are the main reason for the stay there as they are very friendly and helpful. They always try to assist you in whatever way they could, be it bringing me a bucket of ice, hailing of taxi and giving me directions and information on where are the possible places you could visit in Tainan. Will definitely go back if I am back in Tainan.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The room was quite spacious, modern, and comfy. I love the bluetooth mirror speaker, it is really a nice addition. Will definitely stay here if I come back to Tainan, and try their Beer Spa, it sounds wonderful! But the best thing about Beer Hotel is the staff members. They were really helpful, attentive, and caring. Every time they called a taxi for me, they went out to explain to the driver about where I wanted to go since I don't speak Mandarin. I really enjoyed staying there.

The hotel is a little hard to find down a small street, but our taxi had no problem getting there. Once found, it is easy to get walk to the main street and other nearby streets which are full of restaurants and other businesses. The hotel seems new. We really enjoyed the breakfast room, with a choice of three breakfasts -- chinese, american, and (we didn't try) vegetarian, plus some choice of bread/toast, fruit and fruit juice, and of course coffee. The room was very nice with a big bed and everything worked well. The window opens, and has screens. The hotel is a rather long but very feasible walking distance to many of the temples in Tainan, as well as to shopping and the train station. If not, taxis in Tainan are fairly cheap (as elsewhere in Taiwan), and the extremely helpful front desk staff was always happy to call them for us -- average wait for a taxi was 4 minutes, and the staff gave the taxi driver our destination so there was no confusion.

Stayed at the female dorm for two nights. - Good Location: 3-min walk to Tainan train station and to a street full of local foodies. - The hostel is very new and clean. Stylishly furnished common area and kitchen. Dorm room was big, with table and chair inside the dorm room. There were spaces to put things beside each dorm bed. Lockers are huge enough to put everything including the big backpack and suitcase in too. Wifi was fast and air con was adequate. The shared bathroom was clean and shampoo, soap and conditioner were provided. - Staff was helpful and kind. I had my room changed because the locker was not functioning. Even though breakfast was not included, there were a lot of budget options around the area or you can cook yourself in the kitchen. Considering everything and the low price, it's the best hostel I stayed at in Taiwan.

Very calm and comfortable hotel. We actually slept so much...it was relaxing. Breakfast was good. If you are looking for a quiet place that's close to An-ping then I highly recommend it.
