We booked the Shankar Hotel for a few days prior to our departure from Nepal. We had stayed in a few different places during our stay and the Shankar was the best! Their facilities are immaculate, their staff are professional, kind and knowledgeable, the room was not overly spacious but adequate for our needs. Our breakfast was included and the freshness and variety was outstanding. Both my husband and I used the pool area that was again very pleasant. There are local restaurants & shopping near by and also.within walking distance of a Thamel shopping area. I would definitely rebook this hotel if I was returning to Kathmandu.

spent 2 nights there after arriving in Kathmandu, then after 2 nights in Nagarkot hilltop village came back to Shambala. By far the best hotel I stayed in while in Nepal. Breakfast was 1st class as was the staff,also comfortable clean room. After returning from walking around the chaotic streets it was so nice to have a relaxing massage in the Spa followed by dinner in the hotel restaurant. The reception staff helped me to arrange a flight over the Himalayas and the magnificent Mt. Everest for a never to be forgotten experience. Will recommend Shambala to all my friends.

I traveled to Nepal with my best friend and stayed at Kantipur. I remember we were so happy about taking a nice shower and tucking ourselves in the bed that had an electric blanket. We were also provided with hot water rubber bottles which kept us warm. The hotel's architecture is something we could not get over, so beautiful! Everything was super clean, the staff was AMAZING and if i ever go back to Nepal, I am staying here again!

it's worth staying this hotel for several although the price is much higher than others and it's far from Kathmandu. the view arounnd this hotel is fantastic, the service of staff is very good, and the equipment in the room is better than most of hotels in Nepal. But there is no other choice for dinner except in the hotel.

i've been lots of times in nepal, and this hotel will be my loveliest place now. this one is really cool! i had a big balcony, extra-comfortable, bright room with a large led tv and 24-hours electricity/wifi (that is really hard to find in nepal), comfortable gym with a toe cam and sauna... well... everything was very comfortable. in their restaurant (also with plenty of light) my favourite place is a hall with tables and chairs made of teak wood roots - it looks fantastic. menu is quite big lots of tasty food. and a cosy bar, yeah. right there is also a travel desk, they helped me a lot. i've bought there right everything i need for my further trip in nepal. one more stunning thing is - their 'crazy menu' with additional services, like a towel af my favourite colour, set of plants in the room, dvd-player in the room, and consultations on how to make business in nepal. am i sleeping?

First time in Kathmandu and Nepal. Overwhelmed by the entire country and people. Staff at Mulberry were very polite, helpful and simply cannot do enough for you. The hotel is one of the newest built in the city. Great location. Fab roof top bar and swimming pool, not to forget the views from the top! Very good breakfast choices, and the food was super tasty and fresh each day. Very reasonable in price. Cannot fault this place. IF we go back, will stay here for sure. Easy walking distance to Thamel main bazaar and markets.....go for it!

Loved our stay t the hotel. Can't complain anything about the hotel. From the staff to facility to food it is the best property in Nepal as per my experience. Unlucky for us that due to extensive cloud we were unable to witness the Himalayas from our room balcony. But hope to be there once again in near future.

booked 7 nights here and after staying at a few different hotels in nepal, this hotel has to be one of the best. initially i did not really like it, but compared to other hotels in ktm, this hotel is definitely up there. i like the deco, in the living room and the bedrooms. my one disappointment was the shower/bathroom, but i learnt that in nepal, it seems that the status of showers/bathrooms are not brilliant. the shower was never separate from the toilet, so that when you had a shower, the whole toilet would get wet. in terms of hot water (big problem normally in nepal), there usually was enough hot water regardless of the time. back-up generator for electrical failure was good. breakfast was very good, if a little repititive. the location of the hotel is very good, you're straight out into one of the main streets of shopping etc. there is a nice restaurant with the best nepali masala tea. think it was called blossoms. overall a good place to stay. if you can afford it, stay at the hyatt, if not then this is the place to be! oh yes, free wi-fi and free internet access (2 pcs available), so you can always stay in contact!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Maya Manor hotel. I was a week in Nepal fro work, and after a day travelling in the dusty traffic and visiting various fields it was nice to go back to a quiet place, away from the bustle and noise of the streets, but still pretty central. And not too far from the airport. I had a room on the 6th floor, it was huge for me, as I was travelling alone, it had an extremely comfy bed and a very nice bathroom too. The rooms are quiet, even the aircon was not making any annoying noise, as sometime happens. The only disturbances at times being the pigeons on my window sills at around 6 AM, and a bunch of other guests who were getting up even before the pigeons, and had even less respect for other people's rest. But that is definitely not the hotel fault (there are even signs in the corridors reminding people to be quiet...). Good breakfast and there is also the possibility to dine or have lunch on site I definitely would recommendi this place to other people.

