Exceptional”
LOVED this hotel. The service was amazing and the Thai Breakfast was fantastic. We felt very welcomed and comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance of Wat Pho, the grand palace, a few night markets, and a really lovely park. If I get the opportunity I'd stay here again The only downside was that our bedroom window overlooked a street light and the curtains weren't able to fully block out the light.

Elegant and tasteful”
Old school Bangkok! So nice and well decorated. You can walk to most tourist destinations within 10 minutes yet far away enough to provide a break. Moss, the caretaker, was an incredible help. he arranged dinner reservations for us, helped the taxis find the place on the phone. Gave us any information that we asked him. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

The hotel is renovated from an old house in the historical centre. The neighborhood is lovely. Rooms are furnished with some antique stuff we found charming. Breakfast is a gem.

An oasis in Bangkok”
This hotel will help make Bangkok feel a little more manageable. The staff are super friendly and helpful; the included breakfast is some of the best meals we had in Thailand; and the location is central yet apart from the hustle and bustle.

A Taste of Heritage”
Location ,Staff Performance, Breakfast
Good Location, walking distance to Wat Pho, Grand Palace and Ferry. Staff are always helpful, particularly, Moss, who is always willing to help and also allowed us to freshen up before our midnight flight. Breakfast is a choice of Western or Thai. Choose the Thai as is comes in tiffin containers an always a delight to open and find a different breakfast every morning. Would recommend to anyone who wants the old world experience.

Old Bangkok Charm”
Ideal location for sightseeing, incredibly friendly and helpful hosts, charming rooms
Outstanding - every detail was looked after by the hosts from the generous breakfast served, sightseeing guidance (so much in walking distance and just a few blocks from a river pier to take the taxi boats) and arranging airport transfer via taxi. Thanks for the breakfast to go before sunrise! Tip: tea time (do not miss out on the homemade coconut ice cream and jasmine tea should that be served during your stay. A very special place.

Charming B&B In Need of Improvements”
Ambience, Character, Location
Having stayed at both the Bhuthorn and the Asadang at least 3 years ago. I was looking forward to staying at the Asadang B&B to relive the great memories I once had at the two properties. However, this stay gave me mixed feelings towards the Asadang, perhaps it is the low season? The arrival is still the same with the welcome drink of lemongrass juice and a personalized breakfast menu, of which I noticed they have reduced the option to one item instead of the mix and match in the past where you could have both Western and a local option. Still, the breakfast was quite okay. The interiors are still beautiful but some of the rooms are in need of upkeep such as the damaged shower in the Mahanak Room. However the most disappointing part of the stay is the drop in service standards and complimentary snack and drinks being reduced to mere mineral water. The staff weren't as proactive as I remembered. For a first time guest, this might not be an issue but having stayed here before, I couldn't help feeling disappointed at the current conditions of the Asadang. However, the staff were still friendly and they try to make us feel welcome, just lack the X-factor that made our previous stays so memorable in the past. The Asadang is just a walk away from Wat Pho, Flower Market, Khao San Road and the Grand Palace which makes it a good base to explore the old city of Bangkok. The neighbourhood itself is quite quaint as well and has several affordable and pretty good family restaurants and coffeehouses including the famed On Lok Yun down the road. The Asadang is also not too far from Nonburi pier where you could also take the Chao Phrya River Express to other parts of Bangkok.

Charming heritage hotel in old Bangkok”
Location, heritage building, friendly staff
I enjoyed a wonderful stay at The Asadang. It's a beautifully restored heritage building in the heart of old Bangkok. Ideally located if you're interested in the cultural sights of Bangkok, rather than the hustle and bustle of partying and drinking. Very friendly and attentive staff made my stay a real pleasure. Highly recommended!

authentic historical building and interiors, location, cosy place
That is a type of hotel where you want to spend time not only sleep! Very interesting interiors with lots of antique things. Atmosphere of old Bangkok. Breakfast is tasty, try thai-style one and you will be surprised :) Definitely will stay here again!

Boutique B&B close to Royal Palace & Wat Pho”
The Asadang has a great old time charm with comfortable rooms and very friendly and welcoming staff.
The Asadang is very comfortable and located within walking distance to several of Bangkok's attractions and as it is also close to the Pier and Chao Phraya river there are several dining options and the opportunity to take the river boat to Taksim BTS station. The staff are very friendly and helpful and this was a nice change from corporate style hotels which while comfortable are totally anonymous.

Good stay”
homely feel, clean room, friendly staff
Good stay but getting to/fro The Asadang is an issue especially with metered cab availability during peak hours and from town locations. Friendly and attentive staff is a plus for this hotel, helped me figure out the best way to plan each day's itinerary :)

It's fine for Bangkok, but not great”
style, decor, location
The location is great, and the rooms have such old-world character; it's definitely a cool experience. That said, I wouldn't stay here again, and would rather take a cab or tuk tuk and stay somewhere a little more comfortable for the price. You do hear a good bit of noise from the outside streets as well as from the loud bells they put on everyone's keys, the internet wasn't working the entire length of my stay in any part of the hotel, the shower had low pressure and didn't get hot, and my room was not ever stocked with toilet paper, nor did they restock it with water (maybe this isn't their policy, but a complimentary bottle of drinking water every day is a simple courtesy I appreciate.)
