A very outdated and rundown hotel”
I stayed 1 night and cancelled the rest of my stay and found alternative accommodation. I never even got the proper refund and have give up trying to get it back. I dont blame the staff its the company Brittania Hotels Group they are shockingly rude and just not interested once they get your money. My advice if you do stay there check your room before you pay. Good luck
Overnight stay to visit my son.”
The price of the room was brilliant and well worth it. Had tea/coffee making facilities, TV, comfy huge bed, sparkling clean bed linen and towels with 2 small bars of soap which was great for me as I had forgotten mine. Staff appeared helpful and friendly. The hotel looked like it was very grand in it's time and my room although was obviously once lvly looked a bit tired, stain on the chair and carpet, wall paper coming away. Sad really as it wouldn't take much to sort it out then maybe people would be happier to stay. For me it was ideally situated and everything I needed. I will definitely revisit.
You get what you pay for - a good price for a clean, well located hotel served with direct buses to town centre and sea front. However, the hotel is getting slightly tired and should consider planning a make-over for next season.
I Have Never Wrote a Review Before but Could Not, Not Write a Review. Horrendous Room. ”
Were not someone who write reviews, ever. But this place was so bad we couldn't not write a review! We paid £100 for one night for a room that you would see in a 1960s hostel. Punched holes in doors, no lock just a big hole where the handle would go. Damp stains on the walls, stains on the carpet. Mould in the bathroom, broken tiles. We was even worried about brushing our teeth because of the poor standard! Who knows if they run the taps for legionella! It was that bad. Walls were paper thin, could hear next doors entire conversation when laying in bed, so didnt sleep. Will be writing a complaint to the hotel.
Really good value for money. Warm room, big bed. Reception check in very friendly and efficient. Bar staff a bit brusque no attempt at conversation. Night porter arrangement a little problematic, was questioned on inviting relatives to my room after the main door had closed. A little embarrassing to be honest. Other than that a great hotel.
Basic old and tired”
Ok for a night or two if working away If your on your hols avoid at all costs If yiur on a cheap coach holiday the reason its cheap is because your staying here
Close to centre but rooms are run down and dirty
It was better than i expected after reading reviews. Good location you can walk to everything you need. I didnt have any food so i cant comment on that but the staff were nice. Overall it is absolutely fine although it is like a maze we had fun trying to find our room at the top from reception i think we ended up going a different way everytime but who carss
Have to pay 10 pounds for parking at the hotel. ”
The car park is full of pigions. 10 to park 7 pounds for a car wash. I last styed in this hotel 15 years ago. It was tired then, and it does not look like they have spent any money on the rooms since. Avoid better hotels for the money, with free parking.
Round the Roundhouse”
We stayed here on a Friday night. This was a good choice. Check in was easy and efficient. We liked our room - one on the outside with lovely views all around Bournmouth. The round nature of the building gave us great views. The room was clean and well ordered. The breakfast was excellent, substantial and restfully provided. Staff were unobstrusive and pleasant in delivering the food. The food was hot. Check out was again easy and efficient.
Rounhouse in July 2009”
We stayed in an inside room in the Roundhouse hotel in July, 2009. We navigated the parking, if you like a bit of a challenge you should try this as the carparking is tight! However, to balance that it is also free in an expensive car parking town. Reception was clearly busy, but efficient and staff well trained. The lift provided some challenges and refused to go up for some reason we couldn't work out. However, again some patience, and possibly luck the thing wafted upwards to the 6th floor. On the whole we enjoyed our stay and would recommend for a slightly different experience.
Check in staff very often to slow and not very helpful ”
OK for the price room staff very nice and friendly but the rest of them are not up to much night porters are rude and a bit up them shelves thay are not the police some of the desk staff are not helpful and can be a bit up them selves
Basic but comfortable accommodation. Room was clean, bed big, creaky and not too very confortable. New shower/bath - good water pressure. However, BEWARE OF ONSITE PARKING CHARGES - £10 A NIGHT - which bumps up the cost of the accommodation! I DID ask the cost of parking onsite when booking, and was told (on the phone) that it was £3 a night - NOT true!
The decor is a little dated but the room was a good size and spotlessly clean. Very good location for town centre/beach
I booked a double room in Roundhouse Hotal but when I reached there they said our Hotel is full we don't have any room for you so if you want we cancel your booking or we send you other hotel .I'm very surprised and I argument with reception but they not listen me .they transferd my booking to Heathland hotel there very bad condition room broken furniture and very hot room. This is very horrible my experience with Roundhouse Hotal. They are very lier they show other hotel and give the room in other hotel so I strongly not recommend this hotel
Would not go again”
There was holes and dents in walls and ceiling, there was damp,/mould in the bathroom, paint peeling off ceiling, only the 2 bedside lamps and bathroom light worked, paid for a double bed and got 2 singles pushed to get her, mattresses were awful, staff barely spoke to you, breakfast was good, went with friends and their family room was just as bad if not worse. Doors being slammed all night. Bathroom looked like it had barely been cleaned and the shower leaked. The location of the hotel was probably the best thing about the hotel. Would not book in this hotel again and certainly would not recommend it. Especially for the cost of the rooms, I've paid less and stayed in far better hotels.
No good customer service”
I stayed one night on the 21/05/18 since from Arrival wasn’t greeted in a good welcome as a customer never asked if I have stayed with them before. When I left the following morning of 22/05/18 I forgot my shoes in the room but when I called after realising I don’t have them. I gave them all my details and told them I was in room 413. They promised to call me back but no one called me. I called again on 25/05/18 but the person I spoke to didn’t even know about my case. She said she will pass my number to someone and they will call me back, but up to now no call at all.
This place was yuck. Old and tired, paint peeling etc I can forgive, but uncleanliness no - grime is on every surface in there. Moldy bathrooms, dirty mirrors, boogers on shower walls, dried milk splattered (sweet jesus I hope it was milk) all over the mirrors and table surfaces, dirty windows and brown mystery stains on the bedding. Just look in any room corner or fixture and its got a few years of scum built up. When we first checked in we had to let the concierge know we found a large internal crack in our toilet. To be fair, the lady concierge was helpful and moved us, but the guy looked like he'd rather be anywhere else in the world through-out our stay and avoided eye contact a lot. Broken bathroom fan, ancient tiny hairdryer, lights flickered, windows don't seal shut so loud traffic noise, beds are hard and there is a lot of weird old broken furniture. They trick you by saying you're getting an amazing price discount, when that is the normal price.
There are some good points to this hotel; its central location, size of rooms and convenient car parking. But it is like stepping back into the past or a derelict building. Britannia cannot justify charging their usual rates for this hotel as it is not at a standard that you would expect. Its a quirky building in a great location but it needs a total refurbishment. Embarrassment to overseas visitors in the fantastic British seaside resort of Bournemouth.
Nice Hotel - Could be better”
Nice hotel, good location - close to the sea and shops / restaurants. The room was satisfactory but the carpets were stained and could have done with a good clean. The only less than satisfactory point was there was not enough staff at reception in the morning, and a ridiculous check in and checkout time. 11am check out and 3pm check in. I tried for an early check in at 1pm but was turned down with the excuse that no rooms were ready. We got in the room at 2.55pm and it had obviously been ready for sometime - no room maid staff to be seen anywhere on the 3rd or 4th floor.