Their behaviour was very nice with us.It felt like we were in our own home!!If we visit nepal again will surely go to this hotel.

This place is quiet and peaceful with fantastic views towards the valley and mountains. You can also see Everest when the sky is clear. The room is comfortable and the terrace is huge one can easily spend hours taking in the beauty that is around! The staff make this place even more enjoyable as they are very kind and helpful. To name a few, Moona has been so sweet and went all the way to make my requests happen. Munjo Nepal from the restaurant has been such an amazing person with a smile all the time. I want to also thank Anand for his kindness and being an amazing yoga, meditation and reiki teacher!

We were tired of bugs and cold showers so we decided to stay at Dahlia for a while. It's really like a good European hotel. Very clean and fresh with a big breakfast and nice dinner. A proper hotel. We also left our stuff with them when we went trekking. They had a guard taking care of the bag and everything felt really safe. It is a bit more expensive for being Nepal, but really worth it if you want a soft, big double bed and a hot shower with nice shampoo.

We had 2 stays here during our trip to Nepal, one stay of 4 nights, 2 of which were on an organised tour which we extended to 4 nights. We then came back after a lovely trip to Chitwan. The hotel was clean and comfortable with lovely extensive grounds. Food good, and well stocked varied breakfasts. The rooms were well equipped and clean, and the wifi was good. All the staff, particularly the restaurant staff were friendly and very helpful. Can get a bit crowded sometimes whilst conferences and weddings and other parties are taking place. Would definitely return there if ever visiting Kathmandu again

We have stayed in Yatri in our resent trip to Nepal. We took two rooms for ourselves and parents. Rooms are big enough, clean, pleasing ambience. Staff is very polite, humble, warm and welcoming. Breakfast just too good - tasty, elaborate and wholesome. Did Spa among the facilities and it was really good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is located adjoining market of Thamel, very good location! Key highlight - reception was very responsive when called from room for any kind of request/ service without to hold for long. We loved the place and would recommend to all our friends visiting Kathmandu! Kudos!

The Summit Hotel exceeded my expectations for hotels in Kathmandu. Nestled among other hotels and windy roads you would never expect the Summit Hotel to have such beautiful grounds and gardens. It is peaceful within the hotel grounds and I felt completely safe there. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful and just an overall great experience for my first time in Nepal.

Hotel Tibet International is one of the best hotel in Nepal. You can book this hotel with a good rate through agoda. The room is so huge & clean. You can easily walk to the UNESCO site the Boudhanath stupa. The staff were very very helpful & extremely nice. I will definitely stay there again on my next visit. You will not regret staying there.

I was very pleased with my stay. The hotel had recently been renovated and is modern and smart. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel location is good - there are many restaurants in the hotel and up the road and it is a short walk from Thamel. Good breakfasts.

The rooms are far enough from any road that you won't hear any road noise, but the hotel is just a short walk to the lake and the main tourist area. It was quite chilly during our visit (January), and the heater function on the air con unit worked great. The WiFi was decent for Nepal and the breakfast selection was good. The staff all spoke excellent English and were helpful in arranging transport.

Very nice Hotel in Pokhara. We ended up in the Honeymoon Suite, which is very spacious, clean and well decorated. Check in was nice thanks to welcoming staff. Nice terrace on top floors. In the room: clean and hot water. Bed was very comfy. Bathtub was supposed to offer jacuzzi and hydraulic mechanisms (big asset for the room), but it was not working and the hotel did not advise us on this problem. Attached restaurant is quite expensive for Pokhara but food is good and is worth the price for tourists. Included breakfast is a nice (fresh and good quality) buffet. Spa was out of service, but hotel proposed to use an external Spa company services (they booked it for us and proposed freely a taxi to the spa - return taxi not included though). We highly recommend this hotel for people who are not on a budget trip, as it remains quite expensive. Quality is definitely an asset in the Hotel for Nepal.

Every now and again, you have the privilege of staying somewhere special. I could go on and on about the standard of the rooms, the food, the peaceful garden and above all Suraj and his team of staff. I have travelled to many countries in my 50 years, from some wonderful Youth Hostels in New Zealand to 5 Star luxury Hotels in Venice, Vienna and South Africa, small friendly guesthouses all over Asia and everything in between. Sometimes a place just hits a "sweet spot" and when you look back on your photographs, if one of the places you stayed is up there amongst the Trek Piccys and the colours and smiles of the people of a land, then you know you have found somewhere you will return too again with absolute certainly - The Shambling is such a place. I'm not going to write much more because my biggest fear is that I won't be able to get in next time I land in Nepal! Joking aside though, everything that can be said about this wonderful hotel has been said in the other reviews here. I stayed in 8 different places during my 3 weeks in Nepal all of which I researched fully before booking - The Shambling was the Jewel in the Crown. Thank you Suraj and all your team for looking after me me so well - It will not be the last time we meet.

