Hotel is 2 minutes walk from subway station and it is located above the wanhua station (train). It is new and everything in good condition. bed really comfortable. The staffs are helpful, polite and funny. The toilet is quite small. My knees almost touched the door when i sit down. I think we got more than what we paid, considering this is a new 4 stars hotel in Taipei

This being my 9th trip to Taiwan, I have stayed at a number of hotels from 5 star to 3 star. I would rank this as one of the best hotels I have stayed at in Taipei. I had orgininally booked for 3 days but ended up staying a total of 6 days. The location in excellent with the Ximen MRT station exit 5 just outside the hotel. The rooms are very modern and the bed is very comfortable. This is a new hotel and there are still some renovaitons in the lower level but nothing to be a hinderence at all to your stay. I have only some very small comments to make but once again nothing to be overly concerned by. The lip on the shower floor is quite low so the water does not drain away as quick so need to be careful of the water flowing over to the floor. While ther rooms are very spacious there is no where to put your luggage except on the floor maybe the room could have a stand that you can put your luggage on. The breakfast is delivered to your room from an external supplier. Not really to my liking as it was cold. I would have preffered maybe some pastries than the american style that was delivered.. My final comment and this is not a critisicm of this hotel but of most in taiwan. I would like to see an iron and ironing board in the rooms. Overall I must say I was very impressed with this hotel and the staff. I will definately be booking this hotel again on my next trip.

Hotel's location is probably one of the best in Taipei being situated above Taipei Main Station MRT and having its own dedicated exit (M6). Hotel is at the more expensive end of the range of Taipei hotels but I felt I achieved decent value for money all considering. Room for a couple was perfectly adequate, though did not appear as large as some photos I had seen in advertising. However this might have been due to the enormous bathroom taking a fair amount of the room space. I would neither describe the room as dated or modern, somewhere in between, but comfortable and always clean. Air conditioning was very good and quiet in operation. Breakfast was buffet style and comprehensive; I was very happy with it, the fruit juices were some of the best I have tasted. Staff need a special mention as they were consistently delightful, polite, friendly and always helpful (they could speak English though my partner can speak Chinese). Overall a very pleasant 8 day stay and I would visit again.

As the title says, everything here is good. At least for tourists. It is about 5-8mins by foot from Ximending and Beimen stations. If you are a late-night kind of person, you will like it here - right down the street you could easily find convenience stores as well as 24hrs MOS Burger! If you are into local street food, there are also 24hrs hawkers to fulfil your midnight cravings. As for the service, very friendly and helpful front desk staffs. Interior design is one of a kind - modern and pleasant. As it is still new, everything is in order, and most importantly, clean. I hope that the cleanliness could be maintained even when the facilities get older. Only thing is that it is a little pricey (but hotels in Taipei are generally on the expensive side), and that there are no windows in the room.

I have to say I am in love with the big windows it has in all the rooms. As you may notice, a lot of the Taipei hotels do not have windows in their room yet this one you can enjoy a great view of the busy Taipei. Besides, they have an iPad that allows you to control everything in the room with an app. Though you don't see the usual smart/butt-washing toilet but you get the smart lighting in your shower area in return. All in all, it's a nicely designed hotel which is also a good value for money. An obvious choice in the Taipei Station area.

we stayed at united hotel taipei early may 2012. it is a good clean hotel with very good service. airport bus, fay gou, flying dog, stops in front of this hotel, not an official stop, but will stop here by request. we did not know it, paid nt$1250=us$43 for taxi ride from airport, bus would've been much more roomy, comfortable, good view and far cheaper. taxi to airport is nt$1000. well trained polite and professional staff, unload and delivered luggage, opened the door or held elevators for guests, many are always there to assit. big clean room, about double size of average hotel rooms, clear modern designs from decades ago but stood the test of time and well maintained. unusual huge bed, biggest i have seen anywhere, much wider. very big white marble bathroom with very powerful shower. large free breakfast spread with complete chinese, japanese and western selections. free good speed wifi in room. 24 hrs coffee and tea in lobby. short wait for elevators, takes under a minute to get taxi upfront. subway around the corner with 3-5 minutes walk. 7-11 and starbuck few doors down. many city bus stops in front or around the corner. many restaurants, shops and banks next to hotel, but not in the center of hot shopping area which is about 15 minutes walk away. big construction of stadium across the street, loud noise started at 8am, not a problem for us, as we spent hours watching the construction work. our room face the front with a clear view of the 101 building and the mountains. excellent hotel in taipei.

