just a place you pay for.”
room looked tidy but found some mold because of, I think, humidity. Air conditioner is not really working cool enough. A bit far from main road where you can grap a cap but hotel provide free transporation service from 8 to 5. Resort's pool is great for playing with kids and maybe adults too. Also you can have scenic view of ocean near beach.

hard to get transportation to go anywhere from hotel. Have to wait and wait and wait... Only way to get taxi is through reception by paying 100 php on top of meter. Grab drivers take reservation and quickly cancel it. Not sure what the problem was? Is it location or something else?

Worst Hotel I've ever stayed in!”
The pictures I saw on another website made this hotel look fantastic with a sea view, but it's all a ruse. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and there is no sea view because another resort by another name is blocking this hotel, but I believe it's owned by the same company. In the room there is no WiFi and it's more of suite than a hotel room. The room service was horrible. I ordered a sandwich and it was served in a styrofoam container. The room itself was so outdated, with old furniture and a door and lock that had me sleeping with one eye open. I had breakfast included in my room but it was in the other resort area and wasn't very good. Thankfully I was able to change hotels on New Year's Eve of all days and the one positive was the hotel only charged me for the one night I stayed there. But the hotel was nowhere near worth the $160.00 I paid for the night I stayed.

Above average”
For a Filipino establishment, pretty good. By international standards, barely 3 stars. Biggest challenge is that it's so far off the main road, your only way in or out is by taxi, local tricycle, or pre-arranged transport. Uber drivers do come to this location. No decent beaches nearby. I don't really recommend this place for nearby enjoymemt. But if you need a location for a night near the airport, this place is fine. Don't even bother with the breakfast buffet on the premises. -Just don't.

VERY DISAPPOINTING”
This is a POORLY MANAGED condo residence, NOT a hotel/resort. There's no wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby and it didn't work most of the time. If you need to use the wifi for work, forget it! The lobby is noisy and the staff is talking loud chit-chatting without any considerations to the guests. The property description in the website is misleading. It seems there's 3 resorts next to each other sharing the facilities. If you want to go to the beach, which you access through the adjacent resort, you need a "pool stub" from La Mirada or the guard won't let you in even if you show your room key, This is a secluded, gated area and I don't even think outsiders can come so I don't understand why the strict rules??? There are 2 restaurants nearby, one is in the beach access resort and other is in the adjacent hi-rise building which looks like an apartment/condo building as well. I believe the front desk did say it is also owned by La Mirada but it has a different name(?). Both restaurant are very UN-INVITING, when you walk in you can't even tell it's a restaurant. It looks like they just put chairs and tables in the lobby and call it a "restaurant" - I had to ask! The food choice is limited but it was decent but pricey for what you get. The waiter sat us down and walked away. We had to ask for the menu after a couple of minutes! You would expect bad service in this country but if you're the only ones in the restaurant and you're paying $66 USD/night I expect at least DECENT service. The only other choice to eat is to go out to the main road, you either walk 5-10 minutes, call for a taxi which they will charge extra for picking you up or use the hotel free shuttle service which "runs 8 am - 5 pm" but you have to schedule a pickup and return - there's no "convenience" in this place at all. Once you go outside the gate there's not much options there either! You would think the "resort" will have all the amenities so the guests won't have to leave the facilit

Bring Your Own Food”
I booked for two nights and left after my first night. The location near the beach is great, but I was so frustrated by the food options and terrible standard that I didn't even stay long enough to enjoy the beach or the pool. Let me just do a walk through. I arrived at about 6pm after having Scuba Dived all day so I was starving. I arrived at the hotel and was firstly advised that there was no internet int he rooms. For a hotel that charges $140 a night, that is totally disgusting. I went up to the room, it was nice, clean and comfortable. By now I'm hungry. I go downstairs and ask where the restaurant is and get advised it is in the next building down. Odd, but ok. (Unless it was storming then you would get wet trying to eat). So I go to eat at the SotoGrande building and found the menu to be plain and boring. So I thought I'd go for a steak sandwich (safe bet I thought). The bread was stale, the cheese was ice cold and plastic stuff. The steak was almost paper thin and two tiny pieces. I sent it back, asking for melted cheese and some steak. When it came back I took one bite and spat it out. I complained about the food and it fell on deaf ears. And yes, I was still expected to pay for it. I asked where else I could eat. They directed me to the next one at Vista Mar Beach resort. At the onset I asked if their food was any better. Waiter had no idea how to respond. I ordered some pork ribs with sweet chili sauce and rice. What I got was rubberized meat and stale hard rice with sauce that was sickly. By this time I was so hungry that I ate the food. I again complained about the food and the waiter actually told me that the food was all defrosted as the chef was not working, but to try again tomorrow as the chef might be working. HELL NO!

No restaurant, only coffee shop. There's a resto next to this building, the Sotogrande and Vista Mar which they can deliver the food in ur room. but, customer service? Poor. They will pass you around, and order will take an hour to deliver. And we expected to be served on a plate, but it was packaged thru a styrofoam with no utensils or even a tissue. Definitely not worth it. Only good in this place is the room itself. Period!

Not value for money ”
The location is not good. There is a nearby beach but very small. There are small independently owned stores outside the main security gate but it's a few minutes walk away. There is a good gym onsite and coffee shop. The staff are polite but there was one or two female staff at reception that need to stop using their mobiles whilst at work, it looks unprofessional. Overall, it's too expensive for what you get.

Unimpressive”
The first issue was its remote location, meaning extra fee for taxi and long ride to the city center for entertainment. At one point, I could not get a taxi out of the facility until the next morning. Secondly, there was a problem with a couple of unruly, loud, rambunctious punks who routinely caused problems at the gym. They were combative and vulgar, yet when the manager was called, he merely relegated the issue to poor communications and refused to take a decisive actions to preclude recurrence. Lastly, there were huge cockroaches in my room and bugs in the lobby. The staff was superficially polite without being really helpful.

Getting In and Out ”
I have been coming to La Mirada and Sotogrande for years. I have made suggestions for improving the transportation quite a few times. Now that Mactan Newtown is up and running, running a shuttle service to Mactan Newtown seems to be a viable option. There are three hotels in the clusters all run by the same company. How much are the costs for running a 1/2 hour shuttle to MNT? The alternative is calling taxi, and the surcharge is 50 pesos to 100 pesos, a large sum in comparison to the fare. This trip I had a very unpleasant experience when we asked for a cab. We asked the front desk to call a cab and sat down and waited. It was shortly after 5 p.m. (on Sunday May 1, 2016). After about 15 minutes a cab pulled up and a couple got off. I asked could we take that cab. The receptionist stopped us suggesting that one of the hotel staffs was getting one for us at the gate. We appreciated the effort but thought that it would be such non-sense for the staff to flag down this empty cab (there is only one gate) and come back. The cab never came back. Either the staff was useless or the cab was taken by someone else (in another building, with or without calling for one). We eventually waited for over an hour to get into one. WHY STOPPED US? She said what if we got on this one and the staff got another one. It would seem so easy to just call the staff out at the gate to stop trying. I was thinking the staff would come back with this one. I was wrong. It just shows there were others waiting too, and we were penalized for calling for a cab. Anyway, the transportation issue must be solved. There are other minor management issues too. We were in Room 5115, the toilet board cannot stay up, the door to the balcony cannot be locked (a splash of WD40 might be needed), the split type air con on top of the bed is dripping water. These things should have been picked up by housekeeping without our input.
