The Hotel Amman Bungalows is really one of the best in its own categories. Everyone do all for became your holiday comfortble. Manager Arshad - very kind and attentive person, you don't need to find someone for solutions of questions - he find you himself and every day asks how are you, do you have any problems and so on. The Chef in gril restorant - is the King of cooking. The beach - is really paradise. We are recomending this hotel in ratio price=service for rest on Zanzibar! Hakuna Matata.

Beautifully refurbished as seen on the official picture. Private pool for the villa with sea view in front of it is the best part of the staying with the. The design of the main swimming is very smart in terms of the style and the practicality. For dinner, A La Carte and Buffet menu are both is available, and they are both excellent. It is just not any ordinary hotel food. They are just as good as any top restaurants. The services is good as expected for a five start hotel. Undoubtedly the beach for the location is not the best one in Zanzibar, but for someone who is looking for a beach view with the opportunity to see the sunset, with a lovely swimming pool, a quiet and exclusive atmosphere, top up with a excellent food, this maybe a hotel for those.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location of the hotel is probably the best in Zanzibar: the ocean is good to swim, the beach is picturesque. We liked the hotel area and service, the staff members were very friendly and helpful. Meals were a bit pricey, but there are many dining places within 5-minutes walk by the beach.

I was extremely impressed with the 3 nights I spent at the Zanzibar Grand Palace. The room was excellent with good facilities and very comfortable. The hotel is fantastically designed and the rooftop restaurant is a wonderful spot. The location is great being close to both Forodhani Gardens and Darajani Markets but being very peaceful and quiet. I had a wonderful stay here and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a reasonably-priced, clean hotel in a good location with exceptional staff and a wonderful design.

We were very happy and the staff made us welcome, but the food variety is not so great apart from the Gala dinner and the Zanzibar dinner. The breakfast variety on milk and cereal was very limited. they ran out of skimmed milk as well as all bran flakes. they need to improve on their display of food especially breakfast and tea. the eats for morning and afternoon teas were mostly pastry and sandwiches leftovers from breakfast.

Just returned on 1st September 2018. Had very relaxed break for 10 days. Very quiet holiday and feel so relaxed. Great venue with unspoilt surroundings. Access from airport 1hr To main town and shopping 1hr. No local shops. No local Restaurants Great place to relax, very quite. Provides excursions for those choosing to explore or for diving. Food was very good quality and ample portions. Great pool area. Small beach area. Coast can be explored at low tide as water recedes past reef. Cycles avavailble for local exploring and visiting local villages and beaches (within 5km). Excellent staff. Very clean rooms.

Breakfast here is awesome!!! Also near the Zanzibar ferry and about 5-10 min from night food market - great location.

Dream of Zanzibar is a beautiful resort. The resort is very well laid out with a range of accomodation options to suit the travellers requirements. Rooms are clean, tidy and cosy. The staff are incredibly helpful, very professional and very friendly. Wi-Fi is very reliable. Although you may need to reconnect every 24hrs. DOZ is set against a backdrop of beautiful white sands beach. You can walk approximately 100-300m into the ocean on a low tide day to see a range of marine life. Note that it is advisable to go with a guide and with beach sandals as there will be a number of prickly sea urchins out in the ocean. Overall a fabulous stay and will not hesitate to go back again.

