"For a short stay in Taunton this hotel is a good choice. Situated a walkable distance from the town centre and close to the bus station the location is most convenient. The rooms are small, I stayed in a room one level up from the 'compact rooms' and it was just about big enough although well equipped with a fridge, fast and free internet, shower over bath tub and comfortable bed. The staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. Cosy well stocked bar, excellent breakfast and good dinner choices. There is a car park to the rear which becomes busy at weekends."

"The hotel itself is beautiful and in a great location in the middle of Taunton. However, the rooms are very average and I would probably rate the hotel as a good 3-star rather than a 4-star. We only had breakfast at the hotel, which had a good selection, but the hot food was the average buffet style that is only warm! For the money, I felt it is very poor value and there is an additional charge of £5 per night for car parking. However, there does not seem to be a lot of other options for this standard of hotel in the centre Taunton. "
