    Dev Niwas is just perfect”

We stayed 2 days and we could have stayed forever. The room, even though was the economy was amazing. Big space, comfortable bed and great shower, hot and powerful. The roof terrace is beautiful, facing the fort and with a great view all over Bundi. The staff were extra helpful and the food in the restaurant great.

The building is very unique and nice. Especially the rooftop where you can get a chair, a drink and enjoy the amazing view of the town and palace. Staffs are genuinely friendly and helpful. I was there during off peak season and I was the only guest for two days. It feels I'm visiting home of a close friend. Definitely will come back again one day.

What a lovely little place! This old haveli has been well-maintained, and I had a very comfortable stay. The roof-top restaurant has a perfect view of the palace, and catches the refreshing breezes. The staff couldn't possibly be more helpful and welcoming! I'll definitely stay here again when I visit Bundi.

Bel Hotel, renové avec gout. Un accueil décevant”

Dev Niwas is a beautiful hotel. The decoration of the rooms are refined. Our welcome, however, was not at the minimum required for such an hotel. The manager did no effort to find a solution to manage our stay in a better way. The welcome was not at all sympathic. That's really a pitty that such an hotel is so badly managed.

    Bad value”

Unfortunately, this was the worst value and worst quality of service hotel we have stayed in during our two week trip around Rajasthan. We had arranged to have a pickup at the rail station where we arrived after dark. The manager at the hotel completely forgot and we were left standing there with our bags in the dark and empty station except for a group of touts who saw us as an obvious target. Eventually, after half an hour of waiting we arranged our own transport to the hotel, but it was an uncomfortable start to our visit to Bundi. On arrival we were greeted by the new manager, who is originally from Udaipur, and (rather unprofessionally) regaled us with how much he hated working at this hotel in Bundi and how he wanted to go back to Udaipur. He didn’t know that we were arriving or how many nights we were staying, and it all came across as very sloppy. The room was too noisy to sleep in the food in the restaurant was mediocre the water was not hot and staff were unfriendly

    Perfect stay”

The view from the roof, the comfort of the room, the attitude of the staff

It was simply perfect. In fact, it was one of the reasons we decided to stay longer — not only we loved Bundi as a town, but we also loved our stay at Dev Niwas. The room was very clean, cozy and nicely designed, the staff was polite, friendly and always helpful, and the building looked like a very well decorated house of some aristocratic indian family (I believe there is a legend about that too). Check the view from the roof right away — it caught us many times and we enjoyed sitting there any time of the day. The food is also very good (prices are higher than usual but it's worth it).

The Best Place to Stay in Bundi”

The staff is the best trained I have experienced in India. The hotel is beautiful enough to go see even if you did not stay there. It is in the very center of Bundi.

I have stayed at Dev Niwas before and really wouldn't stay anywhere else in Bundi. The staff is trained like the staff of a five star hotel. They stand every time you enter the area where they are. The building is fabulous with a huge marble courtyard and the rooms are very nice. The kitchen is spotless (not usually the case in India) and the view of the fort and palace amazing.

Sense of history through the architecture of the hotel and attention to detail in the decor and layout.

Dev Niwas is a welcoming, friendly and efficiently managed hotel. Raj and his staff were amiable and mindful in their approach to their guests. The location of this beautifully restored haveli at the foot of the Bundi palace and fort provides a magnificent juxtaposition and vista from the rooftop restaurant. Highly recommended.

We loved Dev Niwas - the staff were great! the room was small - we did reserve a standard - there are other larger rooms but we only paid $20 USD a night. The location is amazing and the rooftop restaurant was great - so great we didn't eat anywhere else and that is not normal for us!! If you make it to Bundi you have to stay here!!!

A friendly hotel in friendly Bundi.”

The open plan spaces of the common areas, i.e. the ground floor courtyard and the vistas from all parts of the roof. The view from the restaurant complements the wonderful food, and our room was quiet and spacious.

The Dev Niwas was more than we hoped for in our expectations of its facilities and the staff were absolutely delightful. The tariff proved good value when considered with other accommodation we experienced in India and I have no hesitation in recommending this charming haveli as a must stay when visiting the fair city of Bundi.

    Beautiful place”

Bundi is massively picturesque but pretty filthy, so the clean and sparkling Dev Niwas is a welcome retreat. Staff are fun and friendly and the main atrium is delightful, with its frescoes and plants. Rooms are fairly basic, with little storage space and no TV, but it did not bother us, as they were clean and the beds comfortable. The restaurant boasts fantastic views of the Palace and serves tasty food. Finally, a mention for Rajdev, the concierge, whose beret gives him a military air and inspires the thought "the army is in charge, things will go well". Well, the army wasn't in charge, but Rajdev was, and things did go well. (An afterthought, though - no fault of the hotel, but Bundi is full of brass bands that often play all night. Take ear plugs).

Good sized room, clean and comfortable. Great value Heritage Hotel with very helpful staff.

Dev Newas is a great place to stay in Bundi. We were really pleased to have found this newly restored and interesting property right in the centre of town. The facilities are like new, clean and well maintained with everything working perfectly as it should. We particularly enjoyed relaxing in the open courtyard and adjoining areas in the evening over quiet drink and snacks. The friendly staff helped to make the couple of days we spent in Bundi one of the highlights of our five week trip to India.