If you are: a) Considering a trip to Zanzibar & b) Looking for a wonderful place to stay Then book your plane ticket(s) and reservation for Azanzi without delay. An incredible property, about 45 minutes from the airport, nestled on the water with just the right amount of privacy and warmth. Lovely room. Hotel is a lovely old building, well looked after, in historic Stone Town. Room was spacious and appropriately decorated in style with Zanzibar. Enjoyable stay.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night en route to Matamwe, Zanzibar. After looking for ages for a reasonably priced hotel (very few exist in Zanzibar!), we landed on Maru Maru as it had received excellent reviews on various websites and was reasonably priced. Rooms: We found the rooms to be very comfortable and spacious. (The bathroom was huge!) They were quite luxurious compared to the other places we'd stayed in Tanzania. The only drawback is that our particular room (311) was right near the kitchen, so light sleepers may find this an issue. Speaking of the kitchen, the food was delicious - the best buffet breakfast we've had in Tanzania so far. Location: The location was exceptional, only a few minutes walk to the Old Fort, the House of Wonders and, best of all, Forodhani Gardens where we ate on two occasions. Stone Town is not particularly big, so you can walk to most places of interest from the hotel. Service: Impeccable. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The driver took our luggage and even walked us individually to the front door with an umbrella (it was raining quite heavily when we first arrived). The reception staff were very friendly and helpful with booking tours and also very responsive to emails. Best of all, we'd noticed that in Africa, most porters and staff will hover after bringing luggage to your room, or accompanying you if you carry your own luggage. They are obviously waiting for a tip and if you've carried your own luggage, it's a bit awkward if you don't want to give one - even moreso if they get angry. The Maru Maru staff never did this but always walked away with a smile. The first time I'd seen this in Tanzania.

My wife and I flew into Zanzibar and spent our first 3 days in Stone Town The first night Tembo put us in the Tembo Apartments which is in a separate building across the street without a view of the Zanzibar Channel. The desk manager promised to move us and the next 2 nights we were in Room 026 which was a fantastic corner suite with balcony overlooking the Channel. Tembo is short walk to old Fort and Wonder House Boats to Prison Island tortoise sanctuary leave from in front of the hotel No alcohol at Hotel restaurant but there are other venues literally next door Hyatt Hotel is next door as well Book Tembo water view and you will be pleased

We left the hotel and close in a deferent hotel and lost one night that we paid for. But we came to Zanzibar to get a nice vocation and this hotel didn’t meet the standards of a decent hotel

Villa Fleur De Lys is an awesome place to relax and gives you amazing views of the ocean. The staff has been very welcoming and friendly. It started with Zoe after the booking, she is quick to respond and even arranged a last minute ferry pick-up for us. Abdullah, our transport, waited patiently in the terminal - very professional and car is clean and well maintained. Mona, Juma and Fauster took good care of us and made us feel at home, served us good food and arranged all the excursions at a very reasonable price. These guys are simply amazing! I would highly recommend Villa Fleur De Lys if you are looking for a quite place to relax and unplug. You can easily spend hours on your balcony sitting and staring at the ocean!

The hotel was very nice and the food was lovely (especially on local night). But the best thing about this hotel was the staff. They were so lovely, helpful and kind all the times! You can also book trips there. The hotel is right at the beach and the view is outstanding!

The swimmng pook is amaizing and the best thing is that the hotel serves free water all around the property from the pool to restauranf even the lobby area. Lovely place pls do visit and stay here

We stayed at sunshine hotel for 3 nights and had a wnoderfull time just chilling by the pool and beach. The hotell has a greate location next to the beach (wich is much more nice here then the south of zanzibar) and two relaxed pool areas with a view over the beach.

When booking for ferry to Zanzibar island use the Kilimanjaro booking office don't use agents they will charge you twice as much.

We have been in the new wing of Zanzibar Ocean BLue for 16 nights. The new wing is close to the other resort. It has large clean rooms, all with sight-seeing. The resort has a large swimmingpool with poolbar. Because we were the only guests the swimmingpool-bar was closed but the waitress came every hour to ask or we want something to drink of eat. The staff isvery helpfull en they are lovely. If you want to go for a trip to Zanzibar don't hesitate to book a room in the new wing of Zanzibar Ocean Blue Resort. The new wing has a facebookpage with a loth of pictures.

Perfect location for a kitesurfing holiday, great beach, great atmosphere thx to the Kite Paradise School next door. Spacious rooms (but minimal decor), lovely beach staff (Shaibu you are the best!), very good massages at the Spa, nice big pool and efficient administration staff. I would not recommend this hotel for families as the beach would be unsafe for children due to kites flying on and off the beach + the atmosphere is more suited for adults who want to kite, chill and relax. The only low point of this hotel is the restaurant. The food is really below standards for a 4* hotel, the breakfast is always the same and the half board doesn't even include water at dinner + I got quite sick one night so hygiene can probably be improved too... The good news is that we told the manager and he thanked us for our feedback and considering his efficiency, you can be sure it will be sorted!