I have stayed at the Sherwood many times and it never disappoints. This is one of the older 5 star hotels in Taipei but still offers great value for money and the location is very convenient, the Zhongshan junior high school mrt station is at a walking distance and there are lot of restaurants and bars nearby. The staff and service is excellent, very friendly and helpful. The Toscana restaurant offers some great Italian food options., if one wants to stay in a five star hotel in Taipei at a reasonable rate then the Sherwood is perfect.

I think that was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed, on the price I paid. Staff were very friendly, including the bellboy, the front desk staff and the housekeeping staff. Only the restaurant staff may need to have more smiles on their faces, but they were quick in clearing used plates and cups etc though. Room was very well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. It was well equipped and the housekeeping was very good, cleaning our room and replenished used items without any issue everyday. The only issue may be that the lighting was not sufficiently bright. Another thing I wish to suggest is that since it was a room for 4pax, more privacy could be done for the bathroom and toilet. The hotel has a small but nice gym with a coin operated laundry next to it. On the lobby of every floor it has a display screen showing trailers of movies besides advertisement. Breakfast was reasonable with sufficient variety for us. Only suggestion was that the egg could have been changed between omelet, fry eggs and scramble egg. Location wise, nothing to complain as it was just next to an MRT station with plenty of taxis waiting in front of the hotel. Ximending shopping zone is just next to it and the famous Red House is just across the road. Just to highlight that, as for most of the hotels in Taipei, the hotel does not have a parking area neither a covered front porch. You will have to prepare your own umbrella to get out of your car if it is raining. But the hotel provides umbrella if you want to get out of the hotel though. As your car will have to stop at the roadside which is about 30feet from the hotel main door, you will have to prepare to carry your luggage as the bellboy only wait in the hotel main door. Alternatively you run into the hotel to call the bellboy out to help. Overall, I love the hotel and it is highly recommended.l.

Very good location, just 5 mins to Ximen MRT through covered underpass, good for rainy weather. Ximen station is just one stop from Taipei main station, a transport hub in Taipei. Hotel lobby is linked to a 7eleven store on the ground floor - very convenient if need some toiletries, drinks or snacks at night. Cross the road, there's Ximending and eateries like MOS, plenty of food options. Hotel breakfast has good spread. My triple room was spacious and comfortable. Wash basin, toilet and shower were separated, so three persons could use them at the same time. Housekeeping was responsive to requests for special pillows chosen from pillow menu - FOC. TV had major international channels. Only that our room faced the busy road junction and the sound of traffic was audible at times. Did not need to use room access card to take lifts to rooms; I was a bit concerned about security but this might be an unneccesary worry as the area in which hotel is located is really safe.

i truely enjoyed staying at palais de chine! i have stayed 5 star hotels in taipei,however palais de chine was way better! great location makes it easier to access to any places in taipei. staffs were very friendly and helpful. they recognized the staying guests and try to assist you as much as possible. hotel decor was great as well. usually hotels are very bright, but palais de chine was very dark. i enjoyed this unique atomosphere. room was the best! i especially liked the bath tub. it was huge! and decor of the room was nothing like other hotels. i actually enjoyed the time staying in my room the most during my taipei trip! plais de chine is recommended for couples or single traveler!

