Receptionist was brilliant”
I have forgotten his name but he was amazing. I booked this hotel for my wedding night but didn't realise I had booked the standard room. After looking at the room I told the receptionist that I dont like the room, he was very understanding and gave me a free upgrade.
I checked in and tried to get settled but i found the place very spooky. It appeared that there were no guests and only 2 members of staff working in the whole place. Our room was up two sets of stairs and down spooky corridors when i finally got to the room i just felt like there wasn't anyone in the hotel but me. I couldnt sleep a wink its definitely haunted you need to go to feel it for yourself. The place has potential but there is no atmosphere and it feels abandoned.
Some strange stain on the bed”
I think the staff need some new education on good customer service. After travelling for 7 hours i arrived quite late at the hotel. Everything was not quite as it had first seemed on arrival. I had some sort of large yellow cream stain on the covers which is disgusting! There was also hair on the sheets .. clearly the bed covers have not been changed from the previous guest. I approached the staff member at reception with also the photos i had taken..to be told oh i am sorry about that.. as a frequent user of various hotels i found this reply very poor! I will not stay here again...
pleasant interlude en route to Cumbria”
No complaints. Efficient staff.Excellent parking facilities. Relaxing atmosphere.
convenient stopover to see friends and family”
Arrived late afternoon. Friendly welcome on reception. Good sized clean room. Plenty of choice for breakfast, including full English meal.
Good cheap hotel....dreadful Internet”
Stay was ok, room comfortable, decent spec, horrible bar, Internet is rubbish and so slow, seem to a conveyor belt of wedding type events, no atmosphere at all at the hotel
very friendly and helpful staff”
very helpful and friendly staff. Nice large room with a lovely bath and plenty of hot water. Fantastic breakfast, altogether great thank you
Perfect bargains for *the* residence in Yorkshire.”
== Location and Accessibility == We arrived, travelled and left by *railway*, and were very satisfied with the services from *Bingley* to Leeds [and thence to most of the attractions] and Haworth. However, reaching the Bingley railway-station is not the definition of comfort, consisting of a thirty minute walk, or a busride. The little less time-consuming, and comparatively flat way to Shipley does not pay off, due to worse connections. *Access by road* is naturally very easy. *Travelling by airplane*, you will need to arrange either a car, or settle with trains. A taxi-cab to the stations is definitely affordable. == Hotel comfort == I know, this is what most people are interested in, but this is simply a way to easy question, so I will make it this simple for you: Stay here, if you get a good price for it, and want to see a good bit of Yorkshire. Only if you stay there mainly for Haworth, consider a closer residence. - Facilities: Beautiful - Comfort: Excellent - Staff: Superb - Price: Good enough, however, the hotel's offerings are worth looking out for! == Staying around Yorkshire == What we did: - Haworth: Heritage Trainline from Keighley, Bronte Parsonage. This is an undeniable must-see when travelling to Yorkshire. Haworth itself offers the most enjoyable gift-shopping I have had on my trip. If you enjoy literature, this is the place to go. [*Followed* by Bath.] Bronte-Fans will not have to fear running out of historical routes to follow; varying exhibitions to watch; and novels, juvenila, and poetry by the sisters, as well as secondary literature on them to find. A tip: Go on the weekend. Slightly ironically, most of the bookshops are closed on weekdays, due to a lack of customers. As stupid as that might be, this is also the case mid-season. - Chatsworth Hall [Manor]: Jane Austen's alleged inspiration for Pride And Prejudice. Accessible from Sheffield Bus Station, and absolutely accessible from the hotel, if you head off early enough. == What you
