Best hotels & accommodations in Taveuni

This place is everything and more than what we imagined. The staff, the food, the island!! While it took me a day or two to adjust to the no tv/radio and limited internet by the end of our time at Qamea I was wishing we were there longer. Now at home I find myself wondering what the team at Qamea are doing today...and am already looking to book our next trip.

We had a great time at Sau Bay! Stayed for a week, and dove for 4 days. The diving is amazing - very beautiful, healthy, colorful and plentiful! Carl was great as divemaster, very helpful above and below the surface. Rainbow reef is about 25 minutes from Sau Bay. People who stayed and dove other places told us they had the best experience here, both for accommodat...

We've just returned from a wonderful week at Taveuni Island Resort and Spa. This is a small boutique resort, yet Ric and Do have managed to retain a real family feel. Their grandson Richard and three dobermans add wonderfully to the atmosphere. While food options are limited (as is normal on remote island resorts in Fiji) every single meal was really tasty. The bonu...

The place is awesome! Close to the beach and the most affordable accomodation on the beautiful island of taveuni. The room (8 bed dorm) was really big and had one bathroom to share. The staff is super friendly and goes out of their way to help you. They are really lovely people. I especially liked the kava evening, I learned so much about Fiji and the traditions from ...

This was our first time in Fiji (with my brother). Upon arrival to Taveuni, we were told that the bridge we needed to cross in order to get to Garden Island Resort had collapsed! An over-weight truck apparently was the cause. Once we arrived to the bridge by taxi, we saw that all this was true. Wow, what a sight that was! The truck and the bridge was in the river below...

We stayed for 5 days for our honeymoon and it was way more than enough. The island is beautiful and the waters are serene but it just wasn’t worth the travel for us. A RT flight from Nadi and just the 20 min boat ride and a car ride to get to this remote island for nearly $400US is a bit outrageous for the amount of money you’re spending to stay on this property. Eve...

We absolute loved our 1 week stay. The staff are fanfastic and the beach villa with 2 separate rooms + small kitchen/living area was ideal for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. We chose the resort for its proximity to rainbow reef +white wall and the dive sites were amazing! Diving was organized through the hotel with Taveuni Ocean sports. Julie and her team were great. The wh...

Ten reasons why Aroha is the perfect place: 1. The location is really on the beach front and every morning the view took my breath away 2. Aroha is well positioned for you to visit the two waterfalls and the Natural water slides. A good base to explore various parts of Taveuni 3. For scuba divers, when the tide is right the Taveuni dive operator will pick you up in f...

Taveuni Dive resort is really set up well for divers of all categories including beginners like me. The staff are world class instructors but are very patient and thorough. Safety is at the top of their priorities. Also they have a fleet of boats which take just minutes to get to some of the top diving locations in the world. You can also snorkel right off the beach. ...

Great food, deserted island yet close enough to main island (15-20mins boat ride), nice place for stargazing, lots of animal to take picture of (tropical birds including parrots, frogs, crabs, lizard if you walk around the island. Amazing beach... and some area for snorkle at the outer reef.

We, a group of three travelers, stayed 6 nights at the Maqai Eco Resort. Its located on Qamea, a little island off the Taveuni coast. The resort is pretty, basic and directly located on the beach. The staff is extraordinarily friendly and helpful, the food was excellent. Unfortunately, snorkeling wasn't too good since we had strong currents and cyclone Winston devastat...

We had a great stay at Dolphin bay Divers Matei. Extremely accessible from airport, about a 2 minute walk. There are 3 flights a day that come in and noise is not an issue at all. We actually checked in for our flight back and then walked back to Dolphin Bay Matei to just chat w/ Robert (the owner). Once the plane flew in overhead, we walked back to the airport and...

Lucy, lala, and all the staff were amazing! My wife and I felt right at home and welcome to the makaira family. The homemade breakfast each morning overlooking the ocean was the best way to start the day. Beware there is a water shortage so showering at night can be difficult, but out of makaira's control. Captain John is also the man when it comes to fishing. Awesom...

Ants in the bed, no water in the tub, low pressure water in the bath. I couldn’t find the staff to tell them my problems. Insects and gekkos around the place, and it was hot at night. No A/C, only one fan for all rooms. I wouldn’t stay there again. It’s in the deep of the garden, you will need to walk to the ocean/restaurant/everywhere you need for at least 10-15 minut...