Hotel is wonderful, much better than any other 5 star hotels in Taipei. Staff is amazing (esp lady Rudy&Ruby). We got complimentary early check in at 12pm, and even never requested for it, room on the high floor with very good view, super comfortable bed - even after check out we purchased their bed clothing at very reasonable price. Our trip was more than one week ago but we are still excited of it. Thank you Grand Hyatt.

this is a very new hotel in taipei which i happened to find it for my 4 days work visit to taipei last week. first, it is in a very good location of the city. sogo, breeze, da-an mrt station and many other restaurants just within walking distance. the staff is quite good in english and thus very helpful to us. the restaurant on the ground floor is exceptionally international acceptable. normally, food at breakfast in 4 stars hotel in taipei has strange taste for many westerners. nevertheless, the room is quite small, perhaps it is because of the rocky high real estate price in taipei. the bed is small but soft, the restroom is interestingly equipped with electronic toilet resembling that of a busy district hotel in tokyo. one more good thing about the hotel is free wifi which is very convenient for us business people. last time, i had to pay about 60 dollars a day for use of wifi in far eastern taipei!

Visited in Oct 2019. Hotel has the bare minimum (no pool, no gym) I need for my trip which mostly revolves travelling out to other areas in Taipei. + Toilet has a bidet + Both a shower and tub is present + TV channels were from a TV box and were more than adequate. + Hotel and rooms have a modern design + Attentive staff who replaced the shower and soap when we're almost done with it + Halloween decorations + blood (tomato) juice available at reception Conveniently located near Banqiao station which has 3 main lines - HSR, TRA and Taipei Metro. Makes it easy to get to airport via HSR (+1 transfer onto the Airport Line) and to Taipei Main Station. Located on the Blue Taipei Metro line, Ximen is just a few stops away. Breakfast is not an issue as there is a shop that sells cheap traditional Taiwanese breakfast right opposite the hotel. 2 Family Marts located beside the Hotel and a larger one located in Banqiao station which sells all the souvenir that you need (e.g. ChiaTe)

The hotel locates in the walking distance area (z10 exit) from Taipei Main Station that is very convenient to access to many places around Taipei and near city. The staffs are very friendly. The best example of us was we would like to extend our stay on Sunday night because our flight time would be at 6 am on Monday morning, but this hotel was fully reserved. The staff at the front, however, managed to make a reservation in the hotel near by with the same rate and quality. Not only that, she listened to our opinion and took us to that hotel to inspect the room. And she helped us to process a room reservation there (since we couldn't speak or understand any Chinese) with special requests (to be assured that our room in this hotel would be exactly similar to the room in Diary of Taipei Hotel we have stayed). This was a great service mind that we have never experienced from any other hotels before. The hotel facilities were very good. There were free soft drinks, water, coffee, tea and ice serving 24 hours in the dining area so if you bring the bottle of water or ice container, it would be convenient for your long journey whole day. The laundry machine and dryer were provided free of charge (with free detergent). The breakfast was served in variety, but only one comment is the dining area is too small so it was mostly crowded during breakfast time (after 8.30 am). The room wall was thin and no sound-proof. You were able to hear snoring noise from the room next door easily and also if some people were talking along the walkway in front of the room. Room amenities were great. There were USB port and some electrical sockets at the desk and the bed table. Shampoo and shower gel were both supplied in the shower room with nice smell. The toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving blade, etc were provided daily. Overall, we were super satisfied our stay in this hotel and would definitely stay here again in the future visit.

We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel. The hotel provided unlimited drinks at their entrance, restaurant and gym/ laundry area at the top floor. These 3 areas are open 24 hours and we could have our drinks at any time. The hotel also provided free usage of their washing machines and dryers. The hotel is located within walking distance to the Taipei Main Station (about 6 minutes walk) and Ximending (about 8 minutes walk). The room was clean and size was ok for 2 luggages. Staff at the reception were friendly and provided the necessary information whenever we needed assistance. It was also convenient for us to roll our luggages to the Taipei Main Station where we took the express train to the airport. Highly recommended hotel in Taipei.

I have to say that, this, by far one of the most affordable and most convenient hotel in Taipei. It is walking distance from train stations, hawkers area are all nearby and their lobby is very homey. All their staffs are very accommodating. Even though we don’t know how to speak in Chinese, they try their best to explain or answer our questions. KUDOS to this hotel and their employees.

