This attractive property in Barcelona boasts a great location right in the shopping area and is very close to all the attractions in the area. The Gran Barcino Hotel puts guests right in the city center where a short stroll would take guests to many recommended attractions like the Generalitat, the Cathedral, Las Ramblas, and Picasso Museum. There are 68 tastefully appointed rooms available, all of which are fully furnished and spacious. The building is mid-rise and is a beauty to look at. For recreation, there is a bar and a coffee shop. The Gran Barcino Hotel is an excellent choice for those who want to be close to the city center and all the attractions when visiting Barcelona.

Great location and great price! Everything was updated! Only wish the shower drained a little faster but overall would definitely recommend!
Absolute Best Location! ”
We could not have been happier with our stay! Even if it had been a dump (it was not at all, it was quite nice and we had absolutely zero complaints about the room!) the location would have made up for it. So close to everything! The ONLY down side is that since it is so close to the Barcelona Cathedral, you can hear the bells ringing all night long (and they ring every 15 minutes...). The first couple of nights it woke us up a bit (could have been a combo of bells and jet lag), but after that we got used to it and didn’t even notice them. We loved our stay at the Gran Barcino Hotel and couldn’t recommend it more!
Really nicely updated hotel”
I had read a lot of reviews not saying good things about this place, but it seems to have been renovated recently and is in perfect condition. The location is really nice as its super close to everything including a metro station. My only gripe would be a leak on the bathroom ceiling, but it wasn't that bad.
The location is amazing, right in the heart of the citycenter. Our walking tour started one minute away from the hotel, the metro stop was 1 min away as well. The hotel is quite basic but it's clean. Breakfast was ok, nothing spectacular though. I would recommend it because of the location.
I had seen the many negative reviews, but found out that, the hotel has been completely renovated a few months ago. I t was closed for 3 months, to be completely renovated. We got a wonderfully nice NEW room, with a huge terrace, which we used diligently to drink red wine: o) The location was phenomenal, you live 10 steps from Plaça de Sant Jaume, 50 meters from placa del rey, 50 meters from the cathedral and 200 meters from La Rambla. 300 meters from the water. The service was super good and they were very helpful. Thanks you to the staff, and I will come back to this hotel, when I visit Barcelona next time. From Pablo and Mitzi
Fabulous location and hotel. ”
I would highly recommend the Gran Barcino Hotel. Everything was perfect.
This hotel was beautiful, clean, and centrally located, but the walls were entirely too thin. Because of the significant time difference, we found ourselves sleeping into the afternoon. It was quite difficult though, as we could hear the cleaners moving around furniture in the other rooms. Other than that, I have no complaints. We were able to walk to most of Barcelona's main attractions in less than 15 minutes. Great location, the staff are friendly and helpful. Check out time is always at 12pm, but they allow you to store your belongings in a private room until you leave for your flight. Very convenient.
The room we got was very spacious! It’s clean. No slippers though.
Great location and friendly staff”
Cozy neighbourhood and la Rambla only a minute walk away. A longer walk to the beach is only good for exercising. Nice room and we were fortunate to get one with a large terrace with sun beds! The tiles on the bathroom floor were not fully clean and water stayed after showering, though minor problems. We didn't have breakfast or eat anything at the hotel and we missed a pool under the hot sun. Helpful staff who offered to book tickets and didn't mind us fixing with our bags in the hold the day of our departure. I'll be back!
Excellent clean & superbly located hotel”
Hotel is so central in the middle of the old town near the Cathedral. There are shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and supermarkets everywhere around it. Street is nice and safe for walking in the evening as very busy and shops open till midnight around it. Hotel itself is immaculate and maid service cleans your room every day and leaves toiletries etc. Room has a fridge and a safe which is great. We had a balcony looking onto the street and it had black out curtains so there was no problem with light wakening us up. Very minimal noise of cars outside and after all staying in a city I thought the noice was really hardly noticeable. We had a great sleep, comfy beds, really was perfect I hope to come back here and will recommend to anyone. We did not have breakfast as prefer the variety of places outside so cannot comment on that. But 100% loved it. Will be back.
The staff here were very good. We booked the room the night before and when we arrived we were told they were fully booked! Even though I had already paid for it. It was a public holiday when we booked and arrived so the booking agents couldn't talk to them. They were very nice and found us a room at one of there other much nicer motels about 2 blocks away. We went there and checked in no problems. On our 2nd day they told us they were over booked for our last night there and said we would have to go back to the the Gran Barcino but we could stay one more night if we wanted to. So we did and they gave us a free breakfast for our troubles. We arrived back at the Gran Barcino and they gave us a room. It was on the 2nd floor and the streets were very noisy all through the night (both places were). There was only 1 PowerPoint in the room. But the people were nice and they also gave us a free breakfast.
Great Location but lots of street noise”
It is a perfect location, short walk to la rambla, barceloneta, picasso museum, barcelona cathedral, plaza catalunya and 3 mins away from the Jaume I metro station! The room is comfortable enough and good value for money. Bring some earplugs because that street gets very noisy with party goers and late night drinkers after hours. I'd stay here again.
Excellent central location”
cobbled street below was noisy as well as the nearby cafes. advice about parking before our arrival would have been useful. as it happened a public underground car park was close by. no parking outside the hotel at all as it is on a narrow, cobbled street.
The hotel was a pleasure with a large room with a small balcony. Comfortable bed and quiet street. Nearby good restaurants and shopping with a free breakfast.
the best location hotel in centre of city”
the best location hotel in centre of city, the room was a bit old but its okay for price
Wonderful hotel ”
Very well located, very clean but for cost would have expected breakfast to be included. No tea or c”
No breakfast included and no tea and coffee in rooms. Very well located and a very clean hotel.
Spacious room with large bathroom. Unfortunately AC not working !”
They were kind enough to provide us with 3 bed (without asking) even though we only book for twin bed (My son only 2 yo so not really needed). The room and bathroom is spacious (2 sinks, a shower cubicle and a bathtub with shower overhead) Unfortunately the AC did not work for our 4 nights stay. We have to open the window and I think that happened in the entire hotel as we saw other rooms also open their window. We asked about it to the staff and they said that the AC is only for warming not cooling (???). Cleaning service quite tidy but they did not replace the sheet as I still found marks from my son's spilling the night before on the next day
Not 4 Star”
Hotel was at a great location and staff were pleasant enough however our room was in need of a refurb, the towels were worn and the bed linen was stained. The fridge also didn't make things cold. These are not things that we normally care about but our stay here did not feel like a four star standard as advertised in the lobby. Not terrible but not great.