My wife is very choosy about the hotels and i am very cheap. 😂 So its always tough for me to book a hotel meeting all the expectations. This time it was fulfilled. The room was big enough, the balcony was good. You can see the world peace pagoda and the mountain and the cloud touching the mountain. You can easily spend a whole day just sitting there with a cup of tea which is complimentary. 😁 The room was clean, the laundry service was good. The swimming pool was clean. Now let mw say something about the location. It was not on the main lakeside road but it was only 3 min walk away. The breakfast was buffet. It was great. On the second day they put "bangali parata" on the menu it was really interesting because we were from bangladesh. And we didn't expect that from the hotel. I asked them and they said its their way of making the guests feeling like home. All the stuffs were super friendly and helpful. Overall they deserve A+ rating and i will always ensure that my FNF stays there while traveling to pokhara. 😁 Thanks Jamil

If you’re looking for a hotel to stay in Boudhanath, Kathmandu, LOOK NO FURTHER THAN HOTEL GHANGRI. Perhaps you feel that you should stay right around the stupa. After my 18-day stay, I would advise against it. Ghangri Boutique Hotel is only a couple of blocks away from the stupa and in exchange, you will have an AIR CONDITIONED ROOM, NO MOSQUITOS, NO BARKING DOGS AT NIGHT, AND A DELICIOUS, ALL-INCLUDED BREAKFAST WITH EXCELLENT COFFEE TO START YOUR DAY. This, of course, is in addition to the pleasure of being at a lovely, immaculately clean hotel, where everything works (including the WiFi with backup generator for Kathmandu’s regular power outages). One of us has health concerns so it was great to start the day with a fabulously tasty breakfast knowing that all the food at the hotel was perfectly safe. Our breakfasts started American-style but we soon evolved to delicious puri bhaji followed by lassi. Dinners were equally delicious and varied. The hotel room was equipped with an electric kettle and refrigerator. For drinking, we boiled water from the tap, allowed it to cool and refrigerated it. We stayed healthy and felt good for saving a lot of plastic (and perhaps avoided buying bottled water refilled from the tap, a risk we were warned about). Two friends staying around the stupa came to visit us at the hotel and said, we didn’t know that you guys were “living the life” here! I leave for last what to us was the most unforgettable part of our trip to Nepal: the interaction with the extraordinary Nepali people. To say that the staff at the hotel, starting with the hotel director, bent over backwards to help us with our many needs would be an ungrateful understatement. Their kindness was something beyond what we normally call superb service and falls more in the realm of a priceless human experience. This is what traveling is all about: when you take the place back home with you, in your mind and in your heart.

There are two tuki resort one is a new building having deluxe room and above and other is old building having standard room. The two buildings are facing opposite to each would request any one who is booking a room their to thoroughly check the rooms and in which hotel buildings are they going to reside.

Our stay was very relaxing. The pool was awesome, one of the best in Nepal. Very clean and refreshing. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and had great views. The shuttle to and from the hotel to town was great, no need to pay for taxis.

The staff were friendly and helpful, food was wonderful. I had a nice view from my room which had lovely furnishings and was very spacious. Great location! My only grievance was that the courtyard does not exist as per the photos, it’s actually completely empty and looks like it has been for a long time now, which was such a shame as this was a big selling point for me when I booked this hotel. The view front the rooftop was stunning so I could easily overlook it though! Thank you for a great stay ❤️

This is probably one of the more luxurious places to stay around Fewa lakeside area. It has a pool, sauna, and spa, which looked fairly nice. Pool is pretty much indoor. Room was large and well-appointed, and had a nice balcony. I think they were in the process of doing some renovations during our stay, but it wasn't disruptive. In fact, it was one of the more quiet hotels of the trip. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful; they helped me to book a bus to Kathmandu and also get some laundry washed and dried very quickly, which were greatly appreciated. Buffet breakfast with a good variety of dishes. As of Nov 2017, it seems everything here must be paid in cash; I thought I had prepaid and actually left without paying for the room, but we got it sorted out with minimal hassle.

when we entered into the resort, we thought, what kind of place is this. but when we went towards our room, by seeing the walkway, lots and lots of trees and lush green surroundings, felt really relaxed. this hotel is away from the noise pollution of traffic and you can enjoy your stay with peace. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I am going to book myself for the same hotel in near future. Thanks Agoda for letting us know such a beautiful place.

We booked two types of room, the forest view rooms are the lodges beside the main building, the interior is practically the same, but there will be no view of mountains esp when u get the room on the 1st floor, 2nd floor is ok, rooms are also comfortable. The Mountain View rooms located on the main building and when the weather is nice, u can see the sunrise from the balcony. Hotel also short drive from the Sarangkot view point. Beds are comfortable and rooms are clean.
