Really average ”
Breakfast was disappointing. This hotel is not far from the station but it’s not the best area. The rooms are really small and the air con is not great. The hotel is not a great option.

Dear Paul, Thank you very much for your preference while staying in Naples. We are regret if our breakfast with its wide selection of local products and Neapolitan specialties did not meet your expectations, if you had reported it to us, we wuold have been pleased to satisfy you with any request. As for the room, Palazzo Caracciolo dispose of 146 rooms, different one from the other, able to satisfy all our guests preferences, we are sorry that you may have not enjoyed your room, and would have been eager to offer a different accommodation, had we known of your dissatisfaction. Palazzo Caracciolo is located in the middle of the old town, this neighborhood is an exceptional point to enjoy the heart of Naples and to live an authentic experience; we really hope you will be returning in the future in our beautiful city so that we can meet personally and share special tips over the hidden gems of this city. Subpar hotel ”
Walking into this hotel we thought it was going to be really nice, but the rooms were kind of run down and sparse. We ate in the hotel restaurant because the area is so sketchy we didn't want to walk around especially in the evening. Most of the nearby restaurants are in a maze of isolated alleys. The staff in the restaurant were pretty rude especially when my husband walked in with shorts on and the host's eyes looked like they were bugging out of his head. My husband changed and we ate there, but the food was standard hotel food probably one of the few subpar places we ate which was comical considering they acted like it was such a fine establishment. Luckily we only had to stay one night to catch an early flight .

Rooms were comfortable, location is OK depending on your plans. Staff were helpful without being assertive. Breakfast really bad--sub standard and there's no pool or terrace.

We stayed just for one night in transit to Capri. The hotel is very comfortable but just that it's not in the city centre of Napoli.

Safety and Value”
Hotel safety, location is full of character, well kept building.
Second time to stay at Palazzo Caracciolo. Last year stayed 2 nights, June 2015 stayed 10 nights. Two women vacationers over 50. Though neighborhood is a bit rough using safety common sense we were able to enjoy a glimpse into the average Napoli life. We walked all through the central historic district. Walked to Garibaldi Station to get metro and also train to Sorrento. In Sorrento took Bus to Almafi and Positano. Every afternoon came back to Palazzo Caracciolo beauty and felt safe. Staff is professional and very helpful at front desk. Housekeeping service is exceptional, laundry was perfect. Comfort level is wonderful. I would go back again without thinking twice. Value exceeds price.

Pristine hotel in the midst of mess”
Cleanliness, staff performance, location
Naples has got to be the most dirty city ever! We walked down the streets and felt very scared for our body pouches with our money inside. Random people will come really close to you. Naples is a beautiful city, if you can ignore the mess. We loved the bustle and history of the city, as well as being the gateway to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. The hotel itself was a holiday away from the garbage piling up on the streets. It was clean, the staff were professional and helpful, and the breakfast options were huge. We stayed in a loft with some stairs that led to the bedroom, that was interesting. We had breakfast and cocktails at night in the main dining hall and it was an amazing experience. However, if you don't smoke, you might find the smell off-putting. Because the 'tent' wa as covering the ceiling, my wife couldn't take the smell of the cigarettes. All in all, an amazing stay! It was a very sweet part f

Modernized Palace”
Beautiful, everyone knew where it was, interesting neighborhood
Some have said the staff were cold, but I think they were often baffled by travelers' expectations. With a few smiles to soften them up, I found them friendly and accommodating. They need training in mastering more of the facts of this intricate city, such as opening and closing times of sights, but they were always glad to check on the internet. Not everyone was profient in English, especially at night, but the day clerks did speak English well. The restaurant is excellent, and as I am alone and old and hesitated to walk the neighborhood at night, I was happy to enjoy dinner in the lovely candle-lit courtyard. Size of portions was fine for me; younger people might find them small. Yes, internet was below par. Probably not the fault of the hotel, but the system. I would love to go back.

Lovely cosy room but staff needs improvement...”
Cozy room, central location
We stayed one night in a Superior room at the Palazzo Caracciolo just after the Easter weekend and the quality/price ration was hence very good as it was off-peak. The room was spacious and lovely with a very cozy feel and a comfortable bed. The negative points though were that the staff was not very friendly and seemed to think that professionalism excludes friendliness and making guests feel welcome, we noticed that immediately when we checked in. The second day was definitely worse when we went to the restaurant for breakfast and were not even greeted by the only waiter who then refused in a very impolite way to give us another table after he had quickly assigned us a table just next to the opened restaurant door (the day was grey and windy and we even wonder how a table could have been placed just at the entrance of the restaurant where everyone is walking in and out). The breakfast room was not full and a few tables just needed to be cleaned up but the waiter clearly didn't want to bother. A second waiter showed up after a while, however the service was terrible (no refill of sugar and jams on the table neither before nor after we sat, same thing with forks, knives etc...). That spoilt our whole image of the hotel and despite we really liked the room we're not sure we'll be back in that hotel.

A hotel with nice decor and great breakfast buffet”
Central location, nice ambience, good breakfast buffet
The experience of my stay was great as the room we stayed was nicely decor with warm ambience. The foods provided in breakfast buffet were delicious and with quite a number of varieties, including four choices of fresh juices, fresh fruits, Parma ham, different choices of pastries and cold cuts. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to Stazione Napoli Centrale where we could take trains to Pompeii.