This is a budget hotel located in Ximen area. The hotel lobby is situated at the first level. Breakfast is included, and is served at the lobby area. To get to the rooms level, you have to tap your room card on a censor in the lift to reach the floor. This give added feeling of security. The room is big, in fact it is the biggest out of the three hotel that I stayed. However, the room has no windows. The bathing area is a semi-walled up area, which you can feel up, sit by it, and bath using a small heart shaped container, reminiscent of a japanese sauna. Free wifi is available, and signal strength is strong. Staffs are very friendly and polite. If you are going out of town, and will not be back for a night or two, you can choose to check-out, and deposit your luggage with them. In fact, they seem a little over-zealous in helping me look after my luggage. Luggages are kept at the hotel lobby out in plain sight though. However, it is next to the staff counter, and is monitored by CCTV. Take a right turn outside the hotel, and a right into a back alley, and you will find some nice snacks. One of my favourite is the Kebab stall right at the entrance of the alley. For 55 TWD you get a bun stuffed with ample barbequed chicken, tomato, and cheese. We were a party of five (family) wanting to experience celebrating new year in another country. We chose taipei and booked our holiday with Diary of Ximen. Stayed a total of 6 days & 5 nights in their family room. Since we were arriving at an irregular time and our flight back was just as irregular, we also arranged for airport pick-up service. Because of its location and price would highly recommend diary of ximen. They’re about 50m away from the Ximending pedestrian area and about 300m from Ximen station. They also have the most helpful staff. While conversing in english could be challenging in most of Taipei, hotel staff do the best they can to help. Special mention & thanks to Harry who was very pleasant to transact with and quite patient with all our inquiries. Their 24hr hot & cold drinks station is unique and quite helpful for tired tourists like us. One thing they can improve on is their breakfast fare. It could use a few more western items other than french fries and toast.

I love my stay at The Okura Prestige Taipei Hotel. It's a brand new hotel with excellent customer service. We stayed in an Okura Double Room. Great value for money with the room luxuriously confortable and equipped. Located very centrally and very near to the Zhongshan MRT Station, it makes travelling around all the tourist attractions within Taipei City an ease. The size of the room is big and very spacious. The essential needs like the shower & WC are pretty High Tech & excellent quality. Definitely will stay there again in my next visit to Taipei and I highly recommend this hotel for first timers to Taipei or anyone looking for a great hotel within Taipei City near centrally located MRT Station.

A very good hotel, but feels a little too cold in my opinion due to its 'Ikea-like' deco style. Everything from check-in to the room has nothing to fault. Bed is comfortable, faucets works well (no bath tub), for a modern 4-star hotel in Taipei, the lack of electric toilet seat is surprising. Breakfast bar is above average compare to other Taipei hotel, while there appears to be many items, each of the selection is not so tasty and nothing memorable. Fruit is limited to 1 selection most of my stays.

We traveled as a family with 2 young adults children. Booked 2 different size room , the standard double bed room is kinda small . My kids' room was bigger and more spacious so you need to look at the size of the room when you booked if space is priority to you. But for us if was ok as we used the room to rest and sleep only. The rooms and bathroom are very clean but the towels are rather worn. I love the location as it is in the smack of the pedestrian shopping area of Ximending. I just have to come to the main door and shopping is just there. As my intention for my last 2 days in Taipei is only to shop. We are surrounded by shops, restaurants and cafes. Which is great. The staff are very helpful and polite and you can leave your luggage with them if your flight is later in the day. One thing though, as its along the pedestrian shopping area, your transport cannot drop off at the entrance of the hotel during the peak hours. Just its just a short walk to the main road.

