It was not like pictures and different from my expenctation. Facility was minimum and I didn't think their service was good. Good thing was clean and reasonable.

    Horrible!”
The room was tiny & dirty. Worst room I have ever had there and the Seaguls started making the most horrific noise since 3am. Our key didn't work on the lift or door. The staff was so sure and unhelpful. Even after expressing my unhappiness and and willingness to extend stay still sunday but only if in other room, they couldnt care less. Was an aweful experiences and waste of money! I moved to another hotel for rest of stay. AVOID staying here.

AMALFI HOTEL GREATEST ASSET IS LOCATION THAT IS ALL”
This property is in a prime location with lots of potential and very spacious rooms etc.. but clearly the owners or management are not investing enough in updating the facilities and modernizing the decor. It is fairly well maintained - but it definitely it can be cleaner and they need t make sure the TVs work properly, the light fittings are replaced etc... it could be wonderful good value spacious accommodation, instead it is below average accommodation in an amazing location. Recommend updating all facilities and painting and freshening up and this place will be a goldmine!

    Good”
    Location, cleaned every day, airconditioner
This is not a hotel in the true sense- it is self catering apartment and as such is perfect. TV was hopeless - poor reception and a CRT TV from the last century. But you don't visit Cape Town to watch TV. Staff are great. Will stay again in the future.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel as it's well located and centered. You might travel from anywhere as you can find transport that can take you where ever you want. The main attraction of the city are not far from the hotel and the sea is about 5 minutes walk.

    Great time we had! ”
Awesome location, really helpful staff and big, bright room with two balconies
Our stay was really nice. We arrived too early for check in and were still allowed to check in straight away. The room was great: two floors, massive sofa, two balkonies, one with partial seaview and one with mountain view. Nice bed and bathroom. The only tiny thing we would have liked to change were the bathroom lights...quite dark and no good for two girls traveling ;) Downstairs are lots of restaurants & cafés, a spar and Woolworth 2 min down the road. Also mycitibus - stop right there for public transport. 3 min walk to the beach promenade, 5 to Cape Town swimming pool. On top of that, the staff was super friendly and helpful!

Excellent stay at a remarkably reasonable price”
Price, Staff Service, Clean and Modern
We only stayed at Amalfi Suites one night as we had a week rental at a nearby resort. The one night was excellent. The staff were wonderful, very easy check-in and check-out, gated parking, nice large modern rooms, hairdryers, nice balconies, etc. The hotel does not have a restaurant itself, but there is a very nice restaurant/cafe on the main/entry level called Koo's that is excellent. It is open all day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has free wi-fi. We ended up eating at Koo's for breakfast most days - had bacon, eggs, toast, crepes (called pancakes here), fresh fruit juice (i mean fresh - not sure how many oranges it took to make the one glass but it was excellent), and the service at Koo's was excellent. We also ate here for two dinners - had pasta and burgers - all of which were excellent and very reasonably priced compared to our resort's breakfast buffet and restaurant menu. There are also several other restaurants close by, including an italian cafe on the main level as well that was excellent and a pizzaria further down the street owned/ran by the same folks as the italian cafe that is super reasonable (like $5 margarita - cheese - pizzas that are enough for two people). There is also a dry cleaner very close by that does wash/dry/fold jobs for those traveling light for R60 for around 7-8 lbs of clothing = $6 US. I definitely would stay at Amalfi again - great on your budget with easy access to the main attractions (bus stop is close - about a 3 minute walk). The only negative was that Amalfi was a little hard to find - we missed it the first time we passed it.

    Centrally located in Cape Town”
Large room, close the the ocean and restuarants
I arrived late and there was just a security guard to welcome you. The area is quite secure. Access is limited to use of a card. Even so when using the elevator. The suite is centrally located with easy access to town and Camps Bay. There is limited parking space at this place, often difficult to park if you have a big car.

Central location, near shoppind, safe parking
Very good city hotel . I left the timeshare i paid for already at veldriff coz it was 140 km away from the attractions at cape town. The table mountain was 15 min away from amalfi! Kirstenboschh was 25 min away. This is by driving. The convenience of a pharmacy and grocery just next door is perfect!

Location in Sea Point was very conveniet
I was very happy that I happened on this hotel on the Agoda site ! The location was very good for walking and transportation. It was near the sea - with a small slice of view from the balcony ! There were 2 very pleasant restaurants in the same building - one in atrium and and another near front entrance ! I would be happy to return there !

    Poor Customer Service”
It was a very unfortunate ending as we left a brand new make up kit in the bathroom rushing to catch our flight and less than two days later we could not retrieve it from an ''Executive Suite.'' The staff and manager were not helpful in helping us recover our items which was very sad to see. The rooms are very secure and access to the floors are restricted to guests only, so for our items to be stolen is saddening. As someone who travels in and between South Africa often, this was definitely my first and last stay at Amalfi. Customer service does not end after you take our money! Cape Town has too many lovely places to tolerate such service.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was clean and had a balcony which was great. I have to mark down staff because they double booked my room and when I got back from dinner someone else was in my room sleeping which freaked me out. The staff didn't seem to take it that seriously as I did but I can't fault the physical hotel.

The management of the hotel is poor,”
    Location,
The parking is a major issue and it wasn't mentioned when making a booking, the cleanness is below standard, the noise in the morning from staff and Maintanance guy ( short colored guy). They make noise as early as 8:00 in the morning while one is on holiday is not acceptable. Never to stay in that hotel again...

    location , jarryds downstairs, parking
terrible!! the room was filthy dirty. there was hair in the bed sheets on the pillows and on the towels. the bed sheets were old. there were cockroaches in the fridge and ants everywhere. the room smelt of dampness. the furniture was old and dirty plus the carpet on the floor was dirty. the bath/shower had green fungus. the light in the bathroom was broken the mirror in the bathroom had stains on. the blinds had so much dust on them. they said they upgraded my room- dont even want to think what a normal room would look like. to summerise: the amalfi is not executive suites but rather a hostel. the pro's: jarryds, the parking and the location.

    Location
No wifi, came back and the master key was left at my door and my cellphone was gone. No one even emailed me to apologize. You have to hoot non stop at the gate for the guards to open the parking gate. Leaves little to feel secure about. I will never book here again.

    Stuck in the dark!”
    The restaurant
I ended up moving out on the first night although I and paid for 4 nights! The security warning not to leave ANYTHING in the room when I was out was enough to put the wind up me but then the power went out and I was stuck in a pitch black building for an hour! i was also the only guest in the entire apartment block which should speak for itself. I would not recommend the place - it was bare, barely clean and unwelcoming. Although inexpensive, bear in mind that you generally get what you pay for!