If you want an "authentic" Stone Town hotel, that's not the DoubleTree. But if you want a clean, comfortable, lovely place that caters to your every need - all for less than $100/night - stay here. I've stayed here on both trips to Zanzibar and Id stay again. The view from the top floor restaurant is beautiful, the hotel is peaceful and quiet, the staff truly wonderful, and the rooms make the dirt and grime of stone town touring wash away. I would recommend Zanzibar Beach Resort as a business and leasure destination. It is a beautiful location and conveniently close to the airport and to Stone Town (a must visit). The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would like to commend the Resort Manager, Chief-chef, waitress and waitresses as well and specifically Mr Sinyal at Reception, for all your support during our stay as well as the arrangements with our workshops.

this is really a lovely resort, with two restaurants, friendly staff (although they are partly friendly because they want your tips...) and nice rooms. Our room (E33) was new and very modern. My big problem was, that it had white curtains - so a lot of light in the room as soon as the sun rises... This really bothered me... Other than that we had a great time - nice hotel activities with two tours a week to the nearby village and school (bring school supplies with you, they really need them...). The pools are great and the beachfront is absolutely beautiful. In order to get to the water, you'll have to go through the guys attempting to sell things, if you are not interested, you mustn't be rude, but you must be very assertive! Food is OK, lunch could be better (go to the hotels cliff restaurant for lunch, it's better) and we didn't like the desserts

A messup on the hotel's end led them to overbook guests so we were placed in the nearby Zanzibar Hotel. As a note, our Zanzibar Hotel room was very airy and wide and had a large photogenic blue-tiled tub and fun breakfast staff. Dhow Palace Hotel's interior is beautiful; a nice inner courtyard with antiques strewn about. The pool was beautiful and we went for a pleasant dip in the evening. The staff were kind and the breakfast was good and entertaining because some tourists toured the inside of the hotel while we ate. The location was near the main street and even nearer to a wonderful Chinese restaurant with good seafood that stayed open quite late. The room itself was a bit small and dark but it was clean and cool and the TV had plenty of English language channels. Very pleasant stay but highly recommend to check ahead before check-in.

Indigo beach is, hands down, the most beautiful hotel in the area. As two young women we felt very safe and welcome in the town of Bwejuu. The staff took excellent care of us and were extremely kind and friendly. Everyday, different dinner options were offered. Main course, alone, was enough to satisfy our hunger. If we wanted to be around more people, staff at reception were more than happy to arrange a cab to visit Paje, the neighbouring town. Yoga, cafe's, restaurants, parties, etc. were just a 10 minute ride away. Lastly, the hotel offered many great excursions. This hotel is suitable for couples, families (young and mature children), friends and solo vacations. It's a true haven of love and peace.

Paje is a 1 hr drive from stone town. Taxis really vary in price from $20 usd pp if you can arrange a full car to $50 usd pp. no other transport except limited public buses and if you are not accustomed to riding buses in Africa don't start in Zanzibar. Bottom line once you are there plan to stay there. Lots of companies offer tours from Paje hotels but all will charge extra for transport. If you get into stonetown the tours offered through the Old Fort are excellent. Hotel is bungalow style, no hot water showers but it is hot in Zanzibar so you won't mind the cold water. Really basic. But it was so reasonably priced!

We are a 51 year married couple who escape winter in the U.S. by taking a couple of month long trips to some place warm. This year it was Africa where we began our trek in JoBurg and ended in Zanzibar. While we had great safari experiences the biggest treat was the Mahali. The setting was beautiful, the staff friendly, and it was a complete world. The rooms were spacious with lush balcony views of the ocean and the sizeable swimming pool. You could spend a week and never leave the resort--with free full breakfast and a beach front casual restaurant that offered a wide variety of food and drink at most reasonable prices--all could be charged to your room settling at check out! BUT if you wanted to venture just a few steps outside the resort, there were many other choices for eating as well. But bring schilling along for these. There even was a village of vendors offering African souveniers just step out of the resort. We took advantage of all. Return--in a minute!