Location is 10/10. Right smack in the middle of Ximending. The moment you go down, you can start eating and shopping. Like most hotels in taipei, they do not serve breakfast, but what they do have is a 24/7 mini bar available for all guests. The mini bar is rather extensive and they also have tea leave eggs in the morning and cup noodles at night. Room is rather spacious and I love the bath tub! There’s also a back massager available in the room for use. I don’t understand why some people said the room is small? Their staff is the highlight in this review. I gotta commend them for being extra helpful. It was raining when we checked out and we had to walk to ximen exit 6. Seeing that we do not have umbrellas and were carrying a lot, they offered us umbrellas and walked with us and even offered to help me carry some of my stuff to lighten the burden. Thank you so much for the hospitality! I’ll definitely be back.

Though 5 star hotel, it is reasonable price, but staff are worthy of 5 stars, very courteous and kind. Rooms are clean, relaxing with high ceiling, dignified corridor. Breakfast was delicious while we could enjoy beautiful Asian garden. Especially I like breads and pan cakes in this hotel. This time, we experienced flight cancel due to typhoon and had been in troubled for contacting with airline company, and the staff was willingly trying to understand what I wanted to say from my poor English , though the reception counter was busy, she made every effort to support me, which was very impressive and I really appreciate her. It is a little from from Taipei station, but it is no inconvenient if taking a taxi ( taxi fare is low in Taiwan). Rather, a little far from busy street, we were able to stay comfortably, calmly. I think this hotel is reliable and good enough to stay repeatedly.

Just came back from Taiwan and i have to say the hotel is one of the best we has stayed so far. Its super child friendly (play room is right next door) and spacious... there are lots of entertainment games at the ground floor with free flow of cup noodle... Location is good too.. right opp Ximending.. lots of foods ard .. will book this again if going taipei.. strongly recommend

By far this is the BEST Hotel I have ever stayed in Taipei ! Perhaps even one of the best I have ever stayed in all my travel, period. Excellent room conditions and a great concept & designed lobby. The most impressive thing about this hotel is their staff friendliness and service. From front desk to concierge to restaurant to the lobby café, they were all Excellent and Awesome ! Special mention for the front desk staff for being extremely helpful and friendly. I will definitely return to stay in this hotel again. Highly recommended and rated !

Deluxe King Bed Review We are a family of three, staying for 4 nights in May. In summary, it has been one of the best stays we ever had anywhere. Location: it is located in between two subway stops: Songjiang Nanjing and Nanjing Fuxing. Nanjing Fuxing is a transfer station so it is very convenient. I heard from other reviews saying that it is quite a walk, but for us it is great. We are used to long walks anyway and we could easily find buses there, too. We are fast walkers so it takes just about 5 minutes so location didnt bother us. Plus there are lots of convenient stores nearby and small eateries in the alleys. There're also some Japanese fast food restaurants. Service: our check in was fast and efficient. Many of the staff speak decent English so we had no problem communicating. We had free breakfast and it was great: we ate there 4 times and except for the scrambled eggs, beverages and cereal corner, all of the menus were different day by day. Note: there were 8 different main food to choose from. Dimsum and bao were also available. Room: We requested a room on the high floor and in the corner because we have a toddler and these requests were given so we were happy. We had windows on two sides of the room and we could even see the Taipei 101 from the distance. The city view was great, overlooking the main street and not back alley. We had a king size bed so it was huge. The bathroom was wide, a bathtub and a shower. Rooms have all amenities: closet, slippers, mini bar, deposit box, water kettle, hair dryer, and they replenished the mineral water everyday. Even if you didnt finish them, they would give two more for free. We never ran out of water when we stayed. The room was wide and our toddler loved it. Overall a very nice hotel, we would recommend this hotel to anyone and we would love to stay here again.

The Cosmos probably has the best location of any hotel in Taipei, adjacent to Taipei Main Station. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, with check-in and check-out very quick and painless. The triple family room was super clean, with the best beds ever. The room was made up promptly each morning. The room recommendation I would make is to have electrical outlets nearer to the beds so one could charge devices while using them in the beds. The breakfast buffet was adequate, but not spectacular. Overall I would highly recommend the Cosmos, and will surely stay there again when in Taipei.
