Britains finest small city. Similar to Norwich. Lovely old buildings and a fine Victorian cathedral. Many tea shops, cafes, restaurants, gppd bookstores, and small shops.
The Royal Cornwall Museum is a stand out, with a superb attached cafe. Best cappucino I have had. (Sorry St*rbucks). A lot of character, quaint alleyways, hidden gems - a sweetshop selling from jars just across from the Cathedral for example - a feel good city. Excellent place to make as a base for exploring the rest of Cornwall. Hertz located their rental facility in the suburbs next the the train station, which was very helpful - low traffic area, few pedestrians. The pedestrianized Market Square in central Truro is an excellent place to spend time chilling with a multitude of cafes and bistros and the big box stores are there (Debenhams and Marks & Spencer), also the Truro Theater is across the square.
