The hotel is lovely. The location is fantastic. The staff were wonderful. Room we stayed was small but it’s clean and cozy. The breakfast buffet was delicious 😋.
Highly Recommened ”
I can not express how friendly and helpful all of the staff were! Their service made this hotel stand out. Rooms had a ‘Handy’ phone with internet and calling capabilities which we were allowed to use at no charge during our stay. This was extremely helpful in allowing us to navigate the city and to call anywhere we needed (as we didn’t buy international plans for our cellphones and relied solely on WiFi). They also had irons available for use (which was extremely helpful and missed when we got to our hotel in Madrid and they didn’t have irons available). Wish the rooms were just a tad bigger. Paid for a comfort room but it was still super tight. Aside from that, it was great!
Ideal location for sightseeing. The staff most helpful and room kept up to a very good standard throughout our 5 days. Breakfast fresh plentiful and a good selection, if I ever return to Barcelona will use Leonardo’s again .
Great location 👍🏻”
We came to BCN with for family vacation, 2 kids - 6 & 2, the hotel is very child welcoming. Room was a little crowd with babcote and open sofa for our eldest, but we manage to have a great stay anyway. The location is excellent, just a street from Bucaria market and from les rambles bv. + there is close metro station. If I'll come back to BCN, I'll definitely look to stay there again :)
Nice City Hotel near Ramblas, friendly stuff”
Friendly staff, close to Ramblas, good service . first we got a room toword the backyard, nearly no daylight. Then we could change to 4th flour with a sunny view over the roofs. Better to upgrade for superieur room class.
Absolutely amazing and very enjoyable”
We cannot express enough what a wonderful holiday we had, the Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. Our room was serviced each day and our towels changed, although the room wasn't huge it was perfectly adequate for the 4 days we stayed. There were lots of really good Restaurants and Tapas bars close by with very reasonably priced food, it was most of the drinks that were expensive in most places. The Hotel was convenient to the majority of the attractions, we were yards away from La Rambla, and a tube station was very close. We got a Taxi transfer to and from the Airport which only took us about 20 minutes in busy rush hour traffic. We would strongly recommend both Barcelona and Hotel Principal for a great short break.
Amazing location near La Rambla”
Very convenient location just off La Rambla about halfway between the port and placa Catalunya. Although the Hotel Principal can be classed as a mid range budget establishment, the level of facilities is high. The standard double rooms are a reasonable size (reasonable, remembering you are in European) with a balcony and floor to ceiling double doors to the outside. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is available at 12€. Beds, unfortunatly are European hotel standard and on the hard side
Basic hotel with small room but great location”
Though this hotel has very central location and yet convenient for public transport, theres a few let down: 1. Room is extremely small and basic 2. Bed is uncomfortable (hard) and air conditioner is centrally controlled with warm temperature hence the stuffiness in the room. 3. Bed linen was dusty even after it was changed after 2 days 4. Air conditioner make noises that disturb good night sleep. Will not recommend this hotel if you are expecting a more comfortable holiday and is definitely not value for money
Hotel Prinsipal in Barcelona”
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Principal in Barcelona. The Hotel is centrally placed in the city center, very close to underground station. We liked very much Good breakfast, good service and nice & comfortable rooms. We will recommend this hotel to stay which is very good within the price range it cost.
Lovely Hotel centally located”
This hotel exceeded our expectations and was easy to find after enquiring at the information stand in the La Rambla area.
Great hotel and location!
Just far enough from Las ramblas to be quiet, but close enough to walk everywhere. ”
Outstanding coffee stand on the corner. Great people watching!
Breakfast was nice and room was OK but when i check in, there was 2 guys. I don't think they were kind. No smile No warm welcoming even they didn't say Hello. Hopefully, the staffs should have good manner as a professional service minder. Thank you
The rooms are small. Some light bulbs are not working. The bathroom is cramped; not functional. The heat/air are non-functional.The elevator is small and slow. Not enough air circulation in the rooms, especially if the ac/heat is not working properly. And there is no ventilation system in the bathroom with no window.
Fair - only asset is good location for value.”
Good location but given some unpleasant experiences, I will probably not come back: 1. Phone in room was not working; front desk staff was clearly unhappy to help stating that I can use the public phone. I had to insist that room phones are standard and I will have to make several personal calls. Phone was fixed after I insisted. 2. Front desk staff was not very friendly and quite intimidating to approach. 3. Very poor insulation between rooms. You can hear conversations, actions and doors closing and opening. 4. TV remote control was barely functional but after my experience with the room phone, I thought it was not worth my energy to speak to front desk again about this.
Nice hotel close to La Ramba”
the people on the desk could have been more welcoming, but weren't, the bed was as hard as a rock, the restaurant looked ok but we weren't able to eat there because of an early flight. the bathroom was modern, except for the bed, other than the bed, we had no complaints. we would stay there again but ensure something was done about the bed. we did have trouble finding the principal hotel and a cross street would have helped us find it sooner, as we had walked from the start of la rambla from the harbour, incidentally the nearest cross street to the principal hotel is hospital st.
quaint hotel, and great location. ”
comfortable, and breakfast was good. The hotel needs to replace all their bath towels as they are old, threadbare and very thin, and also they could provide some softer pillows for those who need it.. Otherwise the stay was fine and the location great.
EXCELLENT LOCATION CLOSE TO LA RAMBLAS,NICE ROOM AND CLEAN.ROOM A BIT SMALL BUT SATISFACTORY FOR SHORT STAY
Marco was the best bartender we have ever had!
A great 3 night stay. Location was perfect and the hotel staff always helpful with directions. ”
Rooms were very clean and newly refurbished. Bathroom was a little run down compared to the rest of the room. Found staff very helpful. Would recommend to friends.
