Fantastic location, great staff and very quiet where we were on the 6th floor. The concierge was fantastic in getting us tickets to a show. The gym next door is really funky and well equipped (though I was a bit intimidated by the meathead guys in there). A couple of negatives: the breakfast wasn’t amazing, the hallways were freezing but the lifts were too hot and the fragrance in the hallways were headache inducing. But all in all a great stay, I’d stay again and would recommend it.
Hi Helene, thank you very much for taking the time to post your review and we're delighted to note that you particularly enjoyed our friendly, engaging style of service and our amazing location in the heart of London's vibrant theatre district. It's also great to know that our Concierge particularly demonstrated our core values to ensure a memorable guest experience. We are sorry for any disappointment with our breakfast offering or the hotel signature fragrance and if we had been aware of any concern in relation to the latter, we should have adjusted the fragrance levels in your corridor. We do hope that you will have a chance to visit us again when you are next in London and look forward to welcoming you back at that time - we also really appreciate your recommendation, too.
The staff is helpful. Room is clean and has different lighting for you to adjust. The standard rooms are a bit small, but once you move to deluxe and up it fits two people comfortably. Location is perfect - close to Leister Sq. underground, walkable to National Portrait Gallery. The only downside to this hotel is their speakeasy bar - overpriced and subpar drinks (16 pounds for a G&T that I had to pour myself...). There are plenty of bars nearby where you can go to for a drink.
Hi Derek, many thanks for taking the time to review us and we really appreciate your very kind comments for our friendly and attentive team, our cleanliness, and our fabulous location in the heart of London's theatre district, close to so many iconic landmarks. We are very sorry for the disappointment with Blind Spot, our speakeasy bar, and we do review our menus and pricing alongside our London hotel competitor bars. We do hope that you'll have the opportunity to visit us again when you are next in London and we very much look forward to welcoming you back to St Martins Lane.
This hotel has been my favourite in London now for a number of years. It is modern, not over the top, and in a great location with friendly staff.
Hi David, thank you so much for taking the time to review us and it's great to know that we remain your favourite hotel in London, not least because of our location in the heart of the city's vibrant theatre district. Your support of the hotel is highly valued and we look forward to continuing to welcome you whenever you are in London.
Great hotel, best location,”
The standart roon is very smal, service is great.
Hi Michal, many thanks for your feedback and we're delighted that you enjoyed our friendly and attentive service as well as our great location in the heart of London's vibrant theatre district, close to so many iconic landmarks. If we had been aware of any concern with the room size, we should have been pleased to show alternative room types. We hope you'll have the opportunity to visit us again when you are next in London and very much look forward to welcoming you back at that time.
It was a great stay. The location was amazing, very central and easy access to everywhere. The staff were friendly in a way that they wanted to be and not forced. I had issues with my card and needed to use a cash machine during check in. Instead of giving me directions to a cash machine the door man Ahmed walked me there ...ensured I found the place and I was safe. Hence great staff.
Dear khatija, Wow, many thanks for your fabulous review, we really appreciate it and we're all thrilled to know you had such a super St Martins Lane experience. Ahmed was especially delighted to know that he made all the difference for you, as are the rest of our attentive team - indeed, that's how we roll! We're all looking forward to welcoming you back again soon. Warmest wishes, The Team

My business trip stay at the St Martins lane ”
My stay was very good as usual ( I am a frequent visitor ) but I must say I was very disappointed not to be informed of the on going renovations ( the bar and main dining room were closed ) and the reception area severely reduced in size and therefore atmosphere Even more so in the fact that I was on my business trip with two colleagues and had highly recommended them to stay at the St martins which they did because of the things I have mentioned i.e. the great bar etc They were very deflated when they arrived because everything was closed I do understand that renovations must be done and how difficult it is to work around the fact the hotel must stay open ( I am a casino owner myself in Birmingham ) but I just think that customers should be informed of this and therefore given the choice of whether to stay under these conditions or not . Also the price should be reflected in the very reduced facilities and ambience which even though I had a very correct rate with yourselves was not I'm afraid Also just to finish my colleagues much to my dismay let it be known to myself that they wouldn't be staying at the hotel again ! Which I found embarrassing Many thanks David shine
The Perfect Spot!”
The whole experience was brilliant. It was our 33rd wedding anniversary and Barbara at the front desk (who gave us the best welcome we have ever had at a reception desk, by the way!!) surprised us by having a complimentary bottle of bubbly delivered to our room when we returned from our first evening out. So very thoughtful! The hotel's location for access to all the main London attractions (accessible on foot!!) was superb.
My friend and I arrived at 08:00 expecting to have to wait for normal check in time of 15:00 but were given our rooms immediately which was totally unexpected. The staff were fantastic and deserve full credit for there enthusiasm and dedication. The room was excellent and definitely value for money. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and will be staying again.
Very Nice stay but it is hard to believe that I paid more than 500 pounds for the room and it did not include breakfast!
Hi David, we are so pleased to note that you had a very nice stay with us and enjoyed many elements of the hotel. Rates will fluctuate in line with demand and London has been very busy over the last few weeks. Our website has a number of promotions, including breakfast-inclusive rates, throughout the year and we should also have offered you the option to upgrade to breakfast-inclusive on arrival. We hope the positive aspects will bring you back to stay with us and look forward to welcoming you again to St Martins Lane.
The room is spotless and very comfortable. Location is convenient with many restaurants in the vicinity.
Welcomed at 3.30am by Andrew who came outside and took our luggage. Room 109 loved it.. Funky. Quirky, Modern, clean, friendly snd central london
Hi Nicky, thank you so much for your lovely comments on our rooms, our style, our central location in the heart of London's theatre district, and our friendly, authentic service especially from Andrew, one of our fabulous bell team. We do hope that you'll have a chance to visit us again - we would be delighted to welcome you back - and look forward to seeing you soon. Warm regards from St Martins Lane.
Gurantee Money of GBP 100”
As the reservation, there is no guideline of gurantee of GBP 100, they swiped my credit card. By the checking-out, they said the gurantee money was back to my card which was apparently not as to my credit card bill. I have to ask to Agoda and Hotel for the return the gurantee money. What a loss of my time. Make sure by check-out.
Excellent Experience but some disappointments”
Excellent location, Unique design in the room, lobby is average and not impressive, Housekeeping did excellent job, however hotel reception is horrible - slow and bad service, almost over charged me for parking. Asked for credit card but never advise how much will charge as deposit or so. The only hotel with such service in UK
Due to the lack of a main restaurant and bar the hotel felt no different than a premier inn, unfortunately the alternative was very limited. The hotel itself lacked any character due to this renovation work and although we knew it was taking place, we assumed that there would be a suitable replacement. The room was itself was very nice as you would expect. Overall I do not believe we would stay at this particular hotel again.
Good hotel but over priced”
Good stay, comfortable room but not 5 star. There are the finishing touches they miss, ie, one complimentary bottle of water when there are two guests. No tissues in the bedroom. Quite expensive for what you get.
Always disappointing ”
I stay in London often. Over the years I've ended up at the St Martins a few times. It always disappoints. It's gimmicky but not really that luxurious or cool. Amenities are lacking. It's way over priced. Not particularly comfortable. Much (not all!) of staff is surly. Stay at the nearby Amba Charing Cross for better service, comfort and nice staff at similar price.
It was a pleasant stay! The hotel design is chic. Staff are friendly and helpful. Just the room is a bit small.
The TV's airplay mode is only applicable for android.
it was wonderful....”
